While I was recently vacationing in Florida I tried Singh Roti Delight and I must say their doubles are to die for taste just like home. And I love their little bell to ring when you need service, because most of the time they are in the back preparing food. The only flaw is I wish they had a spot in New York City, because that is where I live.

I’ve been craving roti for literally months, and had this place bookmarked. I actually first went to another place and was highly disappointed to find that the other place didn’t serve the curry on Sundays, they had only breakfast and a Sunday lunch that didn’t look nearly as good as the curry I wanted. So I called Singh’s to make sure they had their full menu before I went the extra miles to get there, and was delighted to find out they did. It’s in a old & a bit worse for wear shopping plaza in a not so great part of town, but totally worth the trip! The lady at the front was a total sweetheart and seemed to have quite a rapport with many of the other customers in the store. If you dine in you pay at the end of the meal even though you order at the counter, which I guess is a sign of good faith. I thoroughly enjoyed my veggie curry in the dhal roti. My boyfriend had the chicken curry with the buss up shot on the side, and man, the buss up shot was FRESH! Piping hot, flaky deliciousness– some of the best I’ve ever had! Great assortment of drinks here, including hard to find Caribbean favourites, and excellent local coconut water. The service was great, the prices were right, and the food was delicious(plus a huge serving) — despite the distance, I will definitely be back, & will tell friends about it as well.

Trinidad… an interesting place, but I’m not sure if Trinidad should be classified as a South American or a Caribbean country. Firstly Trinidad is only 6.8 miles off of the coast of Venezuela? Not only that but I learned from watching an episode of Andrew Zimmern’s Bizarre foods that iguana is a Trinidadian delicacy, I’m not joking. Trinidadians also have this huge Rio-like carnival held every year that takes at least 10 months of prepping. According to the Huffington Post The Trinidad carnival is the greatest show on earth. If that is not South American-like I don’t know what is, but then you get to their cuisine which is distinctly Caribbean, rich spices, delicious seafood, unique appetizers like«doubles» and toe curling local drinks. I laothe doubles they are slimy and disgusting, but everyone seems to love them except me. This is where Singhs brings the spicy delicious of Trinidad to the shores of America. Singh’s menu doesn’t disappoint, they offer a nice range of appetizers like aloopie, palourie, salt fish & bake and shark & bake. They have daily specials for entrée’s such as curry chicken, chicken pelau, stewed chicken and fried fish etc. Roti has literally become synonymous with the Trinidadian identity, for a Trinidadian restaurant not to offer it would be criminal. Singh’s serves roti’s daily such as conch, boneless/boned chicken, goat, duck, king fish and shrimp.
So far I’ve tried the boneless chicken roti and the shark and bake. The boneless chicken roti is always delicious, but there have been a few times where it wasn’t as flavorful as usual. 4STARS The conch roti is tasty but has an unusual«chalky» spicy flavor that I can’t put my finger on. One definitely needs an acquired taste to appreciate this roti. 3STARS Shark and bake is fried shark in between a light and airy fried dumplin served with lettuce and tamarind sauce. Their shark and bake was alright, nothing special, I personally wouldn’t buy it again as I’ve had toe curling shark and bake before, but Singh’s doesn’t quite make the mark. 2.5STARS I’ve been coming to Singhs for months and like a typical jack-tard I still haven’t explored the menu. As of writing this review I’m going to make an effort to try different items on their menu. ++ they have many imported Trinidad beers and sodas. ++ they have my ATF in house made sorrel and irish moss. Note: the Irish moss does taste similar to Jamaican irish moss. ++ Roti Shells — paratha, dhal pourie and whole wheat ++ thank God they don’t serve any dreaded«gluten free» roti shells here. ++ they have a eat-in tables Note: You can order your roti wrapped or open, when it’s wrapped it’s like a burrito, open it’s like using Ethiopian injera bread to pick up meats and vegetables to eat.

The husband and wife team is usually nice, but whomever’s mother was running the shop that day was EXTREMELY rude. I actually brought out of town guests to this place and she really embarrassed me. To add insult to injury she decided to add 2 of what I asked for and charge me for it «because it was easier for her.» Spent $ 80 here, got treated badly, and on top of that my half a tray of channa and aloo was almost completely sauce. Ridiculous. I don’t care how nice the husband and wife are, I’m never stepping foot in here again. WORSTEXPERIENCEEVER.

Horrible experience! Was my first time and was overpriced on my food. Also ordered 2 orders of pholourie(all together 20 little bread balls) asked for 2 tamarind sauces only received one because they charge you extra for it. Better off just going to joys roti shop. Their doubles are exactly how much the price sheet says, give you peppa sauce & an abundance in tamarind sauce. Definitely won’t be coming back again & going to actually let everyone I know double check your receipts.(Currently driving to joys right down the street, as we speak).

