If I could give this place 0 stars I would. The original La Palapas service is so much better. The wait for a drink order was 10 – 15 minutes. The wait for an appetizer was another 25. The wait for the main entrée was about half an hour. And to get a check… I was about ready to stand up and yell look at me so they could give me a check. Never again. Don’t waste your time go to the original in Ellicott City!

The food is not fresh. There was hair in my food, and instead of giving the meal for free, they still charged me and just brought out a new meal. I wasn’t hungry for it anymore.

Okay Mexican food. Not the best. Also pretty overpriced. The service is good, though.

Absolutely the worst Cinco de mayo. A few years back I went to La Palapa in Ellicott City. I should’ve went back to Ellicott City. We went for a DJ and drink specials. The drink specials were not so special and the DJ turned out to be karaōke. We dealt with songs so untraditional to Latin or Spanish festivities. I could have went to Remingtons and had a better time. I almost waived down a plane trying to get a bartenders attention. I definitely will not be back. At least to this location but after today I really have a bad taste in my mouth.

This Laurel restaurant has gone down-hill. I had dinner at La Palapa Too on Saturday night, April 16, 2016. The food was served cold, service was terrible, the server was rude, and the hip-hop music was loud and distracting. Never again. Nope.

Miriam, the hostess business owner is rude. We were seated at a table for the six of us. We asked to be moved b/c the air conditioning was blowing straight on us. She didn’t want to accommodate us to move to another table we pointed out. She said a party was coming in and there would be a baby. There was never a baby at that table so she lied. She did turn off the air conditioning so that we would not have to freeze to death as we ate. She has difficulty working with the public and never smiles. Working with the public requires skills she obviously does not have.

La Palapa Too is a good Mexican joint. The service usually leaves a bit to be desired(on our most recent visit we had to ask for refills for both beverages and chips), but the food is delicious enough to keep you coming back. The fish tacos are some of the best I’ve ever had and the quesadillas are also very good. The food comes out quickly and is always hot and fresh. I would definitely recommend checking out this place next time you’re in the Fulton area!

When I heard that La Palapa had opened another location, I was instantly concerned as usually when good restaurants expand out they tend to sacrifice quality and have problems. To my surprise, La Palapa Too has sacrificed neither quality nor aesthetics in their expansion. The food tastes just as good as in their original locale. I felt the service wasn’t as good but it wasn’t terrible either(it could well have been because it was a bit busy). Well done La Palapa!

Food has always been great. However, the bartender has a very unfriendly attitude and makes you feel bad for ordering a drink. She greets customers with«I have been trying to close for the last hour. Please order now if you’re going to. »

Great food, great service. Couldn’t ask for much more. Prices are a little high, but that’s expected for this area.

This is the Second location of this restaurant that I’ve tried. Still super fresh salsa and awesome Texas Chimichangas. Live music playing was a nice touch. I must visit when in the area

My fiancée and I went yesterday and ordered a California burrito and a beef burrito. The food was cooked really well and tasted amazing. I had their house drink(cazueca) i think that’s how u spell it and the mojito. The mojito was strong just the way I like it. They aren’t stingy with the alcohol. The house drink was good but it had so much fruit in it i could barely taste the tequila. Our waitress however was nice but her personality underwhelmed me. It seemed like it was her first time serving. Other than that I love this place. Will be back for a cheat meal.

If I could give 0 stars, I would, but it requires me to give at least one. That one star is NOT deserved. I ordered from La Palapa Too last night via . I placed an order for the Cuatro Combination(which was on the menu at ) with two enchiladas and two tacos. I received a call about 15 minutes later informing me that La Palapa no longer had the cuatro combination, and asking if I would like something else instead. So, I asked if they still had the dos combination platter, thinking I would just split the order into two dos combinations, one with two tacos and and one with two enchiladas. I was told that the restaurant no longer does combination platters at all. So, I was very disappointed and canceled my order. If it is not available, it shouldn’t be on the menu. If it is on the menu and someone orders it, then the restaurant should make sure they get it if at all possible. This was a matter of giving me the enciladas and tacos I ordered(which they have) for the price I thought I was going to pay. Then, carryout menus and La Palapa Too could work it out among themselves, but KEEPTHECUSTOMERHAPPY. At any rate, later, when I went to the restaurant’s own website, their menu still had the dos combination platter. So… why couldn’t my order be switched? Why was I told that they don’t have something that is on their own menu? Why was I unable to get something that was on the menu that I ordered from? Thanks to this experience, I will NOT be going to La Palapa Too EVER, nor will I use carryoutmenus again.

