Inverrary Vacation Resort

OMG SO SO HORRIBLE! This hotel was our blind three star selection in hot-​wire and since we’ve always had excellent hotels with them we went with it. I planned to stay the night with my bf and called to make sure we could head over for check in half an hour after purchasing the night. I was rudely told that my request hadn’t gone through and to call back later. I called half an hour later and was told again that my reservation wasn’t in their system. I kept insisting since my bf had a terrible migraine and we had to check in ASAP and well… they magically found my name. When we got there, I felt so scared. The place is located in the middle of the hood. You feel like you will get stabbed if you stay too long. The entrance of the hotel says the word «Resort» yet as you approach the establishment closer, it’s run down, dirty and there are shady people waiting by the park next door. The few tourists staying there looked as surprised as we did about the place and the area. As we walked in to check in, the very flamboyant man at the reception had his friend on speaker phone on his pocket as he addressed us for check in. He asked a question and when I said «pardon me?» he said «oh, no not you» and kept talking to his friend on the phone! After check in, we made our way upstairs in an elevator that looked like it came right out of Hollywood Studios. We entered the room and it was filthy. Mold on the walls, no toiletries, no toilet paper or tissues and dirty floors. We unfortunately had to stay two hours until my bf headache went away and we checked out immediately. Hot-​wire definitely understood the situation and issued a refund. As we were leaving, reviews online mentioned this place was used to house very very low income people… please please never approach this place! IT’S A NIGHTMARE, NOT A HOTEL. We filed for Hotwire to remove them immediately from their database.

OMG! Where do I begin? Firstly I added this place to Unilocal so that fellow Unilocalers are made aware of this dump.
Please understand that I travel a great deal and this entails staying at Motel 6 to the Hyatt. I need a comfy bed, quiet, and a hot shower. I go to all inclusives several times a year. The fact that this place calls itself this is an example of how slick they try to be. If you go to the website the picture they show of the rooms… NO. Maybe a few look like that but as a person who was in three different rooms in TWO days not one of them looked like the pic on the website. Yes three rooms… Room 1 #709, bathroom was filthy. Cigarette ashes on the floor. The hotel states that they have wifi… this was important as I was in an online class and had assignments to turn in. Room 2 #712 no wifi at all signal did not show up even when standing in the hallway (which by the way I expected Danny Torrance to ride by on his big wheel at any minute) Room 3 we were assured that this room had wifi, okay but NO AC, in Florida, no wifi still…
Soooo… Checking in my husband asked about the all inclusive «option». The person working the desk nodded him off and at the same time people at the desk next to him were complaining about the drinks. When we went to get our bags out of the car we saw a car being worked on.(like «shade tree mechanic“worked on) Wow! So we go up to the room and he wants to take a shower but comes out and says that the bathroom is dirty. I move the chair to look out onto the balcony and see loads of cigarette ashes on the floor (as an ex-​smoker I know what they look like) so we move to room 2. The next day my husband gets up to go for a walk, before leaving he’s says «Maybe we can eat here, they have a restaurant». Upon returning from his walk he said «we can’t eat here» I ask «why“he nods me off and we leave for breakfast. Later he tells me… apparently the restaurant and the bar were shut down by Order of the Health Department. He tooks pics of the signs which the employees strategically placed signs in front of to block, later tearing them down. There were there when he took the pics he came up to get me, we went downstairs 20 – 30 min later… I doubt the health dept. rein specter and gave them the «all clear «in that time. When we return from lunch the lobby smelled of chemicals and the signs were still gone. My husband waited in line to ask about the lack of wifi in our room and saw the people checking in next to him paying for the «all inclusive option» but the desk clerk said that they would get their bracelets later that day… REALLY. c’mon. I don’t expect every place to be Sandals but this kind of slick shiesty, Bullripple is bad business, low down and dirty and should never be tolerated by the paying public. P. S on our last night with no a/​c the room next door checked in a couple with three poorly behaved children all under ten years old. Oh the joy. Not only will I NEVER go back. I do not recommend that anyone else EVER go here. EVER…EVER.
