The Beat Coffeehouse

I love this placem its super cute and a comfortable environment. The staff is super nice. Amber is super sweet. I love the london fog because they make it so good. They have local artisan beer. it seems like a place for locals where everyone knows eachother and comes to just hang out. try it out. Its located centrally in downtown.

My boyfriend and I came across The Beat Coffeehouse when looking for a lunch spot before heading out to Red Rock Canyon. On one corner of Fremont Street, the music records/​café interior caught our attention while walking by. It seemed like it would be an interesting place to get our desired coffee, eclectic café setting, and quick, but good food fix.
When entering, we saw that there were a handful of solo patrons, each engrossed with whatever they were doing on their laptops, while eating and drinking coffee. The shop also has a record section, where you can browse and choose vinyl records of various genres for purchase. In another room is a little art gallery.
We each ordered a coffee, which we unfortunately found to be watery/​weak. The roasted vegetable baguette pizza, however, was really tasty. The vegetables were seasoned well, with a good amount of melted mozzarella cheese. It was all sitting deliciously atop a crunchy baguette, which was a great alternative to traditional pizza dough. The deviled eggs (4 total), with a piece of diced jalapeño and a piece of red onion (asked for no bacon) on top of each one, was decently good, but not especially tasty. The cinnamon toast was crunchy, with a thin layer of cinnamon powder fried onto one side of each toast. It reminded me of thicker Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal.
Overall, the menu was pretty good for a coffeehouse. I wanted to give the place 4 stars, but since it is a coffeehouse, I would have liked the coffee to have been better.

This coffeehouse is way more than its name. It’s in the heart of downtown on Fremont at ground floor of the Emergency Arts center. You walk in and are always greeted by friendly staff who are more than willing to recommend favorites. The ambient is quiet, yet loud with local event posters and a vinyl collection where requests are welcomed and a view of the craziness out that is Fremont. Nothing less than refreshing.
Oh and the food. It’s good. Personal favorite is french toast, a veggie pizza and a cup of joe.
They also host open mic night and other nice little events.

Convenient. Divey. Not a place I’d relax for very long. Great spot to grab a cup of coffee or a quick bite to eat. It’s hipster. It’s cool. It’s in the Emergency Arts building. It reminds me of coffeehouses in the Mission District in the 1990s in San Francisco. It’s grungy– ya know?

This is a great concept! Coffee and old records. But jeez Louise, who died? Shopped for 30 minutes tiptoeing around unfriendly employees. Clerk would not accept my 100 dollar bill which was fine, until she explained that it was because she was worried I was trying to slip her a counterfeit bill. Who is running this show?

Overall good experience and good coffee. I went around 8 in the morning on a work day and found it to be a solid work environment. The place is a very unique venue and definitely worth checking out. I’ll surely be back to check out some of their events as well!

Best coffee shop in Las Vegas. When in town, I used this place for meetings of groups as well as one on one. It’s on the bottom floor of a larger building that has a lot of artists working out of it so it’s an interesting crowd.
Staff are friendly, and most importantly the coffee is quite good. Also of note: they have the BEST breakfast sandwiches around, although they take a long time (15−20+ mins) to prepare. Their regular lunch type fare is pretty extensive and satisfying as well. At night they host music and poetry and serve beer and wine.
Check this place out.

Last night after leaving vegentation i had time to kill before taking my gf to the airport so i stopped by here at the beat. Ive only seen its awesome reviews on Unilocal and have been looking forward to checking it out. I walked up to the counter and asked the girl with short black hair behind it where the menu was she told me it was «right there» and pointed to the wall next to the counter. Next she gave me an eye roll so hard i thought she could possibly seize up. I glanced around and noticed no body else behind the counter and thought I don’t really want her or her nasty vibes on my latte (call me a hippy) and I immediately left. I’m a sensitive creature I suppose. I’ll be back. Maybe. But it was an awful introduction. The atmosphere was charming. You get one star for that, but she negates most of the charm!

I am not sure what was going on with the service at the beat lately. Been going there for years and today made me call quits.
Today, I stopped by with my girlfriend to get a breakfast sandwich. Best breakfast sandwich in town. However, I waited 25 minutes for a to go order and came to find out it was not even processed. I was also charged two vanilla lattes when I ordered one. The coffee has defiantly lost its touch.
I feel the cashier was a little distracted with a film crew that came in shortly after in ordered. Starstruck, I guess. Sadly, this will be my last time coming there.
I got a refund but I left upset. Hopefully, my concern gets someone’s attention.

