I don’t like this chain of retail piano stores. They only carry 2 brands, anything they don’t carry they trash, and even after you tell them to stop calling and mailing because you’ve bought something better elsewhere for less money… they continue to mail and leave messages. Look around. There are better choices out there.

We recently purchased a piano from Jacob’s Music and the experience was outstanding. The store is conveniently located on Route 1 and had several pianos to contrast and compare. If you are looking for a piano in the Steinway family, this is the place to go. We had the good fortune of being helped by Doug Rausch. His passion and knowledge of music, pianos, and finding the right fit for us was fantastic. He helped us understand the differences between the various lines, hear subtleties between pianos and ultimately make the best choice for our family. He also checked in with us afterward to make sure everything met our expectations once the piano was delivered, and was extremely helpful during a followup call to the store. We had an excellent experience buying our piano at Jacob’s music.

Jacobs Music store(Lawrenceville), was a pleasure to work with. In our experience, when dealing with local shops that have experts on the sales force(high end bike shops, guitar shops etc), we usually encounter salespeople that can be condescending and borderline insulting to clients that are new to the craft. Our experience with Jacobs was the opposite scenario. Our salesperson Doug was not only personable and extremely knowledgeable; he was patient and quickly zeroed in on our specific needs. His demonstrations of the differences between pianos old and new were a significant reason for our recent purchase. We learned quite a lot about pitch, variances in sound depth between makes/models and appropriate focus areas regarding piano construction. The piano that we thought we wanted was not the perfect choice(for us), and we are grateful to Doug for helping us avoid a costly mistake. We can say with absolute confidence that Jacobs Music and specifically Doug Rausch is a valuable 1st decision for anyone wishing to purchase a quality piano. Thank you Doug!

Jacobs Music has the best pianos at great prices! They always have great sales. I got my Boston Baby Grand there at a great price and I love it! Norman S. is a great salesman who knows everything about the business. He is very honest about the value and price for each instrument and will help you find the right piano for you and your family!

Great store with great sales people. Doug was super helpful. I had reached out to him over a year ago to start the conversation about buying a piano. We rented and were not satisfied and he helped me to find a better piano to suit our needs. He was honest and so enthusiastic about our purchase. He was very knowledgeable, helpful and diligent about every aspect of our sale and shopping process. He even put up with my kids in the store!

Jacobs Music, which is located in a nondescript strip mall on Business Route 1, carries a large selection of pianos. In fact, they claim to be the largest purveyor of pianos in the central Jersey and greater Philly areas, and service most pianos in the region as well.(At the last Philadelphia Chamber Music Society concert I attended, the program notes mentioned that the piano was from Jacobs Music.) The salesperson who went over different pianos with me, was very helpful, knowledgeable, and accommodating, which made for a very pleasant shopping experience. A must-see if you’re in the market to buy a piano locally.
