Best burgers and steaks. Only disappointment ever is getting food to go, it is always wrong :(

This was the most disgusting meal I have ever had. My husband and I were seriously concerned about getting food poisoning. We had steamers, which we waited an hour for and were horrible. I’m not even sure they were steamers. We also ordered a seafood platter that was inedible. Waitress was asked 3 times to give us extra plate and never did. Service was slow. I would starve before returning. Stay away.

First time I ordered food to go. Get there 20 min after and I see the bartender say to a waitress the«chef just came in.» Waited 30 minutes for a hamburger. Take 2 I order 2 hamburgers and a grill cheese at 6:50pm. I get there 7:15. Waiting at bar till 7:45. No food still. Bartender says kitchen is backed up. Empty tables. Etc. she’s bullshitting and running lottery tickets. This place blows and I’m writing this from the bowl at midnight with stomach cramps. I told the women take a picture of me cause you will never see me again. Worst service ever.

Cliffs is a North Fork staple. A sister establishment to Cliffs Rendezvous and Elbow they are most famous for their marinated porterhouse. On Sundays you will find $ 5 marinated burgers and on Tuesdays a soup to nuts steak meal for $ 20. Aside from a great value, the owner is nothing short of a great guy who gives to his community and to his patrons.

We have been here several times and the food and service has always been good. The $ 5.00 Sunday Burgers are a great deal.

Never again, burnt burgers, cold mashed potatoes. Nasty chicken francais, seafood platter was simply gross. 4 people in my group and we all didnt like it. It took over an hour to get our food, 45min just to get salads. Our food was cold and yet was told they were waiting on the mashed potatoes, when it finally came it was cold, not even warm. Stay for the beer. Go, elsewhere for food.

Ive been a big fan of the elbow room for years. I always get the surf and turf with my steak marinated. Over the last few years ive noticed the quality of the steak go down hill. I kept going back because the lobster tails were always cooked perfectly and the French fries were just perfection. After my last visit to the elbow room my lobster tail qas like a piece of rubber. I couldn’t even chew it. I decided to send it back and get another. The new tail was better but not amazing. I really hope this place stops cuttingcorners becauee this used to ve one of my ffavorite causal restaurants. As for the service it basically reflects the décor. The waitresses have always been ok but a bit rough around the edges. I would have given 4 stars but after my last meal im quite disappointed and im not sure if ill be back. One more thing when this place has lobster bisque as a special order it. Its one of the best ive ever tasted. Its more of a lobster chowder with huge tender chunks of lobster. They haven’t offered it in a while but its worth a call to see if its on the menu

I’ve been going to the Elbow Rooms for almost 40 years for their marinated steaks. This time I was disappointed. Lunch Special Shell Steak $ 13.95 was undercooked for medium rare, tough and sinewy. Fresh salad meant variety of fresh greens, carrot shavings, and a few thinly sliced Bermudas. No tomatos, although they’re in season, pepper slices, or anything to add color. Ice machine in back was so loud, it was difficult to carry on a conversation. Cold interior both in temperature and décor. The clipper was the $ 5 Southern Comfort on the rocks and the poorly made$ 13 Manhattan. Made no sense. When questioning the price differential, the waitress diffidently said, the adding machine programmed it that way. I guess if I added them together and divided the price by 2, it was fair. The emptiness of the place is self-fulfilling.

My husband and I had been out shopping all day and had not eaten. It was 3:00 on Sunday of Labor Day weekend. We ordered fried calamari as an appetizer. It came out burnt but we ate it. I ordered fried shrimp as an entrée and my husband ordered soft shelled crab. My shrimp was fine but his crabs were burnt. He told the waitress to please take it back and bring him a properly cooked one. The next one came out burnt! He asked to speak to the manager. The manager came out and my husband showed him how my shrimp was the proper color for fried food and the manager said it was a different batter. My husband told him that was bull — he tasted it and it was burnt and awful and the calamari was burnt but we ate it. He said he was refusing to pay for the crab and the manager could take it back. Do you know they charged us the $ 10 for the calamari and the $ 10 for my shrimp even though all I atr were the 4 shrimp they gave me and did not touch one french fry!

3 stars. My filet mignon was great and cooked correctly. The new England chowder was average… Indian wells chowder is way superior to this stuff…

This was probably the WORST food I’ve had in a long time and I’ve lived out here for many years. The«baked clams» were mush~~- no clam taste or bits of clam~~just soggy tasteless breadcrumbs~~. There was a GIANT mushroom in there, tho – huh? The fried shrimp, while mildly crunchy on the OUTSIDE, were totally soft on the inside, like the texture of FISH on the inside – almost inedible– shudder~~ my friend’s clams casino were ok~~ at least they were made with WHOLE clams. The lemon meringue pie was totally chemically tasting~~ again, yuck. You’d think they couldn’t screw up beer, but our Shock Top did not taste like any one I’ve ever had~~it tasted sour~~ maybe they squeezed a bad orange in it? We wasted $ 65 on a horrible, horrible dinner. I would NEVER go back.

Consider this review if you will be sitting at the bar, having a burger and a beer. I kind of want to give the burger four stars — for tastiness at a decent price and closeness to my house; but the rest of the restaurant definitely doesn’t deserve it. So we’ll sit at three. A friend and I had a late lunch here today since it was nearby, we both had the afternoon free, and it was miserably rainy and cold outside. It may have been the first time I have went to a restaurant and did not look at the menu. Based on the one dinner meal I had here about a year ago, I would have given Cliff’s only two stars. Regardless of how the locals rave about the steaks(maybe not at this location?), I’ve definitely had better in the area. Especially considering the price and mediocre sides and bread that came with it. The burger, however, was delightful. It was cooked well(though a little past medium rare), juicy and flavorful. I had mine marinated with cheese and a side of french fries. The fries were thin, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, with just the right amount of salt — a successful fry in my book. And the bun was soft, but strong enough to not turn to mush from the juice of the burger(enough of which escaped to pleasantly soak into some of my fries). The bartender was friendly and upbeat. The food was served quickly, but didn’t taste rushed. The inside of the restaurant is comfortable and homey. Be warned, if you go later, the small parking lot can get kind of hellish.

Just to bring reviews of this place to date I am pleased to say it’s what it is: an overflow to Cliff’s on the main road. I keep the phone number handy so when we try original Cliff’s and theres a long wait I call Too and usually get right in. great place to crash after day of wine tasting. Very friendly crew takes good care of customers. We love the baked«mud clams» as we call them. The steaks are great when you are hungry and mildly soused from a day at the vineyards. Try it and you will like it!

We use to eat here a lot more often, My Spouse still loves the Marinated Steaks and Burgers, for me the Bake Clams are not quite the same. They used to have the clams more finely diced, and not as spicey. Someone has been messing with the original recipe. grrrr. They have added alot more items to their menu, more elaborate meals. Some are ok some are just plain too out there. Plus I don’t like being referred to as «Sweetie».

This place is shit. If you want a large plate full of melted butter and a side of flounder then this is your place. If your prefer to see you waitress totally ignore you and drink at the bar then this is you place. If you like to pay for top quality stakes but get just some pig food cooked in no way how you order it then this is you place. DON’T EATHERE.
