I have stopped by every time I’m in Lawrence and haven’t left empty handed.
There are a lot of choices in handcrafted jewelry, clothing, soaps, note cards and prints. There is a fun company out of Springfield MO and Essential Goods carries their items. So no, not local to the Metro, but definitely some local artists are represented.
I bought two prints of the same artist at different times from Essential Goods. The framed prints are reasonably priced from a Lawrence artist. It was nice to talk to the friendly person working to get background information on the artist.
If you’re looking for a gift or something you didn’t know you needed, Essential Goods is right up your alley.

Beautiful stuff all from independent artists. They have stationary, jewelry, soap, candles, wall art, scarves… I wouldn’t call it local because some was from Oregon but whatevs.
