Star Nursery

So many varieties of fruits and vegetables. Hybrids, conventional or some Non-​GMO for those of us weary of that. Everything for the garden is here: tools, rocks, decorative landscape rock, soil and weed killer (unless you’re not into killing weed). But overall this place is huge and they do have specials and promos like on 2 types of their landscape/​garden rocks and they all colors minus 8o’s rock.

This is the worse Star nursery here. The customer service is so bad and when you do get some customer service, they don’t know what they are talking about. Because it is the closest to my house, I went there twice. Each time there was an issue. I will drive to the West Charleston or Blue Diamond Star nursery first. I would not give them a star rating but have to.

I have yet to have an unpleasant experience here. It’s my go to for items that I can’t find at Lowe’s or Home Depot. The employees are knowledgeable and easy to locate when I need help. This last trip they didn’t carry what I was looking for but wrote down the information so I could find it online, which I did. When I have inquired about plants and what is best for someone like me without a green thumb they are able to make good recommendations. They also carry some quality dog food along with toys.

Of all the Star Nursery stores in Vegas, this is the WORST! The customer service is HORRIBLE… especially if you have to deal with the general manager Sarah. RUDE!

Ive been here twice and both times the customer service was awful. Just about everyone I tried to ask for help, couldnt have possibly cared any less about their job or my needs. Spent several hundred dollars each time and the only pleasant employees I encountered were the carry out boys. The girls at the register act like Jr high school snots… one girl actually made rude faces about me to a «floor mngr» right in front of me. Its a sad thing when you want to support a local biz but the service is better at big chain. The selection is nice, but not worth giving my money to a place that doesnt appreciate it.
It would make sense to have at least one mature and accountable person on the floor at this place to oversee the kids who run amok here.

The best nursery. period. Home Depot blows, Lowes blows (I made a rhyme) go to the best in town for any, and I mean any plant or tree need. If they don’t stock it, they will order it.
Each location has its own character, staff is always great and super helpful so if you want to know how much sunlight your (insert plant name here) needs, they’ll know.

As much as I’d rather shop here than Lowe’s or Home Depot, they just dont have enough selection as the bigger places. They have a lot, certainly, but not nearly as much as the big chains. The staff was really nice. They have an AWESOME koi pond in the back with turtles and fish, and one of the girls gave me some food so I could feed them. Kept me entertained for 30 minutes easily. I was more interested in that than picking up the spice plants I needed. Prices good, staff real nice. I’d come back again, but mostly, to feed those fish and turtles!

I purchased all of my trees and plants from them they have great prices, just be-​careful who do you ask questions molts of the summer worker don’t have the best knowledge. If you ever experience they will go above and behind to make it right and this is why I give them 5 stars and will be a customer for life!

Star Nursery is the cream of the crop when it comes to plant nurseries in Vegas. They have everything you’d want for your home or business landscaping needs.
It usually surprises people that I’m a fan of plant nurseries. My first real job was at a plant nursery when I was 15. It made such an impact that I majored in landscape architecture and ran my own landscape company back home. Walking around Star Nursery really makes me miss my old line of work!
The stock of plants and materials here is really top notch. Everything from bedding plants to shrubs to trees is here, and all of it is well taken care of. And all the soils, mulches, fertilizers, and pesticides you could need are here too. And the staff is both very knowledgeable and friendly.
If you’re doing any landscape work at your house, do yourself a favor and skip the sub-​par Walmart and Lowes stock and come to Star!

I love walmart prices BUT I hate shopping there. There’s also a Lowe’s in the area with a lawn and garden center which is nice but I wanted more variety in plants. Not only does Star Nursey have a huge selection you can even purchase a plant at different stages of growth. What does that mean for those of us that are not familiar with gardening? I found a palm plant with pinnate leaves, which I’ve been wanting but I know they can be really expensive. They were available at a young age (the least expensive) to almost full grown (most expensive). Of course I picked the least expensive and was able to load 2 palm plants, a red tail ornamental grass (wish I would have got 2 of them), 2 orleander, and 2 desert daisies into a compact car. Oh and a shovel and a rack/​hoe combo thing. They have EVERYTHING you need for your lawn/​sprinkler system/​stones etc.