Great experience at «The Beat» Amber is the best! Ask for her specialty the Cinnabon…

I liked the cappuccino, vege sandwiches and the decors, very different and also similar with many other coffee shops in the world. So unique, in a way American style mixed with the world.
I revisited Fremont Street via Deuce last week, noticed they changed the bus stop. It stops near Golden Nugget. Fremont Experience was not the same as last year, something looked sad.
Thai place was still there, though I didn’t go in this time.
The beat Coffeehouse brought me back the memories of the many many coffeehouses in the world I once visited. Sometimes you just want to sit down in a coffee house, listen to soft jazzy music and look around people who’s coming & going inside or out on the street.
You can do that well here in the Beat.

The case of the watery chai and coffee.
The coffee shop is decorated to look like a divey musician and artist hangout with an indie vibe, equipped with vinyl records and art for sale. It’s located downtown on the corner of Fremont and 6^th, right across the street from Le Thai and Commonwealth; the coffee shop’s sign is obscure with writing only on the windows and door. I suggest looking for the large «Emergency Arts» building with a «Medical Center» sign or the «Fremont Center» building — they share the same entrance.
The service was friendly, but the coffee and chai latte were both exceptionally watery. We ordered a large (24 oz) iced chai latte for $ 3.50 and a large iced café latte $ 3.50 with the addition of vanilla flavor for $ 0.50; pricing is fair. However, the flavor of both drinks were shockingly watered down. The chai was offensively mild to the point that I couldn’t taste the milk or spices and the vanilla café latte made a Dunkin’ Donut iced coffee seem more desirable.
I considered having the chai remade, but the fiancé made a great point and mentioned that the chai mixture is pre-​steeped/​pre-​made; there isn’t a way to get bolder flavor into the base, any which way we try. We decided to bring up the café latte to have it corrected and they were absolutely accommodating. Unfortunately, the remake was also watery — but I did taste a tinge of coffee flavor this time. I was miserable with my weak drinks and finally accepted that the flavor wouldn’t magically change. Well, I’m glad we tried!
To end on a positive note — the air conditioning was brisk, plus the seating arrangements were ample and comfy!

I would give this place a 3.5 if I could but it doesn’t allow me to do that so a 3 would do. For my first time here I was stoked to come because of the reviews this place gets. Unfortunately I think it was an alright place if you’re in the area. The Beat Coffeeshop has a rock and roll type of ambience (even the workers dressed pretty rock-​ish to me lol). The place was kind of dark and vintage/​hipster type. Even the people in the shop were hip looking. It was a great place for people watching and chatting over a drink or food. I tried their Strawberry and Banana smoothie and it was like any other Banana and Strawberry smoothie honestly. I saw more pics of their food than beverages so maybe this place was more popular for their food items, I;m not too sure.
Anyway, there were a good amount of seat in the house and the music played was rock vinyl records, and you could find the album cover at the cashier front. There’s also Emergency Arts inside towards the back which was a interesting place to take yourself and your drink to. I’m into a few rock bands so I was very appreciative of the ambience and their boxes of vinyl records on sale! Too bad I couldn’t find The Beatles :(
Anyhow, the workers were decent for their service, they could be more welcoming. I think they could be a little more cleaner with the seating area as well. I saw a few crumbs on the chairs and sofa which turned off my vibe.
It’s a cool place to check out if you’re into Rock and Roll or art!

The Beat Coffeehouse proudly plays rock music in the background while serving different types of drinks and offering a decent selection of things to munch on. It’s a short walk from the Downtown Container Park and across from Commonwealth.
The interior was pretty cool. Different things such as newspaper articles, ads, and posters were all tacked up on their walls. The music was pretty good; a lot of rock classics played and then other songs I’ve never even heard of before came on. They had vinyl records for sale in the little crates on the counters.
I ordered a mango/​banana smoothie, but I’m pretty sure I was handed just a plain banana smoothie… Okay, maybe the nice young woman taking my order didn’t hear me. It’s alright, though, because I honestly needed something cold and refreshing to cool me off before I venture off into the crowd for First Friday. When the guy behind the counter called me up to grab my drink, he handed it to me in a way that made the drink ooze out through the lid and fly everywhere! There weren’t any apologies, no offering up napkins, nothing. Well, whatever. At least I got my drink. (Although I did have to clean it up for the photo). The smoothie had the ripe banana taste and wasn’t really that sweet.
I sat on the couch, and it made me sink in it a little. It’s super comfortable and it got to the point where I felt like I wanted to take a nap. In the same building (towards the back), there’s the Emergency Arts art gallery which you should check out if you’ve got the spare time… I don’t think this coffee shop is a good place for groups of 4+ people, but it’s perfect for bringing a friend or two to chill (or go solo and work on some stuff).

