I’ve been a patron of the Rum Runner for years. Some of my clothes still have that signature Rum Runner stink on it. Like taking a bath in the ashes of a pack of Marlboro. Rum Runner is a dive. They have spruced up the place with nice HD TVs hanging over the bar, but the stink of dive bar(read: Marlboro) is still there. The bartenders are usually pretty nice, though lately it always seems like there aren’t enough of them. Sitting at the bar, you can order food there as well. Hope you have two different cards or forms of payment. The food comes on a different tab than the alcohol you purchase. I understand the Badger Café and Rum Runner are technically two different entities, but they’ve been there for years and years. There has to be a way to consolidate the tabs. When they do call a waitress over, expect to wait. A while. If you thought there weren’t enough bartenders, there sure aren’t enough waitresses. It’s ONE. Usually, I get an older lady who is nice but a bit out there. She’ll talk super fast, laugh at a joke you didn’t even know she made, and be gone in an instant. She means well, I think? Some of the food is still pretty good for a divey bar but has gone downhill a bit from what it used to be. Burgers and wings are the definite ways to go. Burgers are pretty cheap(around $ 6 – 7 after you add your fixins). It’s all laid out on a card, so it’s actually very easy to see what all the options are and the costs. It’s also mind boggling how Rum Runner will routinely get your burger order wrong by missing something. Yet, these are still your better options. You COULD try the Krab Cocktail like I have in the past, but you would probably want your $ 1 back. I’ve also ordered clam chowder once and got a bowl of Progresso clam chowder that was cold in the middle. Stick to bar basics. The Rum Runner is a dive but I have spent a lot of nights in there. It’s definitely gotten better. It’s a livelier crowd nowadays. When you want some cheap beer and cheap burger and no place to go in particular, Rum Runner should be your stop.

It’s been a few years since I talked about Rum Runner. At this point, it’s synonymous with«Badger» so I’ll call it that moving forward. It’s still your typical dive bar. But you know what? It’s my home away from home. I still feel like I’m back in the midwest when I go here. This place does bring the«cheers» vibe to me. The biggest reason why I upgraded this to 5 stars is because the bartender quality is superb. Melissa and Shannon are top notch and I haven’t even come close to the quality of service I get anywhere else. They pay attention to when I need a drink, they don’t force small talk and for me, that’s a big win. Just let me drink and play video poker, easy peasy.

Rum Runners is one bar-lounge here in Vegas I feel most comfortable, not just any of them, this one particular. The one over on DI, scared me. But this one is GREAT!!! Every bar tender was very friendly, I felt so welcomed, and the bloody Mary was Umm so good with the pickled green bean! Not to mention the wings! LOOK all I’m saying if you want to have a good relaxing time friendly bar tender, wonderful atmosphere, this is it!!!

I wanted to check out this place along with Gorilla Café for their pool set up. Gorilla Café was very bright, and only had 5 nice regular pool tables and about 73 cushion tables(no pockets). I didn’t see any information about leagues. Rum runner on the other hand was an extremely friendly atmosphere. Darren who works dayshift behind the bar was great, very welcoming. Makes a killer bloody mary too! They have 8 or 9 nice Diamond bar tables(7 ft). I prefer playing on 8 footers but these will do. $ 10 or car keys will get you a cue ball, and its $.75 per game. No hourly rental. I stayed to watch the Oregon Ducks vs TCU game(sadly blew a 31 – 0 halftime lead to lose in triple OT). They have plenty of good size screens above the bar and all around the place so easy to view. They have the pool tables on one side, and another side has some tables for groups. Pretty cool place. And the service was really good… like I said Darren was great, and then the ladies who came on for the night shift were also cool. I didn’t gamble and sat in a non-gambling place but that didn’t stop them from coming over regularly to check on me and have light conversation. I might have found my eastside hangout for sports.

One of the best cheese burgers I have ever had! Nice and crispy French fries too. The house salad with ranch dressing was really good too. The burger tastes like a backyard bbq burger… so yummy! Great service from the cook(I forget his name). My boyfriend and I will definitely be back!

Being a true Wisconsin native I have to say this place comes pretty damn close to being smack dab in the Midwest. Its got that casual, down home feel and the drinks are super cheap compared to most places around town. The food is great too! You HAVE to get the cheese curds. Trust me! The burgers are good too, simple and delicious. The only downside to this place is the smokey smell, but hey what do you expect out of a bar? Lastly, if you’re not coming here during a game then you’re doing it wrong! Go pack go!

