For a diner, this place is pretty great. It has a large selection of food and, save for one waitress, everyone is very attentive and helpful. My only main complaint would be that the deli meat here for sandwiches is not fresh of particularly good(sometimes slimy which implies they either don’t turn it over quickly enough, or they just use that pre-package kind you buy in the grocery store). And you’ll want to avoid in on weekend mornings, as it is often packed. Otherwise, we have no complaints and frequent this diner often when in the area.

I wss very surprised by the food. Looks can be very deceiving. It was delicious and well worth the money. Our waitress was fantastic. Definitely will visit again when I’m in town with time to kill.

I’m sad to say I will not be visiting again… which I am quite sad about because I used to enjoy going here, and thought it was a good value. Let’s start from the beginning. Was seated promptly and asked by a young girl for our drink orders. She returned them promptly. We then had another waitress come over to take our food orders. Ordered a buffalo chicken wrap with ranch on the side, fiancé ordered chicken tenders with french fries. My meal came out with the ranch in the wrap, which is fine, but added on top of everything else just pissed me off. The wrap was a soggy mess dripping with liquid. Fiancé got a small plate consisting of 4 chicken tenders and maybe 20 french fries. The young girl came to our table again asking if we needed re-fills…my soda was half full, and fiancé’s beer was half full as well. We said no we were«good for now», and she says«so do you want me to take your beer?»…what? no? the beer is half full… whatever… At no point did our waitress come ask how our food was, nor if we needed re-fills when we ACTUALLY did! so i’m eating a spicy wrap and soggy french fries with nothing to wash them down… we finally ask for the check. Stunned to see that my fiances dish cost over $ 12. They charged for an order of chicken tenders, and separately an order of french fries. Typically when you order a SIDE of fries, you get a heaping plate of them, which would justify charging $ 3.50 I suppose, but this was pitiful. I think they charged us for separate dishes but in reality gave us a kids meal item. You could literally get two meals with way more food at McDonalds for that price. Didn’t even feel like arguing about it because we had already waited long enough. I asked for a refill of soda to go since I was so parched, even that took 10 minutes. With so much competition in the area, this place needs to seriously step their game up. I foresee them closing in the future since every time we go, the place is empty… and I can see why!

Been here a few times, most recently this morning when I reconnected with a business contact over breakfast. Apparently, it is one of the places to go In Latham to do just exactly that as I met a couple of acquaintances as I was entering and another when I was leaving. In a word, the diner is unremarkable, which isn’t a bad thing. It is exactly what you expect a diner to be. My Western omelette and coffee were good, the service was pleasant and timely and the prices seemed reasonable. Seating is comfortable and it is easy to access off the Latham Circle with plenty of parking. I would rate it a solid«good» and would most definitely go there again!

The Circle Diner is starting to go downhill. It’s not going to crumble overnight as is the case with most failed establishments, but the writing is slowly etching its way onto the wall. I returned here for the famed giant eclairs and the fast, friendly service. I got neither this time. Our server was aloof and lackadaisical, and she didn’t check on us once we got our entrees. She merely dropped off the check and didn’t ask if we needed anything else. Of course, I wanted to order one of the famous giant plate-sized eclairs this diner was so renowned for selling. When we finally flagged down our server to order one I was dismayed when she returned with an éclair 1⁄3 the size and the same price($ 4.25). Needless to say, i was very disappointed. I flagged down the server once again and asked what happened, and her answer was that the diner changed its bakery supplier. Saddened, I sent back the éclair and didn’t bother with it. Diners are a unique entity that aren’t easy to get right, and it appears fewer and fewer places can achieve this.

Service was friendly but a little unattentive. Atmosphere was very warm and bright. Clean facilities. Biggest issue: the food. It was obvious two bites in, their cook did not use salt or pepper to season the food while cooking. What I ended up getting was a pile of a flavorless, slightly wet pile of eggs and white starch home fries that were not fried:/. The worst part of the meal was the bacon. Seriously, if you think you have had the worst bacon ever, come here to set a new bad benchmark. Small in size, it’s small and ultra thin translucent size was outdone by its intense rubbery texture. It was like bacon gum. Had promise, May try again but no time soon.

Old and tired. Eggs overcooked. Omlettes one of the worse breakfasts in a long time. Cottage cheese old and wet/soupy. Rye toast a winner.

I went there with my son for breakfast on Thursday 6÷5÷14. When we walked in every door to the place was open and half the lights were out. I almost thought that they had no electricity at first until I saw the TVs on. There was only one waitress working in the place with about three other customers beside myself. I ordered a western omelette along with a coffee and my son ordered a triple cheese omelette along with a cup of hot chocolate. The vegetables on my Western omelette were pretty much raw and uncooked. and my sons cheese omelette wasn’t even melted. I was quite disappointed with the service. the waitress never came back to refill my coffee or to check on us to see if everything was good. When I received the bill I noticed they charged me $ 2.49 for a cup of coffee outrageous. When this place first opened years ago I enjoyed going here. I’ve been away from the area for a couple years and thought I would try it again. Needless to say I have no desire to come back.

