Each of the various locations of the Numero Uno franchise offers a really good pizza made to standardized specifications. The main difference between the various locations is defined by the atmosphere of the restaurant and/or the staff. As someone who has been a fan of Numero Uno since the 1970s, the main thing that I have found is that the restaurants have gone from being fairly upscale establishments to become more or less 2 or 3 star facilities. This is not to say this is a bad thing, just that the overall experience of eating at a Numero Uno has changed. This Numero Uno has been located on Hawthorne Blvd, just a block North of Redondo Beach Blvd. for a very long time. It is one of those restaurants that if you are not looking for it you may pass it by as its sign and building does not really stand out. So, if you are in the area and want a really good Numero Uno pizza, keep your eyes open as you drive down Hawthorne Blvd. or you may miss it. The parking for this establishment is a little strange. They do have a few parking spaces in the back but to get to them,(if you are driving down Hawthorne Blvd.), you have to drive through the next-door business’s parking lot. You can also drive down the alley but you have know where that is and if you are not familiar with the area it is a little hard to find. There is free street parking. If you can get a spot in front of the restaurant you are lucky. The problem is, most of the street parking is in the center of the boulevard. So, if you park there you either have to wait for a break in the traffic to run across the street or walk about a block in either direction to cross at a stop light. Inside, the restaurant is simple with a number of booths for its customers. The pizzas and other food is created over to one side behind a glass partition. They have an A rating which is always a good sign. There are a couple of TVs on the wall. The restaurant is clean and the staff is nice but there is nothing that really makes it an inviting place to eat at. It’s just kind of there. Again, this goes back to my original statement about how the Numero Uno chain has changed. This is not a bad thing, it is simply the way it is. Overall good place to catch a great pizza.

Love this spot. It’s moved around A LOT of the years but has always been the same great pizza. It’s now just right up the street from it’s OG location where the mew CVS is on Hawthorne and Redondo. This location is a little smaller bur other than that it’s your typical pizza spot. They have beer, TVs, and a few games for the kids. The only downside os their delivery area is kinda small but it’s definitely worth the drive. If you do nothing else order your pizza with tomato chunks. You’re welcome.

I’ve been eating at Numero Uno since the 90s. After a decade, it’s still the best deep dish pizza in South Bay.

Ordered a delivery a few days ago… I ordered the create your own pasta with the Alfredo sauce and chicken while my friend ordered the same with broccoli and mushroom. We also split an order of mozz sticks. The driver came within the delivery window and was very nice. We were very pleased with our order! We will definitely be ordering from here again. I have heard the pizza is amazing, but I will have to see from myself!

A nice little quaint community orientated spot on Hawthorne. Nothing fancy just solid deep dish by a friendly family. You can get a personal cheese for $ 5. I am going to me coming back quite often. It isn’t Chicago good but I automatically became a fan!

It’s your average Italian restaurant. My boyfriend and I stopped here for lunch. He got the chicken Parmesan sandwich and I got the Italian link sandwich(sausage). I asked for no onions, but it came back with TONS of onions. I let it slide, but eh whatever, it wasn’t bad. It seemed like there were only two people working — the waitress and the cook, but they did a good job handling the lunch crowd. I may go back to try the pizza!

I don’t write reviews but there’s something to be said about waiting an hour and a half, they are 12mins away from my home… Food was ok nothing to brag about. Weird after tasting pasta. Only good thing was the price.

The best customer service for a local spot. My order was ready upon arrival. Even for the small wait, had a beer and a glass of wine. The food was for #UFC193 #RRrules. I miss the location near USC Adam/Figueroa.

Their food is just very obviously half assed in every possible way. They didn’t give me napkins, forks or cheese/pepper with my delivery order. The antipasto salad had gross bits of meat and cheese in it. The bread it came with was so bland it was inedible. The pasta was bland and rubbery and the sauce did not come on the side as I asked. It was just a sugar sauce. Barely any dressing given with salad. I was trying to buy enough food for 2 days, but ended up throwing away most of it. If you have no choice, like if someone is holding a gun to your head or you’re starving or whatever, this is fine. But if you have a choice, choose something else.

My favorite pizza place I have been coming to since I was a child. One of my best memories is spending Friday or Saturday night here for dinner with the family. The dine in special is perfect. Pizza salad wings & mozarella sticks. Just perfect! Get the thick crust pizza with tomato chunks you won’t regret it! Love this place

Why is this pizza crust so sweet? The taste of the sauce was two stars but the lack of flavor within the actual Sicilian style crust was what sealed its one star fate for me. Wanted water and got the worst tap I’ve ever had. The place was ok in cleanliness. That was about the best part of it. Never again.

I spend my weekends in Redondo Beach and was looking for a pizza place. I gave this place a shot and man it’s good. So far I’ve had their pepperoni and sausage calzone and a pepperoni and Canadian bacon pizza. Both tastes great. Their crust and dough has a sweet taste to it. Definitely a must try.

I got the meat lovers 7 inch deep dish. The crust was buttery and crispy. I ordered a side salad with Italian dressing which was out of a grocery store dressing bottle. The only thing good about the side salad were the pickled onions. I got the chocolate mousse cake which was delicious. It has a cookie crumble chocolate crust and whipped cream. It was a comfort food night and it was tasty.

I felt like I was in one of those teen movies on a friday night in the mid-west. Thats what the atmosphere was like, thats how the food tasted. Nothing special and nothing to rave about by SoCal standards. They offer both chicago and new york style pizzas. They did have good tasting crust but yeah, id rather have dominos or something.

This location is just ok. We were the only people in the restaurant and the workers appeared too busy to help us. Our waiter hardly checked on us and left our food sitting on the kitchen counter long after it was ready. The food was off. The bread rolls were very chewy like they microwaved it before toasting it, the pizza crust tasted bland, and our fountain sodas tasted like carbonated brown liquid. We ended up asking for canned sodas. Over all the experience left more to be desired.

3-Stars is a stretch(wish you could give ½ a star on Unilocal as they’d be a solid 2.5) as the food and time for delivery are hit-and-miss but I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt as I ordered on a Sat night with college football and UFC181. I’m sure they were swamped but nonetheless, it took over an hour to get a medium pizza and two personal pan pizza’s for the kiddos. When the food finally came it was average at best. The kids munched down the personal pizzas but they’re easy to please. I got a Thin Crust Ham and Pineapple and added Jalapeño. The crust was not crisp at all, very disappointing. It was actually a little mushy, almost under cooked. I ended up tossing it in the oven for about 5 – 10 minutes, which helped but was definitely a bummer after already waiting an hour. I suppose Numero Uno is a step above other chains like Dominos, Pizza Hut or Poppa Johns but it’s a very tiny step in my opinion. Next time I’m craving pizza I will order from Scardinos and just pick it up. Yeah, it kind of blows to have to get in the car but it takes less than an hour and the quality is much, much better.

Solid moderately priced deep dish pizza. I believe the large«the works» pizza was about 18 bucks. Easily fed 3 people. The dough they use there is a sweeter dough but it is really good. It kinda reminds me of a kings Hawaiian sweet bread taste. We also ordered a house salad which was all right. Nothing too special. Place was empty at 7 on a Wednesday night. There’s a few parking spots in the back so on crowded nights I imagine parking being a hassle. I would come back here again.
