Clean, spacious café at Riverwalk. There are plenty of places to sit and feel comfortable relaxing, which is rare for a coffee place around here. I have come here a few times on a weekday morning or afternoon, and the coffee has always been fresh and drinkable. I especially enjoyed the egg sandwich, which believe it or not actually appears to contain an actual egg!!!(Not just rare but UNHEARDOF around here.) I will be returning for the real-egg sandwiches! But they lost a star when they put sugar in my coffee. Sorry, guys it’s just criminal ;-)

I came in around 8:20am and its my first time here. Came in didn’t have to wait too long to place my order. Ordered a large espresso and a cheese danish. Price was okay. a large is this 8oz cold cup… Not enough coffee for me … What is even worst is that my coffee was cold. The danish was OK. Maybe I’ll give this place a try again not sure If the employees were new or having a bad day.

The coffee is weak and boring, and the service is terrible. The staff don’t seem to listen, they make no eye contact, and they aren’t even particularly polite. I tried numerous times with this place, because it’s convenient for me and I wanted to like it. But after some particularly bad service last week, I’ve decided never to go back.

Great atmosphere and nice people work here but the coffee is bad. If you like weak New England coffee it might be for you. Otherwise good place to hang out and they have drive through.

I used to love this place when it first opened in Lawrence. I do not plan on returning after my latest visit. This is supposed to be a place for a quick sandwich or soup but if you have the time to go out to a restaurant then you have time to eat here. The time it takes to get a sandwich is about 10 – 15 minutes and this was with not a single customer waiting in front of me. Sorry to say but the service is terrible.

Need a breakfast sandwich on a fresh bagel and a good hot cup of black coffee? This is your place. Need a dozen of the best tasting pastry, made fresh daily? This is your place. Some of the best cinnamon buns in the world, great danish, etc. I haven’t tried the lunch food, but the service is fast and efficient, the place itself is well decorated and clean, and the food I have had tastes fantastic. Most importantly, given the name, the coffee is good.

Had a turkey sandwich. Very uninspired certainly not worth the effort to chew through the stale bread. Service was timely but lacked any interest in providing a quality experience. Décor is good as is the location.

Come here about once a week, coffee is great! I love the sausage egg and cheese! Hash browns are marginal at best, only reason not giving them 5 stars is that two times the service forgot me at the drive thru, then provided me with a cold sandwich and an attitude. Granted my sample size is rather large, I’ll give anyone a pass but to happen twice? Other than those two outliers my experiences have been great ! Just stay away from the hash brown(oil saturated and soggy)

I always look forward to trying a new café, I like having something other than the chains. The bagel and cream cheese was fine but nothing special. My iced latte was undrinkable as I asked for caramel and toffee nut and they put SO much in it was crazy sweet. My husband asked for a coffee with room for cream and they put sugar in it, which he hates. Then we decided to get raspberry line Rickey’s for the road. I think it’s all syrup, definitely no actual lime in it. The place itself was nice but not exactly cozy and they need an option of shades on the huge windows.

Got a cappuccino a bacon egg and cheese on a croissant with hashbrowns. The cappuccino was OK the croissant was very good the hashbrowns was paperthin however on the plus side the hash brown was cooked to perfection. The place itself is spotless and the staff is very helpful. Very quick Service and accurate. I don’t know why but having never stop here before I was expecting a lot more for some reason. Which after saying that I feel little bit like a jerk but it just seem like something was missing.

I would love to be giving this café 5 stars since I know the Merrimac valley is devoid of any«quality» coffee experience. Unfortunately the experience is pretty pedestrian at best. It starts well with good décor and music but goes down hill from there. Poor service that is «soup-nazi-like». No smile, no eye contact, no nothing… The food is bland. I got an egg sandwich and I’m pretty sure it was on wonder bread(or equivalent). You might think that sounds like comfort food but it is really just a lack of imagination. I gave two stars because of the location and décor. I really hope they pick it up!

Great customer service. My latte and the cinnamon twist donut was excellent. The facility was clean but a bit pricey.

I like the drinks, and the pastries are delicious. However, there have been several things I’ve experienced that lead me to believe management is more concerned with making money than customer satisfaction. They have this rewards card, where you get a punch for every drink you buy, and after 6 drinks you get a free one. This sounds great, but when you actually go to use it, good luck! There have been a lot of inconsistencies with the card– the first is that I used to be able to get it punched for a tea/chai, but then other times I was told that they will only punch for coffee, which means you aren’t getting the same customer perks as coffee-drinkers because of a taste or diet preference. Also, you can buy 6 large coffees and then when it’s time for your free coffee, they will only give you a small! It seems like such a scam, honestly– especially if you’re paying over $ 3 a day on a coffee and the free one you get is under $ 2. It’s barely a reward! I’ve expressed my dissatisfaction about this to a manager one morning, and he seemed to care less. Another time, a representative from New England Coffee was standing outside the café handing out coupons for a free hot or iced coffe. When I tried to use it, they told me that they were only honoring it as a free small hot coffee, even though the coupon said hot or iced. I told the New England Coffee representative and after that they honored the coupon for an iced coffee. I generally try to support local businesses over dunkin donuts/starbucks, but with practices like this I’m not impressed. While maybe they can’t afford to give out free large coffees for the reward cards(which would be a bit hard to believe, honestly, but who knows) they could atleast honor the card based on the fact you’re buying their other drinks!

Nicest people run and work here and the coffee is good. I got the French roast and a hummus sandwich. Sandwich was good too. Really recommend this place for meeting people too.

Coffee is decent. Food horrible! Mac and cheese was so watery I had to throw out and the grilled cheese I ordered looked like I ran over it with my car. I asked for a refund back and she literally just wrote on my receipt(–grilled cheese). No refund print out. Place is a joke!

I would come here all day for the baked goods. I’ve tried half a dozen of them and they were all stellar. The pistachio muffin was one of my favorites. Blueberry was right up there as well. They bake everything fresh daily and it shows. The close relatively early in the day though, and they end up tossing all the leftovers. They don’t do any end of day discounts or donate to the food shelters; I asked. What a shame that is. :( As far as the coffee, it’s rather forgettable. It’s the cheapest espresso you’ll get around, but it shows. None of the workers know how to make a cup«extra hot». I never have trouble at Starbucks or Dunkin. Maybe they don’t have the magical machine? I like to just grab a baked great and then hit a Dunkin drive through for my coffee. That combo is what hits the spot. Of I’m in a pinch, their coffee will do; it’s definitely drinkable.

Extremely unimpressed. Arrived with my kids after 1:00 pm on a Saturday. Ordered Mac and Cheese, was told it would take too long as it wasn’t ready. Ordered chili. Received half a portion in the cup. When I said something I was told that was all they had, the rest was frozen. No offer for reimbursement. So I paid full price for half a portion. It may have been tasty but the three scoops weren’t enough to evaluate. He then disappeared, never to be seen again. The latte was a bit weak, but hot. The place was empty besides us. Now I understand why. Overall poor customer service and apathetic employee will result in my probably not returning.
