Moved here from out of town and I guess I didn’t do enough research.
A couple of years ago I had had a bad color job done so my previous stylist worked hard and eventually it grew out until I had light blonde highlights that blended well with my greying/​brown hair.
I went to great lengths to explain this to Sunday and asked her if she thought she could come close to replicating what I currently had. She said she thought she could. I went so far as to get the exact product names (and formula) from my previous stylist and Sunday agreed to purchase them for me, for which I reimbursed her.
The first time came out fairly well; however it came out super light without much definition (highlights.) I wasn’t able to get back to her for about 3 months, so I had a lot of regrowth. I suggested maybe we show add some low lights? After the foils came off I was pretty shocked.
I could tell she knew it had turned out differently than expected. She became very preoccupied and began mumbling about how I SAID I had «wanted it darker.» Very defensive before I had said a word other than «Does it look kind of red on the top?» I reminded her that not only did I show her pictures of what i wanted and had only suggested that maybe we could break it up with low lights.
All I know is I walked in with super light, almost ash colored BLONDE hair and walked out with a mousy BROWN color.
I came in for the redo about a week later. I won’t get into it but basically Sunday had the biggest meltdown I have seen in years in the hall in front of other clients and would not do my hair. She was angry because «I didn’t know what I wanted and she’d never be able to make me happy.» Totally UNPROFESSIONAL. Totally out of line (not to mention out of left field.) I would steer clear of this person. The salon manager also acted discourteous. By the way the spelling of the name of the salon is «Phoenix.»
