I think this place has closed. Given my last meal here, I applaud if they’re finally gone.

Sigh. We had two decent meals here then they got REALLY bad. Apparently a new manager came in and whatever good qualities the place had got flushed. Avoid.

In the mood for Chinese and low on cash, I decided to give this place a try while in Lawrence. I got one of the all day mini combos: sesame chicken with veggie lomein. The price is actually $ 4.95, with tax $ 5.30. The credit card minimum is only $ 5, which is nice because most places is $ 10. The current photo on here of their menu is not up to date(says $ 3.95), my only complaint. The interior is typical Chinese take-out place, nothing fancy. The portion size was good, and I enjoyed my meal. Service was fast, only about a 5 minute wait. I give them 4 stars because my experience was slightly better than average. I would come back again for a quick, cheap eat.

First couple times I ordered it was actually pretty good but the last time I ordered the food was soooo greasy!!! I couldn’t even finish my meal. They are quick with delivery but I definitely won’t be ordering from them ever again unless they change the cook or how they prepare their food

I decided to try this place today. I requested a veggie Lo Mein with no mushrooms and a small white rice. The man at the counter took my $ 20& gave me my change. The SAME man that cashed me out proceeded to grab a handful noodles and other ingredients for my my Lo Mein with his BAREHANDS, which is absolutely nasty. I immediately requested my money back. The man who started my food was wearing shorts, t-shirt and flip-flops with no had for his hair at all. There was only one man wearing a cook uniform which was complete filthy. FAIRWARNINGTOTHOSEENTERINGTHISESTABLISHMENT. ITSHOULDBEINSPECTEDBYTHEDEPARTMENTOFHEALTH! Before leaving, I asked«would you like it if someone prepared your food without gloves? ABSOLUTELYNASTY! Go somewhere else if you feel like Asian food as there at cleaner and better places in the area.

The quality of the vegetables in their dishes are generally above what you would see in comparable smaller Chinese food places. The kitchen and eating area are all very clean while the prices and portion are all very good also. You could do a lot worse and pay a lot more at many of the other places in the area. I would recommend this place to anybody that I know.

I’ve been to Asian Flavors(located across the street from Tripoli Bakery) several times for lunch and dinner takeout. The food has been good and fresh and the prices here are reasonable. When the place first opened in 2011, the menu choices were basic including when the lunch and dinner combos had similar numbering including choices of one(L) and two(D) appetizers respectively. Currently, the menu choices here are pretty good including the standard Chinese & Szechuan dishes(most under $ 11) and chef’s specialties($ 11.50-$ 14.95). They also offer some of my favorites including chow foon, Yu Hsiang eggplant, pad thai, fish filet in black bean sauce, and shrimp stuffed eggplant. 21 Daily Lunch Specials($ 6.25-$ 7.50) with pork fried rice, white rice, or crab rangoon and soup are offered(except on NYE) until 3PM(other nearby Chinese places in Lawrence don’t offer lunch specials on Sundays). 18 All Day Dinner Combination Plates($ 9.35) are served with pork fried rice or white rice and egg roll, chicken wings or chicken fingers. Combination Appetizers($ 8.50-$ 9.50) served with pork fried rice or white rice and 15 All Day Mini Combos($ 3.95) served with pork fried rice, white rice or veg lo mein are offered also here. On a recent visit, I ordered two of the Mini Combos including the M1 Egg Foo Young with Pork Fried Rice and the M14 Chicken Chow Mein with Veg Lo Mein which came out to around $ 8.50 with tax for both meals. The egg foo young was deep fried firm with chewy roast pork chunks, onions, and egg, gravy in separate cup. The pork fried rice(dark brown) had a firm texture with roast pork chunks and egg. The chicken chow mein and veg lo mein(soft noodles with carrot & cabbage) were both on the oily side with plenty of sprouts, onions, cabbage, and boneless chicken pieces in the clear sauce. There was enough food for three meals, which I enjoyed for my lunches at work. I am still in the mode of trying out other items on the menu on future visits to Asian Flavors.

This is the first Chinese restaurant that I have been to in the area where I felt like the portions were finally on par with the price. Other places I am either stuck hungry, or paying $ 30+ for two. That is not the case at Asian Flavors. I went with the vegetarian’s delight, as I had the veggie dishes at other places and wanted something to compare. $ 6 got me a huge portion of freshly sautéed vegetables. While I wouldn’t say there was a whole lot of flavor in the sauce they cooked it in, it certainly wasn’t bad. They also packaged plenty of sauces with the order. My wife got the combo plate with kung pow chicken, four rangoons, an eggroll, andwhite rice. All that for $ 8! She got a small egg drop soup for $ 2.50 on the side(realistically that was enough for two portions with meals). Neither of us really cared for the egg roll; it tasted like it was just something previously frozen that had been fried/warmed. Or maybe it just wasn’t fresh made. Everything else was great and, once again portions were the right size. We had enough to take to work for lunch the next day. One small caveat to this place is, while they do have a couple small tables, clearly they are geared towards carryout or delivery. Delivery is $ 2, which we may utilize down the road, however they are about a two minute walk from where we live, so when the weather is nice, we will surely just take a stroll.

Wish this place wasn’t in the next town! Great portions and value. Fresh and yummy cashew chicken(brown sauce, not white) the way I like it. Great spring rolls, too.

Pretty good and fast delivery. I ordered the house fried rice which wasn’t loaded with soy sauce and their fried calamari. It was delicious. They even gave free shrimp pockets which were really Yummy.
