I went in here and was greeted nicely by the crew, but as I proceeded to order my sub, I spotted a pair of atrocious cock-roaches crawling against the wall scattering, I immediately felt disgusted as I addressed the roaches they tried to play it off and make it seem like they had no idea what I was talking about, as I pointed to the roach that was still visible the manager quickly addressed me and tried to steer the conversation elsewhere asking me did I want a bag of Ms Vickies chips and that they would be free as a courtesy, I grew with rage due to the fact that the conversation was steered elsewhere and that my thoughts and comments were irrelevant to anything that he was saying, his breath smelled like a saloon ! For a second I thought maybe it’s just the cologne he has on but it was straight intoxication coming from his aroma HEWASDRUNK!!! I felt extremely uncomfortable to the point where I literally ran out of there, NEVERAGAIN ! Absolutely atrociously disgusting !

Best tasting cheesesteak in the area. The cheese isn’t just melted on top(this isn’t a cheese melt) nor melted on the bottom of the sub roll(hate that) — it’s fried with the meat. Each biteful of cheesesteak is a co-mingling of savory cheese, tender meat, crisp shredded lettuce and thinly sliced tomatoes. I normally get the foot long and even though I’m full midway through, I continue to eat cause it’s just that yummy. The only misstep is the sub roll. It’s too bready and not soft enough, but that doesn’t stop me from plowing through this sandwich.

I would say 3.5 out of 5 if I could They make some pretty good lunch subs compared to anyone else from this area that I go to for lunch during work. I’m from new jersey and this somewhat or kind of close to a «jersey style sub» you’d get at a mom and pop like Tastee Subs. Their staff is very friendly and they also have fun while they are handling lunch rush. The one thing that I would have to knock off a star is that if you get takeout it can get pretty soggy because they really go OD on the oil and vinegar unless you tell them other wise I think the bread is pretty decent and the turkey tastes good. Oh and the lettuce and their mayo are bangin incase anyone cares about those items of a sub

This place has some of the best sub’s I have ever tasted. #42(regular) with everything, mayo, chipolte mayo, and hots. This is the chicken cheese steak, and it’s the real deal. Certified…

I’m always so impressed when I come here. The entire staff look to be all teenagers or college-age, but the customer service is 5 stars every time. You’re always greeted when you come in, staff is friendly, orders are made carefully with attention to special requests, and there’s a nice level of conversation and interaction — overall, it’s just a really pleasant experience to come here. Sandwiches are consistently good, typical of a jersey mikes franchise location — no complaints. But I think what really makes this location shine is the staff. I hope they’re being paid well and getting rewarded for the level of professionalism they show — they deserve it.

They’re good, but don’t order anything online. Three times now I’ve ordered through the site only to find that they hadn’t even looked at my order when I got to the store. I shouldn’t have to wait 25 minutes for a sub that I ordered 15 minutes ago. If you’re in a rush and don’t want to wait in line, just call ahead.

I like Jersey Mike’s but today was special. I’ve been in Maryland for 11 months and this was the BEST service I’ve received in fast food. The young man, who’s only 19, was such an awesome salesman. Yes, I said saleman. He convinced my partner to try something different. Great sandwich as always!

My friend was treating me to lunch, and since I am a fan of subs and sandwiches I was looking forward to it. This was my first visit to JMs. BADBREAD. I mean bread that tastes like nothing – a sponge, it was hard and just not worth putting anything in it. Their bread should be outlawed. Italian meats were SUPER salty and the only thing that was a huge sign that they were not the best quality. So my experience for lunch(which by the way I could not eat but 3 bites and decided to give the crows in the parking lot the rest of the sandwich-sorry crows.) was so disappointing. PROS Friendly staff CONS Anything deemed edible A bit pricey for the low quality

I’m gonna update this review simply because of the staff here. They’ve got it going on! Now, I’m not saying their food has improved. It’s still good, but it will never be Philly good… for that, I’d recommend doing the 90 minute drive up to Tony Luke’s. That being said, Jersey Mike’s is one of the better approximations for the area. The employees, though, are impressive! I swear the guy behind the counter had eidetic memory. Customer after customer pouring in and he’s there, shaving meat for sandwiches and taking orders without a mistake. And all with a smile too! So, I’m upping my rating a star, not for the food(which is still A-OK!) but for the great staff that do a heck of a job all while being friendly and on top of everything.

Simply stated: this is the best sandwich chain near my office. The ingredients are always fresh, the service is SUPER-friendly, and the prices are reasonable considering the overall value for what you get. I’d had JM down in Atlanta years ago, and I was hoping they would make their way up to Maryland some day. Little did I know this chain actually was started in New Jersey(okay, I guess I kind of figured that out), or that it would grow rapidly to now be found in airports and all over the East Coast. The closest one to my office is about a 15 minute drive each way(less if traffic is decent), and it’s rapidly becoming a weekly favorite among our lunch crew here. Why? Simple: because the food is so gosh-darn good. Their roast beef(cooked in house, I hear) is nothing short of delectable. It’s made to a perfect medium-rare to medium(nicely red/pink throughout), and it has a pleasant seasoning to it. The other meats are pre-packaged standard deli selections(i.e. squared ham, giant ball o’ turkey), but they are sliced fresh right in front of you and per order. Otherwise, they are kept in the chill chest. I really appreciate that. I know it’s just about as fresh as deli meats can get. The bread has to be made in house, or if not, then somewhere local. It’s always very fresh. I haven’t had one of their hot subs yet, but they seem to always have one on the grill, so I’m guessing they are pretty popular, too. A few months back, I would have definitely complained about the joint, as it was far from clean, not very fast, and only marginally friendly. They really seemed to have righted the ship of late, though, and my past few visits(maybe 5?) have been exemplary. Keep it up, Jersey Mike’s! I really want to keep coming back!