I’ve been here twice and the food is nothing to brag about. Both times I ordered chicken meals and both had more bones very little meat. Although the staff were very friendly I won’t be here again. I came here based on the reviews which has to fluffed up.

I was going to a Holiday party and wasn’t sure they would have anything vegan. I decided on my way, to call into Singh’s for a Veggie Roti to go. They did have a delicious salad at the party which i was able to eat. I decided I would save the Roti i bought at Singh’s for the following day. What a treat, delicious Veggie Roti, pumpkin, spinach, potatoes and green beans. So Yummy!!!

Amazing roti place. Should try doubles. Owners are really friendly. I have also tried veggie roti, Polorie and Aloo pie. Value for money. I highly recommend this place, considering there are two best places to have doubles and one of them is Singhs.

That veggie roti is DA Shit!!! Hubby had the boneless chicken roti and killed it. They are fast and not expensive. I should have been wheeled out. Love soca music, so if you eat in your butt will be more moving because they have so a music blasting. Not sure if it was because of carnival weekend or what.

Got take out since I was looking for something fast, close and vegan! I’ve had roti once in Miami but definitely wanted to try a doubles. Definitely the star of the show! I ordered a vegetable roti and two doubles but would definitely just order doubles from now on. So good and filling! The price is amazing considering this. The roti is very large too. I like it but since I ate one of the doubles first I think I’m a bit partial to it. Will definitely be back here! Service was quick and friendly.

ALL I HAVETOSAYIS… IFYOUDONOTWANTTOBEONTHETOILETALLDAYDONOTEATHERE!!! I had the curry goat, potato, and pumpkin with paratha. My friend had a veggie roti. Later that night, I could not sleep. I had the most horrible stomach cramps, bloated stomach, and bubble guts. The next morning at work I SPENT A HALFHOURONTHETOILET, ANDHADTORUNBACKEVERSOOFTEN. I spoke to my friend to see how she was feeling and she had the same feeling. She said she was shopping at Publix with her husband and had to leave him behind to RUNHOMEANDUSETHETOILET. It is not a coincidence we had the same RUNNINGBELLY. I WILLNEVEREATHEREAGAIN!

Another Trini shop in SoFlo. Even though it’s an hour away from me it’s worth it. Don’t be scared about the area and just walk straight to the shop lol. The person who took my order was cool and friendly and it feels soo chill there. Roti was cheap and delicious! $ 7.50 for a boneless chicken roti??! And the size of it was enough to fill 2 persons but I finished it by myself lolol. Very flavourful and the food was made to order so expect a rel hot roti after waiting about 10 minutes. Highly recommend to check it out and next time I will try the doubles and bake and shark!

The place is quite small but the food is amazing! I ordered the curry chicken roti and it was delish. It has a small spicy kick to it so be aware if you can’t handle your pepper. I also recommend considering the wait time, not the best place to go if you are in a rush, however the food is worth the wait.

Authentic Trini food with prices you cannot beat. The owners are wonderful! Perfect location, unbeatable prices and friendly service. I think it’s important to support small business/family owned restaurants and I am pleased to say this is def on top off list of yummy Trini restaurants in S Fl.

Best roti place I have tried in south Florida so far !!! Most people know about Joy’s but Singh’s is definitely my favorite! The wait is not as long as Joys and the owners are so friendly and nice. The doubles are the closest to doubles that you get in Trinidad. Every time I go, I must get at least one doubles. The roti is really good too. I always get my roti separate and I always ask to get pumpkin with it. The goat roti and boneless chicken are amazing! The aloo pie is also really good too and the Sunday breakfast special is good. I have not tried the other items on the menu so I am not sure how they are. If they were closer to me, I would be there every week. They are well worth the drive and I will always go back when I get the chance.

Another amazing Trini food experience! Had some doubles and roti(with chicken) and it was delicious! The roti had to weight 2−3lbs! Felt like I was back in Carapichaima! Always good to travel and find places like this. If you’re ever in Ft. Lauderdale you have to find Singh’s!

I found this thru Unilocal and was very pleased with my first roti and doubles experience. It is owned by a husband and wife from Trinidad. The wife explained the menu to me. The food came out in less than 5 minutes. Chicken curry roti with bahl(tortilla like bread with split pea in middle) on the side(cost 50 cent more to not wrap it). It came with a side of green beans and boiled potato in a green sauce. The chicken had bones… so I didn’t want it wrapped in bahl. The taste and spice level were perfect. You can pay extra for boneless. The doubles I LOVED! For $ 1.50 it’s a meal in itself. The shell is lightly fried and a little sweet from the brown sweet sauce added to dough. The filling is a chickpea stew. Very good flavor with the sweet & savory. The husband /owner sat and talked to me for 15 minutes about the food being a mix of east and West Indian. His family owns the famous singhs in Queens. I want to try other roti places for comparison, but will return to this location for the great customer service/safe location/easy parking.