I’ve been there a few times and have always been seated and searved quickly. The breakfast is absolutely delicious. Just tried the Mediterranean Chicken Greek Salad. It was OK. Chicken was over cooked and I forgot to ask for the dressing on the side so there was quite a lot of it. But it was a large portion and tasty just the same.

I stopped in here one afternoon with my daughter for an afternoon snack. She had a cup of soup that she said was good. We split a piece of cheesecake. It was delicious. The waitress was friendly, the place is clean and shiny. I will return for lunch sometime.

We had their Oriental chicken salad and Beef fajita salad. The salads were good, especially they put a lot of meat, but they didn’t chop up the vegetables. So if you like salad, but don’t like vegetable(neither do I), this is your place to get salad :)

A circle has no ends, right? Not so fast. The irony of the Circle Diner is that you cannot enter or exit it from the circle, but must go in a zig-zaggy line to even get there. The only way right now to get in is by going west on 2, and the only way to exit is to go out north on 9. The logistics of getting in and out of the place knock a full star off the rating(seriously, it’s dangerous as well as annoying), alas. The inside is full-on retro-diner, including a two-story entranceway and plenty of seating. Service was pleasant and they passed the minimal-coffee-refill test. The food is pretty standard diner fare, not great but acceptable, and was at least fast out of the kitchen. The coffee gets a tepid two stars on the Joe-meter, as thin and barely warm Colombian. Worth a trip for diner fans for the interior, but the price/quality ratio does not distinguish itself otherwise for repeat business.

I had one of their specials which was a wrap containing chicken, mango, goat cheese, basil mayo, and greens with fries for $ 9.99. It was amazing. The chicken was cooked perfectly, and juicy. I wonder if they offer this wrap all the time, because I will be returning for it. Although I felt there was to much arugula in my greens and it slightly ruined it. My boyfriend got the Philly Cheesesteak and said it was better than Wolf Road’s Diner’s. I felt their menu was a little small, and all their items were around $ 9 and up. Staff was friendly.

The morning after our first Phish show we needed some good olé diner breakfast and the Circle diner was just down the road so we checked it out. It was fairly dead for a Saturday morning, even the waitress acknowledged that. Here’s what I liked –the hostess asked us if we wanted a table or a booth(who ever wants a table? not us) –drink orders taken with in 30 seconds of us sitting down –waitress was super friendly and talkitive without being obnox –food was out in literally 5 minutes(again she said they were slow and since it was mostly poached eggs and 1 omelette, totally believable. –good food, tasty and fresh –she brought us an extra plate of hashbrowns just because I didn’t LOVE the hollandaise sauce on my eggs benedict, but to be honest I’ve never had hollandaise anywhere but on eggs bene and that’s usually been at diners so I’ve probably never had the real thing. It was just very thick and artificial yellow looking – but tasty all the same. So Latham NY people go and check out the Circle diner cuz it was good eats in my book.

I went to the Circle Diner in Latham when it was suggested to me to have pancakes and sausage for dinner for Groundhog Day. That’s supposed to be some sort of tradition, which I hadn’t heard of previously. Circle Diner is a typical diner, nothing over the top, but it is certainly clean, and unlike some other diners in the region, was pretty quiet for a Saturday. I decided to buck tradition and order Belgian waffles for dinner, but that is apparently the one menu option the diner doesn’t serve for dinner. So instead, I decided to keep with tradition. The pancakes were decent, but overall, average, as were the sausages. The service was prompt as well.

Walked over from the new LaQuinta. What a pleasant surprise! I ordered the Italian sausage & peppers spaghetti. It was excellent, large portions, probably a half loop of Italian sausage. Came back the next day & had a huge Reuban. Very reasonable, too. Great me& value. Clean, new looking(for a retro place)!

The Circle Diner is a «retro 50s» style diner with some oldies playing in the background. As you enter the diner, there is a bakery case(baked cakes, pies, muffins made on premises) directly straight ahead. There are several booths & tables with black & white checkerboard floors, a few Yankees pictures, and a framed picture of the Latham Traffic Circle in the corner. This diner offers breakfast, appetizers, sandwiches, wraps, burgers, salads, soups, Italian food, seafood, steaks & chops, desserts, several beverages(soda, coffee, juice, milk, & cocktails), and some specials. My friend and I stopped here for dinner. First, we ordered 2 Diet Cokes($ 1.99 each). I ordered the Chicken & Crab Sandwich(grilled chicken topped with crabmeat and melted swiss cheese on a poppy seed roll — $ 7.99), which was filling and good with fries & cole slaw and lettuce & sliced tomatoes on the side. The thick fries were crispy and tasty. The cole slaw was typical. My friend ordered the Pork Loin special($ 11.99) with stuffing & gravy, fries, and served with steamed mixed vegetables(beans & carrots) and lobster bisque. The lobster bisque was salty and not that great(not enough meat). The Pork Loin special with bone was a generous portion. The meat was moist and chewy. The stuffing was average, nothing special. The vegetables were bland and tasteless. For dessert, I ordered the Rice Pudding with whipped cream($ 2.25), which was served cold and creamy with a pinch of cinnamon, a good value. Overall, the food was decent and the service was quick.