Inside it’s a neat, tidy sub shop resembling a dine-in Subway. The staff are friendly and when I asked for their most popular sub the answer I got was, «the #13 Italian Cold Cut.» Being a first timer, I had to try it and got it «Mike’s Way» which is oil and vinegar with the normal toppings. That’s usually what I put on my cold cuts. Paid $ 8 for a mini sub and a drink. Pricey, yeah? The following is why I took off two stars. First bite impressions: the bread was tough, and even though the sub was practically soaked in oil and vinegar, I still found myself reaching for my drink because it was a bit dry. The cold cut meats, although good, were overpowered by the bread. The lettuce and tomato toppings didn’t taste very fresh… But I will admit that I’m a narc when it comes to fresh vegetables. What bothered me might not bother other people. Maybe I should’ve gotten one of their cheese steaks– probably would’ve complimented the bread better. Who knows if I’ll be back again but until then, I can only say that I’ve had a better Italian cold cut at a better price.

Went back here again to give it another try and I regret it. The person who took my order made eye contact with me and when I was about to say what I was going to order, he looked away and went off to do something else. So after waiting for another few minutes, he finally asks me what I want, I place my order, but he never asked if I wanted any toppings on it. I thought that if you wanted toppings, you would just let them know after they made the sub, but nope, you have to tell them as soon as you order.(Apparently, it’s different if you order a cold sub.) It would have been nice to know because who wants a plain boring cheese steak? Then after paying for my sub, I waited over 15 minutes for them just to cook a plain cheese steak while people ordering cold subs 10 mins after me paying for it already had their food and were eating it. Even the person after me who ordered 2 hot subs had theirs before I got mine. I’m glad that I waited for 15 mins for an okay cheese steak sub that wasn’t even hot, it was slightly warm.

Friendly, funny, interesting staff that most certainly cares for the customers and the quality of their food. One employee who made my friend’s sandwich asked while we were eating if the sandwich(chicken parm) was made ok, which reflects the pride she took in her work. Other employees also walked around asking if they could help with anything, which is a plus, especially for a fast casual sandwich place. Food wise, the chicken bacon ranch was delicious. Comparable if not better than other sub chains

Greatly crafted hero aka ‘sub’. Cut to order and getting it the Mike’s Way adds to the great taste. The staff is friendly and gives good service. Def recommend.

I’m from NJ I wanted to see it their subs stood up to the ones from home. So I stopped by to try it out and I was blown away. First by how great the workers there are. Mostly high school aged kids that actually had great customer service skills(really impressed). Love how the deli meat is sliced in front of you when you order. Then to the bread, absolutely perfect. Thick enough to soak up all the vinegar and oil they put on and soft as well. The toppings were spot on and fresh. Heaps of thinly shredded lettuce, tomatoes, white onions(not purple), lots of oil and vinegar and oregano are key ingredients in what makes a jersey sub a jersey sub. Totally took me back to the corner deli that made them from back home. I’m so happy that I found a great sub place, but now I’m worried that it might become a new obsession.

Never heard of this place before trying it out today. I am not even sure if this is a chain or not. But damn, they seriously need to consider buying out the Evil Empire known as Jimmy John’s. Mike’s sure in hell knows how to make a sandwich and they actually give you enough meat on your sandwich to full you up!!! Something JJ’s is sorely incapable of, giving the customer value for their money. I really like the vibe in this place. Mostly younger people working to get the sandwiches made asap. Decent size for dining in with two TVs for your viewing pleasure. Enough room to even accommodate the lunch crowd. I really enjoyed being able to chill here for about an half hour on my lunch break. I can see myself stopping by here a few times a month.

Pretty good subs for fast food. Bread is somewhat fresh, if you get there too early they use yesterday’s old stuff. Regardless I have ordered several types & sizes of subs & they are all good. The steak & cheeses are not as good as you would think though. Stick with the cold subs if you are picky about cheesesteaks.

Luv me some Jersey Mike’s. I guess this location has been here around 3 years. I didn’t know. I just found out about three weeks ago and have already been six times. The first time I ordered(and ate) two subs, I was that excited.(Used to eat at another location in another city and it had been a while.) With the help of the ICC I am able to pop over to this outer Laurel location with relative ease. Thank goodness! I recommend the steak sub. So reeeally good. And not that Philly style I don’t like, with the chopped up meat(bleh). This is just slices of steak with peppers and onions. And the peppers they use are sweet reds, not bitter greens, so all the better. They also make their own roast beef, which is delicious. And their own bread. This is one of the few places I will order a sub on white and not feel guilty about it. Beware though: When they say«Mike’s way» they mean drenched in oil and vinegar so your sub will be WET. If you don’t like or want that let them know. This is definitely the best chain sub place and the best sub place overall in the DMV. I’m sure in Jersey it’s «just another sub joint» but we ain’t in Jersey(small mercies).
