R & R Automotive Service

R & R on Ogden is a family run shop that is run by the wonderful Mariana. They are incredibly honest and reasonable on price. I was stranded in Primm and had to have my vehicle towed into their shop on a Friday afternoon. I was from out of town and they could of gouged me on the cost to fix my vehicle, (and many shops would have), but they stayed open late to receive my vehicle and fixed it the next day on Saturday. in fact Mariana came from her home after closing on Saturday to open the shop, so I could pick-​up my vehicle. The price was very good and the service was amazing ! Highly Recommended.

Love these guys! Service is great! The lady at the front desk was so helpful and very nice! The mechanics were fast! Will definitely be coming back!

So we rolled into Vegas at about 3pm on Thursday afternoon and my check engine light had been on since half way through the ride from San Diego. We had to stop at the gas station down the street on Flamingo Rd. to wash up and change in a very gypsy like fashion.
Trying to keep it cool and on the safe side (and mainly on a budget) I decided it was best to have my SUV diagnosed, did a google search and I came across R&R Auto on Ogden St.
When we rolled up I was amazed to see that these guys had a huge shop with over six ports and all of them were full, which lead me to believe they have their shit together… sure nuff, in no time I told the lady at the counter what the problem was and I hadn’t waited more than 5 minutes when one of the Tech’s came out with a high-​end scanner that was able to tell me exactly why my check engine light was on.
In the meanwhile my wife and 4 yo daugter were able to cool off inside of the office with soda and water while they watched TV on the couch.
Apparently a vacuum plug had fallen off and my manifold needed some cleaning, needless to say these guys took care of it within the hour and also performed a leak test on my vacuum system. Their prices are waaaay below dealer cost and I was more than happy to pay for their expedient service, it’s like they were conscious that were tourists and didn’t want to spend our vacation time in a shop
The day before we left we stopped to get an oil change and they even gave us a lift to the old strip and picked us up so we wouldn’t have to wait around while our car was serviced. Keep up the good work guys!!! Highly recommend it.

My girlfriend and I drove from San Diego to Yellowstone to Grand Teton to Arches National Parks, vacation was over and heading back to SD, with a one night stay in Vegas. Put 2700 miles on my car in 10 days.
Entering Vegas, car started sounding a bit weird. .. .strained…pulling into the parking garage of the hotel started to make grinding sounds. I said «nothing we can do about it now so let’s enjoy it». Had a good night in Vegas and next morning decided to deal with the car.
I went to R&R. Confirmed that the engine was pretty much going to fall apart, and they had no problem that I wouldn’t let some mechanic I didn’t know fix it; they gave me phone numbers and quotes for new engines from independent companies. They warned me not to try to drive the 300 miles home. I was considering doing just that until I watched the engine shudder.
I really didn’t know what to do being far from home and lots of money in camping gear and other stuff in the car. The car sounded so bad that even people walking by on the street would cringe when I started it. The mechanic whose family owns the place told me he was trying to get to San Diego anyway to visit his brother when he had some time, and would tow my car on a trailer off his pick up for short money. I was shocked and couldn’t believe what he had done for us.
We stayed another night in Vegas and went with Chev the next day, met his family. Nicest people and absolutely saved our vacation.
I got home and took my car to my mechanic. Without any prior info he confirmed exactly what Chev had said.
No one wants to try to find an honest mechanic in Vegas. No one. But it seems like we did. The family and service was amazing. Hope I never need them again like that :) but recommend them to those that do.

I decided to go with this place mainly because they are literally a few blocks from where I live. Convenience won out, in this situation anyway.
In order to pass a smog check, I had to get my «Check Engine» light to go off. The main guy that works here (forgot his name. Bald, Latino guy with tattoos) turned the light off for me, but explained that I couldn’t just take it over to get the test, because it wouldn’t pass. I had to drive it around for a while and let it reset. If the light comes on again, then you have to fix something.
Well, of course my light comes back on, so he discovered that I had an EGR valve and electrical component that was broken. I left my car there that evening, and my noon the next day, it was done.
All in all, it set me back $ 230, but I have been told that is a pretty good rate for a service like that.
They also sell used tires and fix A/​C.
