Holland Park Apartments

My lease is up this August and I couldn’t be happier. The gates are pieces of trash, sometimes they won’t open and I am late for school or work, or sometimes the lazy maintenance people will just leave them open for anyone to come in to. Which I thought the whole point of a gated community is to have working «gates». Management does a terrible job of getting info to its residents. Example: our last months rent is prorated and I usually pay the rent online with no problem. However, this month was different as we weren’t paying as much therefore I couldn’t do the online payment. I called the office around 11, left a voicemail and no one got back to me. I called again around 4 and finally someone answered. They told me I couldn’t do it online and said I had to bring a money order to the office. First of all, the notice for last months rent said nothing of this so I don’t know how the hell I was supposed to know that. And instead of helping me out they charged me $ 150 as a late fee, even when I explained the circumstances on which it was ONE day late. Also, maintenance will come in to your apartment without your knowledge. One time, they knocked at the door ONCE and decided to let themselves in about a second later. I am a girl and my boyfriend works a lot. So for me to feel like these men can storm into my apartment whenever makes me extremely uncomfortable. Now I deadbolt the door when I need to take a shower. Also, the trash collectors for the apartments come around 9 o’clock at night and it seems to me like they try to make the loudest bangs when everyone is trying to get their children to sleep. It’s annoying. Most of our locks did not work for the bathroom, bedroom. Only the front door one worked honestly. Oh yeah, our air conditioning stopped working in the middle of summer and took management at least a week to come up here and fix it when we called and told them about it days before. All in all I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Unless you don’t mind dealing with all of this trouble for a price that is way too high for these apartments– which they lowkey raise over time.
