Charlie is the best! Did a lesson with the whole family. He’s inspiring, generous, and full of great stories while you’re waiting to catch a wave. He provides good equipment for beginners, and all around provided a fantastic lesson.

I have taken lessons with Charlie three times on two different trips to Kauai. I have also sent clients, friends, and family to Charlie when they are on Kauai. He is a great instructor and makes sure the location for your lesson is on the part of the island with the best surf conditions for your ability. Last year I vacationed on Oahu but before I went I contacted Charlie to get his recommendations for a surfing instructor there.

Charlie is the best teacher everrrr! He is so kind, sweet, easy going, awesome, and just an all around kind hearted person.
I’ve never surfed before but he got me up on the second wave I caught which was amazing! He’s got an amazing life and loves what he is doing and gives back to the community. I recommend him over any other surfing school out here. He’s a professional surfer and knows the island– so he’ll hook you up! His prices are affordable vs. the other surfing schools I’ve seen. HE’S THE BEST!

Charlie is a great teacher. Got me up on the first wave and spent lots of tie getting me to feel confident catching waves by myself. Next time I am in Kauai I will make sure to book another lesson for the kids if they are with us. I highly recommend Charlie to anyone that is looking for a first time lesson.

Charilie is the absolutely ideal surf instructor! He knows the island like the back of his hand, is a pro, wants you to have fun, and is encouraging but also challenging. He gave us a stand up paddle board lesson and a couple days later a surf lesson and he was fantastic. My husband and I have been learning for awhile, but we made quick progress with Charlie. He was also super helpful with advice about good spots for surfing, equipment, etc. On top of everything else, he’s a nice guy!
