LOL is always very clean, and has a lot for your kids to do. We come here mostly in the winter or on rainy days. Our kids spend the most time on the giant jumping pillow. There’s lots of areas for them to choose from – imaginary play, train table, dress up area and stage, arts and crafts room, dance/karaōke room, rock climbing wall, infant play area, interactive screen projected on the floor, and a playscape. The booth seating gets taken up pretty quickly. Sometimes we’re stuck standing on the wall. It’s really great that you can bring in your own food and drink, even though they sell food items themselves. The party room had been very small but they’re expanding it, may have already. The parties I’ve attended have only been during open hours, and they’ve been pretty crowded because it’s a very busy place on weekends. If we were to do a party for our kids we would likely try the private party during after hours. The rates for private parties are very reasonable in my opinion. This is not a place I necessarily look forward to going to on weekends since it’s so busy, but I try to bring something to read. They have wifi here for people who want to try to work but I can’t imagine getting a ton done on the weekends without headphones. We keep an eye on our kids regardless of what other kids were doing, but I’ve found many parents totally check out once they walk in, so I need to watch my toddler more closely in some play areas because some kids can be rough. This is obviously no fault of LOL. I’d say that kids up to age 12 would be entertained here, with the 12 year olds probably mostly enjoying the jumping pillow and crafts. Ultimately our kids have a blast and burn lots of energy. I’m glad it’s an option to have for families in Lawrence.

I think it’s fairly crappy but the kids like it. A privately-run indoor playground for inclement weather.

We had a great time at LOL last week. I took my 15 month old son and had my hubby bring the 11yr old down too! The baby loved all the toys to play with, the big kid loved the bouncy thing, climbing in the tunnels and the music room. In addition there is an art room, a dress up area and a game room we didn’t even get too. The food was great! I wasn’t expecting much from a very kid friendly menu, and was pleasantly surprised! The grilled cheese was delicious, the sides were healthy. The baby had an almond butter & jelly on wheat bread. I really like all the good options! We will certainly be going back to play!

We have been visiting LOL since they first opened. The staff and owners are always super nice and helpful. They keep everything pretty clean. We were told by the owners they climb through the jungle gym nightly and clean it. My kids favorite things are the jump pillow and jungle gym. They love the fact that daddy can play on them too. LOL also has an enclosed baby area, a dress up/stage area, a craft area, a dance room. The also have a room for birthday parties. Wish we had a place like this where we live, for now our kids will have to settle on visiting LOL when we visit Lawrence.

Finally, a fun indoor play place in Lawrence — and downtown, to boot! Probably best for ages 1 – 10, there are things for younger ones and older ones, as well. Although the place isn’t huge, there is enough active play equipment that my kids have worn themselves out every time we’ve gone. Between the large play structure with slides and tunnels, and the jumping«pillow» — think trampoline without the springs — it is easy to burn off lots of energy. There is also an interactive floor screen that responds when kids stand on it and move around — I wish there were a way to keep the games more static, as there are a couple, like soccer and car racing, that my kids like best. The stage area has tons of costumes for dress-up, and there is a separate art room and a «dance party» room that has walls covered with chalkboard paint. There is also an enclosed nook with lots of baby toys for crawlers or early walkers, and there are little bikes and riding toys for about ages 2 – 5 that they can take all over. Almost forgot the food: There are booths and tables where parents can sit and watch, and they serve a pretty extensive menu of quite healthy food, from pizza to PB&J’s and even spring rolls. It’s not gourmet, but it’s also not fried grease, so it’s a good balance between what kids like and what’s good for them. Good quality coffee and fountain drinks, plus milk and juice. Everything is clean and orderly, and the staff are very attentive to those aspects, which I appreciate. Admission is $ 8 for ages 2 and up, but there are punch cards and memberships that give discounted rates. So glad LOL is in Lawrence, and I hope it’s here for a really long time!
