Great sandwiches, I would dare to say it’s one of the best sandwich bars in town. Pikalo is well known for their empanadas — offering variety in a very modern yet traditional way. Their «bollito de yuca» is also untouchable. But there’s a problem… What’s great food with bad customer service? I’ve received crappy service 4 out of 6 times I’ve been here. The girl who takes orders and cashes people out is sarcastic and rude! I’ll rather order take-​out from here before seeing her again. Again, good food but bad service!

Best Empanadillas or pastalitos (depending on your origen) I have had in the Lawrence area so far. The real kicker here is the dough. They either make their own or they are buying a larger format than everybody else, and they are stuffing them. They offer many fillings as well. they have shredded chicken, seasoned ground beef, ham and cheese, salami and cheese, pizza and completa. Completa are a combination of chicken, beef, ham, cheese and some veg including corn, onions and peppers. Completa are my favorite right now. Its helpful if you speak Spanish but if need be you can point. I highly recommend this place for a great example of a Dominican staple fast food. Buen Provecho!
