When I went there I had been having bad experiences with dentists. He gave me a reference to a good orthopaedic surgeon to have an implant on one of my wisdom teeth that had a failing crown. This along with his supportiveness to floss every day, to make it habit, helped me get gingivitis under control. Now it is just a regular health visit and I like to come in twice a year and actually makes me think twice about snacking since that keeps food particles around for hours. When you loose a tooth you start to listen to your dentist or ignore him at your peril.

I hate going to the dentist, but it needs to be done. I have a mild phobia and I explain this to each dentist I go to. I explained it in great detail to Dr. Bae, it was a waste of time. He harped about the flossing, I explained that because my gums bleed easily I didn’t floss often. He was down right nasty about me not flossing, not brushing 3 times a day, not coming to him 4 times a year, and on and on. I figured it was just me being uncomfortable with the dentist. He did the same thing to both of my kids who actually like going to the dentist. They hated going to him. He then made disparaging remarks about our(my wife and I) ability to parent because our kids do not floss 3 times a day. I don’t know if he is worth a darn as a dentist but his manner is deplorable.

Dr: Do you floss at least once a day? Me: um, no Dr: don’t you know that you should? Me:(thinking, nah really?) This line of condescending remarks went on and on and freaking on. Gee, sorry I don’t have OCD when it comes to flossing. When my X-Ray came out perfect, I just wanted to go, «BOO-YA!» He went on about how his associate racks in $ 20,000 per month and I’m like, is he seriously trying to boast how much he makes? So not cool. The whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth.
