Im gonna review this based on the only one time i went here the candlebox show 10/23/2015. so this review reflects how is this place in a big event day. Its a one star, im gonna explain why, but i will give it 2 stars just for the simple fact that they were able to get candlebox to perform there. so lets start with the problems… First of all i had to pay for the parking. That should be included on the ticket. Before entering i was told i could re-enter if i needed to go to my car. Needless to say when i had to go to my car to leave the shirt that i bought in there so i wouldnt have to carry it in my hand for the whole night then i was told, NOREENTRY. ok that sucks but it gets worse. Bathroom was dirty, and people were doing drugs in there, that is just a fact, but no one cares i guess, they care if youre gonna try to re-enter. I mean what is the point of getting that bracelet if you cant leave? Im 27 im not a fucking kid, treat me with some respect. Drinks werent too good. All the female bartenders are just mean and rude. I mean every single time i had to ask them to put more coke in my long island. «sir i already did it». I mean just do it just put more coke cause you clearly never tried to drink a long island with the wrong amount of coke on it, is BITTER. so if i politely ask you to give me an extra splash of coke over my drink why do you have to make such a big deal out of it? Anyways i also called them at 5:45 pm which i was told«doors open at 6 pm, show start at 6:30, there will be 3 bands performing before candlebox» i got there at 7 pm left at 12:25 am and candlebox wasnt done yet. Dont lie to me to make me go early and watch 5 or 6 crappy bands before the band i wanna see just so i can stay longer and spend more money(but remember no re-entry). i paid for candlebox. and the show started it was almost 12 am… Sounds was horrible. For a small place like this you would think that they could at least nail that but no. unless youre right in front of the stage you could barely hear the band. Maybe this is a good place to hang out in any other day but during this event they proved to me theyre not prepared and also that they do not care. Wont be coming back unless i have too(in case another band i like performs here)

Bar itself is cool, big place, great if you’re a college kid and bartenders are quick. However, I was there out of state for a well known band and its BEYONDME why there wouldn’t be security stationed by the bands room, or even just by the stairs throughout the night. Why allow hundreds of drunk people access to the entire place is absolutely disgusting. Who runs this joint?

I never expected to have the best pizza at an Irish joint, but hey! My favorite feature is the immense amount of taps. I’ve tried fantastic micros there and they rotate often. The bartenders have been there a while and the owner, Brian, is often around(he’s a sweetheart). This is my local watering hole. Sam Cherry wheat? Always on! Whoop!

After a long day of renovating a house, the beer at Claddagh was just what was needed. Icy cold and served in a generous pint. 4 different types of Sam Adams on tap made for a happy Jo. Nothing craft, but I didn’t expect there to be in Lawrence. We had nachos as well, and they went down a treat. Plenty of toppings, and just the right number of jalapeños on top that no one burned their mouths. My group are there most Saturday afternoon, but it’s clear that the bartenders take the time to get to know their regulars. They knew the standard order and started pouring beers before we had organized our chairs. A great place for a beer if you’re in the area.

This is a very large bar that seen a dramatic upgrade on the the amount of tvs and pizza menu(which I highly recommend). Its great place just to grab a ber and watch a game. The crowd appears to be very diverse and colorful. Though a bit on the high end relative to mo0st bars in the city it is well worth it to spend some time here.

It is perhaps worth noting that though its image isn’t «fancy» it is in fact the only bar within Lawrence where you can reasonably expect to name a cocktail that you want to drink, and not have to explain what it is and how to make it to your bartender. Though other places might be cheaper, it can be tiresome to have to walk your bartender through your drink. Not the case here. And though while in the suburbs this would not be something unusual, in Lawrence there is something to be said for this. Depending on one’s transportation situation, the lack of designated driver plus the cab fare from or to deepest suburbia, this information could prove quite useful.

I do not recommend this place. It’s a dump.

