Closing out its last weekend in the Gordie Brown Theater inside the Golden Nugget, We went to see Spank! I’ve never read 50 Shades of Grey, but I thought Spank! was pretty hilarious! There are only three cast members-The Author E.B. Janet who conjures up some of her wildest and sexual visions in her mind and on her keyboard. She adds alot to the show, and definitely knows how to get her«creative juices» flowing! Hugh Hanson, who is the wealthy good looking millionaire with a dirty little fetish, and Tasha, who is the quiet little virgin who is still trying to find herself. These three characters put on an entertaining show with singing, dancing, comedy, and a few adult props. This show also contains adult language and sexual innuendos as well, so it would be suited for those with an open mind, but not as gung-ho as the best show on the strip, Absinthe. ALOHA!!!

First off let me preface this by saying that I have never read any of the books but have heard about it. Since my wife and her friends had an extra ticket, I decided to tag along out of curiosity. Plus it’s supposed to be a funny parody so I’m assuming at least I’ll get some laughs right? So we make our way to the Gordie Brown showroom inside the Golden Nugget Casino. His show just ended so there were lots of people on their way out. Our show was scheduled to start at 9. They didn’t start letting people in until 9:10. The show didn’t really start until about 9:25. It’s about an hour long cuz we got out at 10:30. Finally the show starts. From the little program guides they give you, you can see that there are only 3 actual characters. This show basically puts you in the mind of the author E B Janet(which stands for Easy Breezy), and the romantic(and lusty) adventures she comes up with that is put into words on her computer monitor. Only difference is, there is a hilarious twist to it. Now bring in Hugh Hanson, who is the designated perfect male model who is super smart and is a successful multi millionaire of his own company. And his counterpart, Tasha who is the sweet, innocent, down to earth girl who is a virgin and just doesn’t know any better. What goes on between them once they meet is a roller coaster of laughs. Like I said, I have never read any of the books but I must admit I was definitely entertained and laughed out loud a couple times. There were parts where each one of them sang for a bit which I thought was pretty decent. The acting was also not bad for their lines were on point the whole show. In closing, I thought it was a well put together production. The usage of props were very simple yet each scene they did got their point across. Definitely not for kids 17 and under due to the obvious adult theme and sexual inuendos. This would make a great date night type of show along with a girls night out type of theme as well. If you plan on seeing this, hurry because it’s for a limited time only engagement which is through November 9, 2013.