Actually stumbled on to this place by accident. It happened to be close to where we were staying in Vegas, and decided to stop in for dinner on our first night. Sports bar themed inside with lots of memorabilia. We sat at the bar and the bartenders were super welcoming. We asked for menus and a gal from the kitchen came over to see if we had questions. She also was very nice and welcoming. That really doesn’t happen too often that I feel totally at home and at ease in a restaurant/bar. The gal from the kitchen gave me recommendations on what to order which I appreciated. I ended up with the philly sandwich which was quite good. Overall…cheap drinks, cheap food, clean and very friendly staff! I’d frequent this place if I lived in Vegas!

Finally I am writing about my neighbor-hood bar! Not only have I actually written an article about Rum Runner for LVFNB magazine but I have been hitting the Rum Runner weekly(even daily at certain times in my life) for almost two full years. I love this place and it just never gets old. Attached to the Badger Café(where the food made and kids can be– no cig smoke which is nice) is a big Green Bay Packer’s bar complete with gaming, shuffle board, pin-ball, pool, cheap/stiff drinks, and more. Besides the breakfast burrito, I am not nearly impressed with their breakfast as I am with the lunch and dinner but that’s OK because breakfast isn’t what keeps people coming back to Rum Runner. Things to try: burgers(best in LV), soups, wings(SO many delicious flavors), tacos($ 1.89ea and they taste home-made), the BLT, and the chips are incredible. The owner Gino is awesome and passionate about his business; it shows in how the employees are/how they work together sticking around for a long time, and just how the place flows. There is another Rum Runner up North but I have never been.

The bartender lady was very nice and attentive. They get their food from the dinner next door so when we went in there and found out that he was backed up on food orders he was very rude about it. Decided to just head to pt’s where there IS a happy hour and the cooks aren’t rude. I’ll pass on this place.

We stumbled upon this place looking for somewhere to play some pool. It was semi-packed, normal for a Saturday night. The place has character, it’s a dive bar alright, but it’s divy and cozy, just how I like it. Nothing posh or pretentious. The bartenders were all SUPER nice and attentive, awesome service. The drinks were cheap, 3.50 for domestic bottle, 4.50 for a pint or select bottles. The pool tables where all busy, so we were put on the waiting list for the next available table. *it’s .75c per game. While we waited we ordered some chicken wings, fries and potato chips… man… that was some good bar food. The waiter was amazing, food took a little bit to come out. Overall it was a great environment, cheap beer, cheap food, great and super friendly, welcoming staff… what else can you ask for?

The good: There are some gems of bartenders here. The Bloody Mary mix is phenomenal. The prices are low. The HD TVs for the NFL games are great. I don’t partake in billiards but it seems to be great spot for such. The food at the Badger café is good. The bad: There are some employees that don tend the bar very well. «Working girls» approach you occasionally. The promotions during bar events seem to be won by individuals that commingle with the owner. I recommend it for the atmosphere during Packer games but I would avoid it as a regular bar especially because you can get food at the café without going to the bar.

Divey yet smoke-free sports bar with good food?! Found it all here! Granted, the food is from the Badger Café next door(separate review), but it’s handy how they’ve partnered up for business and seems to benefit both. Bartenders were friendly and female, plenty of TVs tuned to both MLB and NBA games– counted 10 screens, and that’s just from the front area where I stayed. In addition to bar seating, there are long family-style tables, also pointed at various screens. Didn’t notice any built-in gaming consoles, but that’s not my style anyway. Come for the game, stay for the food. Friendly patrons as well! Cannot stress how pleased I am to find this atmosphere in a SMOKEFREE environment.

So I’m not use to do bad reviews but… We have always excellent times in rum runner the bartender Darryl is a great guy ! But the last time of we been there order 2 simple stuff and I indicate the girl to take the food orders«no tomato in my good I have allergy to that» my food quesadilla and fries come 35 minutes after quesadillas full of tomato… And her just take the food and leave don’t let me any time to request a change or anything! I love the place as bar but the food service sucks! The picture of I place there are of other visit because we go all time there :/

The exterior is not promising. What you see is the name largely written on a windowless wall, in what appears to be a small space in a strip mall. Once inside however, it’s huge. The interior has most of the standard features — high bar stools, slots built into the bar, and pool tables. The crowd is older, but fun. We didn’t step of the standard platform when ordering drinks, so I really can’t speak to bartenders mixing abilities. The service and energy of the place is what earns the stars. It’s more fun that you’d expect.

