Manhattan Beach Towing

I read a lot of the negative reviews here and frankly they are nothing like my experience with this company.
I received nothing but fast, courteous and professional service from Mo (my driver).
He arrived quickly, was extremely careful with my Truck (almost brand new) — and provided support in every aspect of his duties.
I highly recommend Manhattan beach Towing. Not sure what happened to others– but I had a fantastic experience!

I got a flat tire and AAA sent manhattan beach tow, the tow truck driver said he they don’t have the right size socket to take off my lug nuts because I had «special» lug nuts (which is a crock because other tow truck drivers HAVE changed my tires before) so they said they can tow me to a tire shop. I was already late for work and didn’t have time so I called aaa and asked for another company to come out, I then spoke to the dispatch at manhattan beach tow and he said nobody will be able to change my tire, I told him that others have done it before and he proceeded to yell at me like it was my fault they couldn’t change my tire and I should call the other company, then he hung up on me. the dispatch guy is very rude & they try to get you to be towed to a tire shop instead of just changing a tire to the spare so they can get more money. Aaa should not use this company, they’re crooks. I put in a complaint to AAA, after seeing all manhattan beach tows bad reviews it seems like they are still up to no good. I don’t know why AAA still uses them. It’s now 6 hours later and my car is still sitting with a flat tire. I only wanted my spare tire put on because I can’t afford a new tire at the moment so that’s why i didn’t have it towed to a shop for a new tire. Manhattan Beach Tow is garbage.

Honestly, just such a bummer the way they run their company. I know of the owners & I thought they were cool people. Not sure how they sleep at night… Long story short– We were near Hawthorne Blvd & Rosecrans, driving with my 2 year old, there was no street parking & my daughter was crying from the back seat because she had to use the restroom so bad. Traffic was bad & other than pulling on the side of the road, we had no choice but to pull over for for literally 3 minutes in the vet parking lot (Hawthorne Dog & Cat), run her in to the flower shop & come back out. We are clients of the vet & the flower shop, know the owners, didn’t think it would be an issue. It wasn’t until when we came back to the parking lot, our car was already on the bed of a tow truck. The guy had no heart. I get it– they have a contract, they want to make money. But, we ran in for literally no more than 4 minutes & the guy was a TOTAL jerk about it. I’m a single mom, barely making it & there was no grace, no warning, no option– we had to pay $ 150 on the spot, no questions asked for the jerk to even release my car from his tow bed. And that it would be $ 250 from the tow yard if he took it in. Again, I get it, BUT I just feel there should be some sort of warning first or AT LEAST a smaller fee. That’s pretty ridiculous! Not to mention, they have ONE, tiny sign for the parking situation in the corner of the parking lot. Total waste of money & TERRIBLE way for a company to conduct they way they get their money. Total crooks. This company should really revisit the way they they do things because right now it SUCKS! I thought this was an agreement/​contract Hawthorne Dog & Cat has with the towing company. I talked to the manager, she was very upset this is the way they do it & had no idea it was this bad. She apologized & said she was going to talk to the owner but there was understandably nothing she could do. I was told this towing company knows the parking lot policies of certain companies in the area & they just willingly sit there and wait for someone to park there & throw their car on the tow bed just to get $ 150. I know times are tough nowadays, but this is a pretty low way to conduct business & make money. And now reading all the other reviews, its pretty much confirmed that THIS TOWING COMPANY SUCKS.

This place does not deserve this one star. This company consists of shady and extremely incompetent people who unsurprisingly don’t know how to run a credit card. Told me my credit card was declined but they simply could not dictate the series of numbers correctly. This was so inconvenient for me. I really hope they do not try to pull any identity theft scams with my info… I highly suggest you avoid this company at all costs.

I had an absolutely great experience with this company. I called Triple A immediately when my motorcycle engine died on Hawthorne and Marine. This was the only time when the tow truck driver actually loaded the motorcycle on his flatbed instead of me pushing the bike on the ramp. The driver was courteous, and towed me to the Motorcycle shop down the street. Did not have an issue.

IF YOU ARE A AAA MEMBER CALL AAA AND MAKE A COMPLAINT ON THIS COMPANY.
This company not only towed my car for no reason but held it and refused to let it out until I payed over 300 dollars. When I did so, the ran the car into another car. Dead serious.
I called AAA and complained about this company, and I highly suggest everyone does the same thing. They informed me that this kind of behavior is not something they want from towing services under them and are seeking to rid themselves of this company. They just need enough complaints to do so.

At 5AM today, our tire blew out and we called AAA. CSAA sent Manhattan Beach Towing (MBT) and they arrived at 6AM. The tow tuck driver looked at our spare tire and told us that the rim was rusted and deflated. He refused put it on despite our asking. He told us to wait and redial AAA at 8 AM so that he could tow us to the nearest tire shops (opens at 8AM).
So we waited 2 hours and called AAA again but asked to be towed 30 miles instead of 2 miles like the MBT employee wanted us to. MBT told AAA that they don’t tow that far so AAA sent Frank Scotto Towing.
John W., our tow tuck driver from Frank Scotto towing looked at our spare and said it was fine. He inflated it and put it on within a minute.
What we gathered was either the MBT driver hated putting on tires (doubtful) or he was paid more to tow than to change tire (confirmed). Because of the greed and unprofessionalism of this MBT employee, my wife ended up missing an important meeting at work.
I DON’T KNOW WHY CSAA /​AAA RECOMMENDS MANHATTAN BEACH TOWING???

If I could give negative stars, I would. If you look at my previous reviews, you will notice that I am not one to hand out horrible ratings. However, in this instance, I absolutely loathe this business and its practices. I have never been yelled at or spoken to by anyone in such a negative manner. Mike, the manager, is quite possibly one of the rudest, loudest, and unprofessional human beings I have ever had the experience of speaking with. Regardless of the issue, no manager should ever yell at their customers so loudly that the conversation over the phone can be heard across the apartment. I am currently in the process of dealing with this business and prefer not to go into too much detail of the situation; however, I am utterly appaulled at the managment of the company. No one should ever be spoken to in such a manner. If I were to speak to someone in the same way that Mike spoke to me, I would be fired on the spot. There are so many other factors that play into this rating, but I would rather wait until my current situation is resolved before delving further. However, this towing company should be avoided at ALL COSTS! What sucks is that they are a AAA company. This company should not be allowed to represent AAA, a company known for their excellent customer service. Something needs to be done about this company and its manager, Mike.
Once I receive a resolution to my current situation, I will update the status. Maybe Manhattan Beach Towing will redeem itself and earn a few more stars, but from its current standing, I highly doubt it.
