Beef is way too overcooked and had too much season on it, maybe it’s the day after mother’s day and all the slackers who have the least seniority prepared the food yesterday. The pizza roll was 2.90 and it was a pizza roll, under 4 oz of food. Not worth 9 bucks for small Pepsi, pizza roll, and small beef. It is definitely cheaper than most other places but the quality was lacking for the beef. I would conclude that consistency is not it’s strong point after my 3rd visit. It;s too bad because I really liked having this place as my go to.

Eaten here a few times. It’s one of those places where when the alcohol takes effect your surroundings don’t matter. Kinda like that raunchy girl at the bar. When u went and ordered your first drink u were skeeved just looking at her. After your fifth shot you would swear it was Cindy Crawford mid 90s. I have never eaten here sober. When I am intoxicated im like a pregnant woman on the hunt for haagan daaz. The drive through lines late night are usually three miles long. Makes me wonder if the alcohol and the roast beef got some kind of contract. The alcohol says the pizza rolls roast beef and pastrami with tacos are good.

I’ve never been inside Always drive thru Always at night It’s jus good late night food when everything is closed jus like all other reviewers say Food is getting pricey now They used to be a Big Bang for the buck Peaking thru drive thru window the place looks unsanitary and dust around the window seems to be caked on and probably never cleaned even the window looks dirty

Tried this place with my friend Alex. I ordered the wings. They were actually excellent including the real hot sauce. The cashier almost forgot to give the change back but, other than that, the wait wasn’t bad for a weekend.

There’s really nothing special about this place. The only thing I like is the sauce they put on the tacos which makes it taste better. To me, it just looks like this place uses too much oil in their food. Everything else I found completely unappealing.

You have to love the place for the name alone. Big and Beefy sounds more like the name of super size burger or… an adult film.

I like this place. You can’t miss the enormous black and yellow sign when driving down Broadway in Lawrence. It’s cheap, and the roast beef is pretty damn good. It’s soft and chewy, not sinewy and stringy. You can get a bunch of toppings(all free i believe)„ a good size roast beef sandwich fries, and a drink for like $ 5. Maybe less. You can’t really beat that. People in the drive-thru are accomodating and friendly. I’m a repeat customer, and I’d definitely go back.

A great place to hit up after the bars close, but if you don’t feel like waiting in that long line, there’s a chimi truck up the street that’s really good also

5 stars for convenience. 3 for the food. Quick, easy, and satisfying. Cheese sticks and poppers were incredible, the pizza roll was«eh» at best. Worth a try(or two) especially late night.

My mom always warned me this place was awful as I grew up in Lawrence. We’d pass by it and she’d tell me people at work would buy it and it would look awful. However, she was very wrong. In 1996 or so, I finally tried the place, and to my surprise it was pretty good. I went here betwen 1996 and 2003 a good 2 dozen times or so, more during 1999 – 2000 when I was finishing high school and driving. This place had a lot of food you could purchase for so little money. I remember loading up. For example… I’d get like 2 hot dogs, 2 tacos, a bacon double cheeseburger, cheese sticks, two pizza rolls that were filled with cheese and sauce I believe, 2 roast beef sandwiches with cheese, a fish sadwich, chicken tenders, and a large strawberry shake and that would be all under $ 20. Everything was like on sale or less than $ 1 or something, that’s how much you could get with $ 20! Sadly, I gave up red meats/pork products, and now I steer away from those things. This place loses a star for one reason. It’s OLD! It had old systems, old headsets, everything was 1970s or 1980s style back then. I am not sure if they’ve updated the place, either. It’s so small, and it’s in a bad area. I believe, in time, this place will close down. A lot of people think it won’t, but if you look at the progression of Lawrence/Broadway, it seems they are changing everything, and the establishment is in the«flood zone», and there is talk that a lot of properties in that area may be bought by the city someday to stop the flooding/make it so that if there are floods there won’t be any properties in that area when the river overflows. Either that, or they’ll re-build the place and give it the same name, only a new, modern hip look, and it will have a big lobby area, et. unlike the current restaurant.

There have been many occasions where I have been out late and needed a quick burger and shake before I headed home and big and beefy is of the only place in Lawrence. Open at late night hours and located on rt 28(Broadway st) it’s in the heart of north Lawrence, an easy drive from anywhere. The menu is a good variety of burgers Sides and shakes. The food is a good portion but prices do run a bit high for the type of food they sell but there isn’t anywhere else in Lawrence you can get this stuff. Service is okay but gets pretty backed up weekend nights. Overall good food, prices bit to high, but nowhere else this good for same kind of food

Big-N-Beefy is a pretty good fast food alternative to the usual McD’s and BK, which is open late at night(at least 2AM), the ideal place to go to after hitting the bars. This Lawrence institution is very old school with much of their business using the drive-thru window. The place also has an order counter and a few tables inside and the restroom is pretty narrow and musty. Big-N-Beefy offers an extensive fast food menu including roast beef sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches(chicken, fish, pastrami, veal), tacos, burritos, fried foods, chili, shakes, soft serve ice cream, Pepsi fountain drinks, and bottled drinks. Breakfast is served until 11AM(breakfast sandwiches, hash browns). Combo meals(with fries & medium drink) are offered plus a Dollar Menu featuring corn dog, hamburger, small fries. and small grilled cheese. I stopped at Big-N-Beefy very recently to grab some dinner since I was craving a roast beef sandwich and some greasy fast food. I ordered a Jr. Roast Beef($ 3.30) with horseradish(n/c) and lettuce(add 20 cents), a small fries($ 1), a small chili($ 2.69), and onion rings($ 2.30), totaling $ 10.08 with tax. The Jr. Roast Beef was very good with medium well(not bloody) thin sliced roast beef on a soft toasted bun. The golden brown fries were crispy and great for dipping into the very greasy and thick bean and meat chili. The breaded onion rings were decent tasting and greasy. Heartburn City! Where are my TUMS??? Actually, some of the pizzas I’ve ordered from various places recently were greasier than the food served here.