During my college years in Wisconsin, I became accustomed to lots of foods with cheese. If you’re from the Midwest, you know what I mean. Approximately 2 years ago I discovered The Badger Café on Tropicana and Spencer. Although I can’t go there on Sundays during the football season as I’m a Chicago Bears fan and the establishment there is «Packer Heaven,» I don’t discriminate any other day for a good meal. From their daily specials to their wide variety of regular menu items, the food is outstanding and reasonably priced. Everything from their pot roast to their Friday fish fry to the breakfasts served 24 hours a day, the food is top quality and the portions are large. Also, a special mention to try their ½ lb. burgers and the chicken wings with a variety of flavors, I highly recommend Rum Runners for anytime, day or night. Rum Rummer’s bar is attached to the restaurant where you can order your meal, play a game of pool, darts or watch the sports on TV, and they’ll serve your meal to eat in the bar area. The bar staff is very friendly and most accommodating. PS. It’s not on the menu but they do have awesome cheese curds. Be sure to order some; you’ll love ‘em!
First let me clarify that this review is for the food side of Rum Runner– NOT the bar side. I love this place. I’ve seen all different people eating here– young, old, teenagers, families, groups of friends, businessmen– so many. When a place can appeal to so many different people and their tastes, it is a very very good thing. I’ll be honest, I haven’t been very adventurous here. I’ve only tried… maybe 4 things on the menu. When I come here, I only really come here for two things: Wings. and Burgers. They have a flavor of the month sauce– always interesting, mostly good. Though I usually stick to teriyaki(my favorite) and get the wings blackened. They’re usually pretty good about this… you mark teriyaki and blackened and they will do all the wings like this– dipped in sauce and then blackened. Though recently they served us a plate with 3 blackened wings and 3 teriyaki. I was kind of put off by it but I was hungry and the server was kind of… loud anyway so I just shrugged and ate my food. I would surely clarify in the future though. The burgers are delicious. I think its now $ 4.99 to build your own burger. They have allllll the toppings– bacon, grilled onion, pickles, thousand island, fried egg, etc. All they need is to add some avocado(not guacamole– very different) and they’ll be set! Being from california I tend to be a little picky about my burgers. A good burger to me is a diner style burger with the bacon and avocado deliciousness– and while this isn’t Pauls Place or Angelos, its about as close to home as I’ve found so far. Ps. Since this is connected with the bar you can order coke with grenadine(cherry coke) and it is much more delicious than that generic spray stuff.

It’s Packer season and that means it’s time to visit a Packers bar here in Vegas. I was meeting a bunch of friends here to watch the Packers play the Bengals. I was excited because I didn’t get the opportunity to visit this place last season so today was the day! This specific location is on the corner of Tropicana and Spencer. It’s in a typical strip mall, by the Pinball Hall of Fame and Goodtimes bar. This location includes foozball, shuffle board, pool and more. For the Packer game, they moved all games on the side and set up a lot of tables and chairs, since this bar was about to get filled up and boy did it! Just a huge sea of Packers jerseys and WI natives. I was excited. The servers were in referee outfits, seemed really nice! We ordered a huge beer spout for only $ 16. Filled with Bud Light, it was capable of having about 10 beers in each. What a steal! On top of that, the Rum Runner is attached to the Badger Café, so we could order food as well. For starters, we got the cheese curds for $ 4.99 and the Badger Bites for around $ 5. The cheese curds were super delicious, I wouldn’t expect any less! Light batter and really flavorful curds. YUM if you like cheese. The Badger Bites were little smokies, sliced jalapenos wrapped and fried in a won ton wrapper. This dish was also very good. I love the jalapeño, which definitely brought a punch. The dipping sauce was also on point. For my meal, I wanted breakfast, so I got the ham and cheese omelet for $ 5.99. I chose to substitute my toast for a half order biscuits and gravy. The omelet was big, small chunks of ham and what looked like Kraft single cheese on the top. Served with hash browns. It was alright, nothing really good or bad. I was content. The biscuits and gravy were not that good. The gravy seemed pretty cold and didn’t have your typical sausage flavor. A little bland than what I prefer. Overall, really great experience, although we didn’t win. I’ll definitely be back for another game. It’s nice to be in a bar with a lot of great vibes from other Packer fans. Thanks Rum Runner!!!
