The staff is rude,(observed Melissa slamming doors in frustration with another patient today) The front entry has no less than 25 signs, many are house created printouts taped with clear tape to the walls. Many are sales leads trying to sell you expensive hormone implants,. The best is the TV screen blaring the sales propaganda at you. Large chested ladies claiming the«hormone plug implants» fix the flagpole, makes you feel young again wink wink nudge nudge blah blah blah. I was amused to see that many of the posters listed multiple Kunz affiliated website’s where you could make sure the Doctor got his proper compensation for the sales of such treatments. I have not seen so much poor marketing in a medical office, reminded me of LIFE Chiropractic graduates that have been drinking the sales kool aid. Although the staff scheduled me for a vaccine update, no one seemed to know exactly what vaccine I needed. They twice expected me to tell them what vaccine I needed. IMO they should have known why I was there, and it should not have taken an hour for a shot. They tried to get me to pay a co-pay for a free vaccine, and the exam room was also littered with sales literature and posters. Sales is CLEARLY very important to the Doctor, but he failed marketing IMO.

I think Dr. Kunz is great! He is very knowledgeable about thyroid and seems to know a lot about hormones, even though he’s technically a general doctor. There is a wait every time and I usually plan on spending 2 hours at the clinic for each appointment. They book appointments to last 20 min(I assume due to insurance reasons), but Dr. Kunz takes his time with patients. I personally don’t mind waiting if I know I will receive his full attention when I finally do see him. The front staff is nice too, they seem to care about their job and their patients. I like the atmosphere of this office… and this is my 6th doctor after«firing» several in the Alpharetta/Sandy Springs area.

I am so thankful that I found Dr. Kunz. My other doctor that I’d had for over 20 years repeatedly did NOTHING about my issues, ignoring labs because he refused to keep up with current info. Having found Dr. Kunz on the yahoo group for Stop the Thyroid Madness group, I made my first appointment. At the time I did not have insurance and had already paid out of pocket for the first round of labs from an outside source. I brought these labs in and based on the numbers, he was willing to start me on a natural thyroid med. It has taken 2 years to get everything in balance. During the process, he was always willing to listen and wasn’t at all offended by my doing my own research. He was GLAD he was talking to an informed patient! He helped me figure out that I had adrenal issues, low B12, low D3, and low hormones, helping me to fix all of these issues. He was also willing to try unconventional medication to help with the out of control antibodies related to my Hashimoto’s thyroiditis condition. What a world of difference in my life! I feel so much better now, thanks to his help. He has always been attentive during visits and never made me feel rushed. The only reason I haven’t given him 5 stars is two-fold. His office is overwhelmed with patients. It takes far too long, even as a first appointment of the day. Also, the new PA he has is very condescending, constantly calling me «sweetie» before following with a snide remark. Belittling me and showing obvious irritation for NOT wanting to get on medication for hypertension when my BP was slightly elevated over several visits. Since this is a SIDEEFFECT of an underactive thyroid, I was patient in getting the dosing right and it has lowered on it’s own as I have become optimal. This is easily avoided by not making an appointment with her! I have had follow-up visits with the nurse practitioner and she was lovely. She will not hesitate to go ask Dr. Kunz if you have a question she can’t answer.(And on a side note, she was glad that I had NOT started the medication for hypertension the PA had tried to push on me.) Once again, thank you Dr. Kunz for giving me back my life!

Doctor was attentive and took all information as needed for initial consultation. I Paid cash for all three visits. I had lab work done in office for thyroid. PA was concluded my lab results was quick I felt rushed as though there were other things way more important than giving me my time that I paid her $ 75 for her 15 min visit. She concluded I had nothing wrong with me. I was surprised all of a sudden all my reports were clear? My symptompts from other lab reports in past were wrong?!? Lol i came in to get more of a bioidentical approach but found out I have no issues according to Dr Kunz’s lab reports. I took the report to my physician who overruled their standing like any normal physician with a common sense would’ve done and put me back on synthetic hormones just to mk me feel better for now. After $ 350 later with Dr kunz office, all my symptoms still existed yet they said they stand by their report and they promised to return half my money so I could get tested else where, but its been two weeks since Chad the office manager has yet to call me back after four phone calls and over two months. Since the results. Im very very upset for paying cash for all these test since July they have been letting me hang in pain not realising i need to get retested. Updating my in review Chad has not return any of my calls after several attempts to leave phone and otherwise. Its been over two month now. I left him a final message letting him know I shall contact the medical Board if I did not hear from him regarding my refund he had promised. Since i will be spending more cash visiting another doctor. This office is unprofessional and no integrity. Not sure how they call themselves a doctors office if they cant get a hormone report correct!!!

If you could give negative stars, I would. I am relatively new to Georgia and looking for a new doctor. Had an appointment with the nurse practitioner for a yearly physical. I actually got to see her all of 30 seconds and ended up just seeing a nursing student. I was told at the appointment that I had a UTI, but they wanted to culture it to see what antibiotic to treat it with. That was 4⁄20. It wasn’t until 5/18, almost a month later that they called in an antibiotic. I asked about my other lab results and was told that not everything was back yet and what was back hadn’t been looked at. I responded that they most certainly had all of the results as I had already been billed by the lab. After demanding that they mail it to me, I have now received it and find that ALL of my lab results were faxed to them on 4⁄25. So they let me sit here with a UTI for over 3 weeks before calling in an antibiotic. My lab work should have all been covered because it was my annual physical, but they decided to code the labs as a sick visit(even though they coded the physical as a wellness visit). Then they billed the insurance for a thyroid scan, when one wasn’t even done. Stay away from this office.

Fast forward about a year and a half, still going to the same doctor(It was convenient and I lacked motivation to change doctors). Doc. Kunz pulls me aside while leaving and tells me to «remove my negative review» from online or I «should find a new doctor».

Worst experience in a doctor’s office EVER. Told what a great doctor he was but after 3 or 4 visits trying to get my thyroid under control, was told I needed antidepressants and a psychiatrist. His PA Melissa is the most careless practitioner I have ever had the misfortune to meet. Believe me she doesn’t care nor does his office staff. Rude… lazy…INCOMPETENT. Please don’t waste your time