What a hip and lovely and coffee making place!
Vegas needs some help in the making coffee department. We’ve been here four days and this was the first time someone make a good cup of joe and for Jane — a nice cappuccino. A cappuccino is NOT espresso with tons of milk and next to zero foam — I don’t care how you were trained — Vegas wake up to coffee will ya?
The Beat is on a GREAT street on what they are calling Freemont East.
The container park is awesome place for locals — music should be playing 7 nights a week, because the Freemont Street with naked women and such is just gross!

This wonderful little hideaway just oozes «#DTLV Hipster Realness»! Vintage rock plays in the background, wonderful artwork (much of it local!) is all over, and the location can’t be Beat. (Hehe ;-))
Oh, and the coffee is always great. They also have great pastries delivered. And on top of all that, the service is always with a smile.
This is quickly becoming one of my new favorite «offices away from home»!

We took a stroll down here from the Golden Nugg where we were staying since it seemed like there was some hip stuff down this way. We wanted something to eat but also this place sells records? And there’s adorable dogs inside? There weren’t a huge number of option for my gluten free husband but he had a huge salad which he said was really good. My Croque Monsieur was next level– sure, there’s supposed to be cheese melted on top, but they hoooked it up and the cheese was so ooey gooey good. And the ham was packed in there, and the mustard they used was spicy and delicious. I was in sandwich heaven. My husband picked up some 45’s he would not usually encounter back home and we were pleased as punch.

This is what I wanted to say about The Beat Coffeehouse. Sadly, I cannot. This place takes non-​entertained, couldn’t care if the world outside was burning down, pfffffshhh like attitude to the next level.
I walked in to see a handful of people lounging around. Nobody was behind the bar so I walk in a little further. After finally locating the «Order Here» sign I stand and wait for someone to approach me for my drink order. A few minutes go by and a woman comes out from the back and starts chatting with a customer at the bar. After waiting a few seconds (possibly a full minute) I clear my throat and ask «Is this where I order?» She comes over, not acknowledging my question and asked what she could get for me. I asked for a large, black coffee with soy.
After I placed and payed for my order, there was a group of people who walked in and placed their orders immediately after I did. Guess who got their drinks first?
In all seriousness, I was waiting about five minutes before the woman who took my order asked «Have you been helped?». I said, politely «Yes, I’m waiting for my coffee». She said, «Oh, yeah. Hmmmmmm» then walked away and returned with a large, iced coffee with soy. Rather than argue about the drink order, I walked out.
Now, the coffee’s flavor was GREAT. Better than any «drip» I’ve ever had at a Starbucks. But the experience was terrible.

Honestly, this place covers all the bases of a great coffee shop. First and foremost their coffee is very good. Super smooth and with no burnt taste, which is was what most people are used to from that large coffee chain on every suburban street corner. No, burnt doesn’t equal strong. You’ve been Unilocalucated!
I came here after a meeting and was in the mood for a caffeine boost and some coffeehouse treats in my belly. I ordered an Iced Coffee and the «Tina Turner Turkey Wrap». Like I said before, the coffee is great and surprisingly the food is on the same level. The Turkey Wrap was made perfect; fresh veggies, flavorful turkey, and a soft tortilla, but its just not wraps and bagels. They offer many food options as the menu here is quite large, so if Turkey Wraps or PB & J sammies aren’t your cup of tea (or coffee), I’m sure you’ll find something to snack on.
Free WiFi, vinyl for sale, various art shows, plus fun trivia nights. The Beat really does a great job at being awesome. It’s really in your best interest to just come down here, sit down, enjoy a cup of happiness, and bob your head to The Beat.
