Sunmark Federal Credit Union

I’ve worked with this credit union for years BECAUSE of their customer care and personal attention. I understand things change but the recent changes in the Ballston Spa branch management have completely soured my opinion of credit unions as member first. The Sunmark I came to know employed people that were relatable, compassionate and knowledgeable – people who went above and beyond – that has disappeared with a new manager and my communications about it months ago to their corporate office were met with defensive support of the new manager. In an industry that must stay competitive for customers, not so sure that supporting a condescending, controlling manager will get the job done. Sad to leave you Sunmark, it’s your own fault.

I’ve worked for a bank and a credit union and I can say this with confidence: Go with a credit union. They are member-​driven and work for you, not the big corporations. If you think you matter at a big name bank, you’re very wrong.
Beyond just choosing a credit union, choose this credit union.
When I worked at a bank, they would not give me a loan. Sunmark did. Not only that, the loan officer who assisted me (Elena P.) was incredibly friendly and supportive. Even though we never met face to face as I initiated the process online, Elena made me feel as though I had an ally during the process who had made me her priority.
In short, their member service cannot be beat. Go with Sunmark.