This place is one of the last true rock clubs for live bands in Lawrence, it use to be the Merrimack college hang out back in the day, but they still pull in some pretty good bands. Worth the trip on a Thursday, Friday, or Saturday night

I have been here on several Sundays. They do not serve food on Sunday. BUUUT they have given out FREE food a couple times while I was there for the patrons, which is awesome! ANDYUMMYTOO! They have really good stuff on tap. They are friendly and he atmosphere is awesome too! Now everything would be awesome if you didn’t have to go to Lawrence to get there. But I ain’t skeered. I go there anyway. Big bad Law-Town doesn’t scare me. I grew up only a few towns over. Don’t let the area scare you either. Give this place a chance if you love a coupla pints.

Just had our office Xmas party here. The staff went out of their way to make this event a success. We had opted for Buffet which had plenty of food. No worries about people gripping about quantity. The food was great, freshly made and served right on time. The dance floor is HUGE! It is a great space for a party. Only drawback is stairs are a little much if you have an older crowd.(no elevator which doesn’t matter if you live in NYC but for this area one flight seemed to be a big deal.)

Legit Irish Pub… clean but not fancy, crowded but controlled, good bands and inexpensive drinks… def a fun place to visit when you’re in the area! Note: Area around Claddagh is a wee bit ghetto. Make sure you roll with an entourage!

Came here as part of a 4 mile road race through the center of Lawrence. There were probably around 1000 people around here, as well as spectators and various hangers-on. Under those circumstances, one would expect mass confusion, long lines at the bar and at the door, and just not a lot of fun. I’m glad to say I was wrong. The bar and wait staff handled the throngs well, moving fast and courteously, stepping in wherever bottlenecks started taking place and moving the crowd along well. Prices weren’t at all unreasonable and, while the variety wasn’t what one gets at a fancy nightclub or exclusive Boston bar… it more than made for a satisfying post-race experience. And, most amazingly, the ‘facilities,’ were kept relatively clean and properly functioning through all of this. Good size facility with substantial floor space and a function room upstairs. Will go back when the patio is open to the warmer weather. It’s more of a working-class local tavern than a yuppie bar. Not pretty but pretty good.

The bar tenders are rude, the food is mediocre at best and the general crowd here isn’t very friendly. The 2 stars are for the décor, the awesome Wednesday Trivia Nights(8pm), the free pizza«and wings» Friday Happy Hour and pool tables.

prices are good, food is average, but you don’t go here for the food — good place to socialize, I’ve never stayed past 8 or so, so I miss the hs reunion crowd(well I don’t really miss it), in the afternoon its relaxed, staff is super nice, good place to mingle

If you live in the Merrimack Valley, The Claddagh is your destination for a weekly high school reunion on Thursday nights. And just like a high school reunion, you will find yourself binge drinking and hugging people you never liked. The drinks are inexpensive when compared to Boston prices and the service is adequate. The space is large but you might end up waiting in lines(especially the night before Thanksgiving) when the masses are looking to get sloshed. There’s also a stage for live bands and an outdoor patio for smoking/drinking while enjoying the sights and sounds of downtown Lawrence… sirens…gunshots…domestic violence. Upstairs there’s a function space(which surprise surprise, held my 5 year high school reunion). Nothing fancy, just an open space with tables, a dance floor, and a bar. I’d say the best thing about The Claddagh is that when you find yourself stumbling out the doors at closing time there’s a sausage vendor waiting near the parking lot. Drunk sausage. It’s a good thing.

I have a good time here. The few and far between times I visit. And I always roll with some pretty big friends in this place. Tis close to the ghettoooo. Not a bad place, drinks are pretty cheap. Endless selection of beer and liquor, but be prepared to fight your way to the bar. This place is packed on weekends. And as of late,(my 29 b-day) I may be the oldest one in the crowd. Def a college age bar. On a not so busy night tho, there’s pool tables, usually a band, a «patio» outside for smokers and a faux sausage guy.

Claddaghs a quality Irish bar, don’t know why you guys are all riping it. They get quality music here(seen U2 tribute band«Joshua Tree» here a few times), and the place has plenty of space to move around. Heavy college kid crowd on Friday and Saturday, but most of em are fairly laid back. Just don’t dawdle around LawTown at the end of the nite…