The food was very bland, both of our entrees tasted mostly like tomatoes and the fryers. We both thought it was closer to Italian food than Mexican food. We had the chimichanga, Chile relleno, and a chicken enchilada. The queso appetizer is very greasy and has no spice or pepper flavor. The service is alright, slow and disorganized but some are friendly.

I have never had a bad experience in the establishment. The food is good and the service has been adequate. I’ve seen post from people reviewing this place that seem to only have bad experiences on their feed. To me that says that they’re either the a-holes you hope you dont get sat next to, or unreasonably picky. The type to order a meal and change the whole thing and then complain because the staff forgot to remove the shrimp from the seafood enchilada. Or maybe I’m just lucky. Either way i enjoy this restaurant, the service, and the food. Next time i go I’ll order a Monsterita and get jiggy for all you negative nancys! #StopHatingTheyreGood The parking does suck, but there are a few other good restaurants in the parking lot. So i cant hold that against the tenants. Even from the street La Palapa Too isn’t a far walk. Just go!

Good Mexican food at a reasonable price. The menu has a lot of variety, and it’s pretty good quality. For take out I did a combination platter, and they gave me reasonable portions of rice and beans. The beans had a unique flavor, a little smoky, which I didn’t particularly care for, but my chile relleno, enchilada, and tostada were all spot on.

This has been our fav Mexican restaurant for quite some time. The atmosphere is cozy and festive. Many evening visits you’ll find a mariachi band! The queso is great! Not runny or chunky. But to kick things up a notch, ask for the habanero salsa. Made fresh daily, it’ll light you up! The combinations are great to share. Two hard or soft tacos with rice and beans are a great choice. One person can get both hardshell and the other soft or one of each. The hard shells don’t fall apart like many do and they are STUFFED with meat, lettuce, cheese, and diced tomatoes. The beef isn’t «taco meat» and is richer tasting than most recipes. In some respects, it almost bland and can taste of too much chili powder. For something different, the Mexican Seafood Chowder is simply amazing. Creamy and seafood yumyum! This, plus chips and queso is a meal that’ll fill you fine. If you visit them for Sunday brunch, you must try the Breakfast Burrito or Breakfast Quesadilla. Either are refreshing and filling. Highly recommend your trying them finding your favorite dishes!

Okay food. Great ambience. Karla, the server, was very nice. She came over to our table but did not annoy us with the«How’s the food?» «How are you doing» questions. This is not irrelevant to my review but every time the servers come by to check up on the food, I always have a mouthful of food or I’m biting into something. Very odd, but anyways, going back to the review. The food came out quick since we were here around 3 – 3:30 and it was fairly empty. No major complaint, except for getting my beer order wrong.

I was with a group of five and we just wanted to grab dinner, drinks and to hang out. We sat at the bar tables and had Herman as our server. He seemed okay at first. Then. We noticed. He disappeared. We never got water. We had to wave him down multiple times for multiple things. The bar and restaurant didn’t seem all that busy… We really believe he was slacking. The group usually drinks a few beers and chat but after we ate our dinner we wanted to leave asap. That’s how frustrating service was. Our food… I had chicken mole enchilada… Basic enchilada. Nothing great but not awful. There wasn’t any melty cheese on top. Rice was a small portion and just not good. Beans were dry and flavorless. I’ve never had mole sauce from anywhere else so I don’t know what to compare it to. So I’ll say this was okay. It is a little sweet and BBQ like. My bf got some Texas chimichanga dish. He could only finish half the chimichanga. I had a bite and it tasted like the queso. That’s all I could taste. I’m not too sure how my bf liked his dish. I wouldn’t order tj again for myself though. Iiiii… Think I’m done with any la palapa s. I will try very hard to not come to any of them again. It’s just not good. I don’t know why I’ve wasted my time and money with them.
