The owner actually cam in the restaurant and greets all his patrons! All Active and veterans they do give Military Discount! The place is very clean ! They do have out door seating! They have a brand New Deck outside! This is true Southern Hospitality! I would recommend all to come here it is just of I 95 ! The ribs just fall off the bone the rub they use here is great! With a little kick! #guyfeiti this place you should visit! The sweet potatoes are great so is the BBQ chicken! Everything is included in the price! If you are on your way to South Carolina’s Myrtle beach it is a must stop! The baked mac and cheese is great too! There is a great view for while you are eating too off a little creek! The have a Huge American Flag in the front! Very patriotic! This is the real deal BBQ all come from all around! They do have fresh brewed sweet tea! They also have Pepsi products here too! I would say this I feel right at home there is no rush while you are eating this is the way dining should be! I did forget to add the corn on the cob is amazing I want to add this cause it was that good and sweet!

Food: 4 Service: 4 Ambience: 4 Date/Time: 3÷10÷20165:15pm All you can stuff in your face BBQ and fixins! Just pay at the entrance($ 14 includes drink), grab a dish and hunker up to the trough(more of a waddle after the 2nd round!). This place has some great character with decorations like the line of caps hanging along the entrance to the cashier, and the cabin-like interior with wood floors, ceilings, columns, tables, etc. Also, the connected building over from the restaurant is their General Store and it has a large half wrap-around deck on the back overlooking the water and, of course, all wood… really nice feel when you walk out there on the nice evening we had during our visit. Oh and the HUGE flag flying out front… the wind was blowing pretty hard that day yet the flag was so big it was waving in slow motion! Pretty awesome place with a lot of thought going into the design… great job! The service is attentive, everyone is very friendly and seem to really like working there. They keep the buffet stocked, your drinks filled and your plates taken away. The chicken is melt off the bone tender, the ribs are meaty and taste great and the red sauce at the beginning of the buffet line is great on both! I’m not a big fan of my home town’s(NC) eastern«BBQ» with the vinegar-based stuff, but this red sauce definitely had the vinegar but also seemed to mix in tomato rather well… regardless of whether you like western or eastern BBQ sauce, give it a try! And, try the corn on the cob… very good! All the rest of the food was good as well, but those stuck out the most. The biscuits they had were a bit on the small side as I’m used to big made from scratch biscuits… these were about an inch or 2 in diameter and kind of flat. I didn’t try them as I would normally make a sandwich but those wouldn’t even make a slider :-) Highly recommended if you like BBQ and love troughs! :-)

As a lot of reviews noted, this place was featured on an episode of CNBC’s «The Profit». Good publicity, since it dragged me almost 400 miles from Herndon, VA. I’ll confess that visiting Shuler’s wasn’t my entire goal for the trip. 400 miles one way is a bit much for any eatery, especially one as appealing as an all you can eat barbecue. Actually I wanted to get out of town for the day and see the famous tourist trap South of the Border on the NC/SC state border. Shuler’s was only an additional 20 miles further south so I thought I’d take a look. I got there about 2:30 on the afternoon of Saturday, March 5th2016. It wasn’t very crowded so I got to my table right away. Staff was extremely friendly. 5⁄5 on courtesy. I found the food okay, but sparse. It felt like I was at a cookout at someone’s house. The pulled pork was sour, and dry with no barbecue sauce. As Marcus Lemonis pointed out, barbecue is very regional. So maybe the vinegar-y taste was just how they do it in South Carolina? I dunno. I’m a yankee, originally from Delaware and I need barbecue sauce with my pulled pork. The fried chicken was pretty good. Tasted very homemade. But I think I’m more of a fan of the extra crispy you get at KFC. The biscuits were very soft and buttery. Good but, really tiny. The gift shop was nice and I might have bought something there, except as I mentioned I was going to South of the Border that day and was gonna spend my souvenir money there. Décor was beautiful. Building was beautiful as was the deck out back. It would be a great place to rent out for a party. I wouldn’t go too far out of my way, but it’s only 5 miles off I-95 so if you’re travelling through the Carolinas look for it.

I am sorry Markus but I did not expect this. I can tell you that the service is friendly, but the food is not good; we went for lunch, only pulled pork and fried chicken, I can tell you that the chicken was frozen and the pork was not good. Biscuits are a little bit bigger than a coin, flat, like they just put some dough together and bake it, have no taste! Some other tasteless vegetables! That was it?! The buffet area is so small, people wait and wait to get any food!!! The bathrooms look like they were newly renovated but no paper towels. Not a really big deal to me if the food was good. By the way, they have signs to use a different entrance door, I think that some kind of glass so we can see inside would be good, it feels awkward. Just a suggestion… The place is packed and it seems that people like the food there, but I am sorry, compared to many restaurants and buffets I visited, this one does not come close. Even Golden Coral would be much better :)

Just when I was about to give 5 stars I made the mistake of coming to this place past 5pm. I have been coming to shulers every other weekend for about a year now usually arriving at 4pm. I can’t give this place enough praise, especially the corn. The reason I gave it 2 stars is because of my experience yesterday. We arrived around 5:30 and i instantly knew that was a big mistake as the line was extremely long. No big deal I thought because I was thinking about the amazing food I have previously eaten there. After paying we hit the buffet and what a disappointment that was. All of the food worth going there for was gone. I’m mainly talking about the ribs and corn. It only makes sense to keep those 2 items constantly coming from the kitchen but they didn’t. I heard from the back that it was going to be 30 minutes for the corn. I stood by the buffet waiting for the ribs and corn. First came up from the kitchen was the ribs which looks like they scrapped the bottom of the barrel for them and they were ice cold. My disappointment didn’t end there though. The batch of corn came up from the back and I instantly knew by looking at it that something was off. It looked bone dry. The corn was overcooked and extremely dry. I could go on about the bad experience but I won’t because I enjoy this place. When it’s good it’s good but when it’s bad it’s extremely bad. The kitchen just looked rushed and seemed like they cut corners that shouldn’t of been cut. If you want some of the best food you’ve
