Excellent. Perfect hole in the wall experience. We got the Bulgogi Taters and the Rice Bowl. Loved them. The tater tots were so crunchy and delicious and the rice bowl was packed with kimchi flavor. Even the chips and salsa here were great. Some of the best chips I’ve ever had.

This place is good, I wish I could’ve said great but they lacked a little flavor… the meats are fresh and the rice was tasted like it has been there a while. I will go back and eat inside and see how it is. the fish tacos look good.

One of the surprise visits during our trip to EDC. A must if you’re into fusion foods: Korean/Mexican. Check out the Bulgogi Fries, fish taco’s and Kim chi fried rice with Spam & egg on top!

So we found this local joint on Unilocal, and had to give them a whirl since we had a great Asian/Mexican fusion experience at Korilla in NYC. We actually went twice just to make sure we gave them a far shake. Unfortunately, though good, we’ve had better. The beef was too salty both times, and the veggies were pretty few compared to the carbs when we opted to go healthier the second time However, the Pork belly Mitsubi was unlike anything we’ve ever had… a must experience. Sadly, we really wanted to like this place… but would still recommend and have you decide for yourself.

Kept reading good reviews on this place so we finally checked it out. Had the kimchi fried rice with 3 choices of meat(chicken, beef, spam); bulgogi tater tots and wings. The tots were the best of the three, they were very crunchy and crispy. The kimchi fried rice I found to be a bit too salty and somehow the rice came out really wet. with fried rice, it’s gotta be dry. The wings were good, but nothing to write home about. I would probably come here again if I was in the area, but I wouldn’t come out of my way to visit again.

Food was definitely the kind you call comfort food. I got the bulgogi tater skillet and my hubby got the bulgogi torta plus an order of wings. We ate it all! Yep! That yummy! The skillet was on the smaller side but the tater tots were filling so I can’t complain. The service was nice and friendly. Will definitely be back.

Pretty good fusion place. I usually stay clear of fusion place but Korean Mexican interested me. I got the tostada with pork. Pretty unique. It was a rice cake topped with spicy pork and in house slaw. It wasn’t too big so you won’t become crazy full with it. Wife got the standard bulgulgi which was tasty. Wife got the pork belly masubi. Belly was salty which was wrapped around rice. It worked pretty nice. I would go back.

We ended up at this location after trying to go to the Rainbow location and finding that it’s closed on Mondays. Despite the drive we enjoyed our meal. Solidly good food for a great value! Chips with guac and salsa to start you off. Bulgogi rice bowl — their version of bibimbop; perfectly cooked egg and delicious Korean hot sauce to go with it Pork, chicken, and beef tacos — nicely marinated meats Full order of fusion fries– their version of carne Asada fries; sauce adds a nice sweetness

Awesome is overused; however, in this case, it’s wholly true. I’m only rating the food here… which totally deserves 5 stars(the location is a bit of a dive, but the food TOTALLY made up for that!) I had the double-meat Bulgogi plate with beef and chicken, no rice and steamed veggies, and it was absolutely perfect for the slow-carb lifestyle I’m leading. Both the beef and chicken Bulgogi were perfectly cooked(i.e.: not dry and nasty), moist and tender and FULL of awesome flavor. The veggies were also perfectly al dente(not mush/not raw), tasting deliciously fresh and with just enough crunch to satisfy. My friend had the Bulgogi beef burrito… and damn that was more than a little epic! Bulgogi stuffed inside a flour tortilla, with rice and cheese, and then topped with salsa… Damn fine! There was a selection of Korean and Mexican sauces and salsas to choose from, each of them wonderful; not too spicy, but with enough of a zip to your your attention. All full-bodied in their flavor, and did not disappoint I highly recommend this establishment, for comfort food as well as for low-carb lifestylers.

Came here on a Saturday morning right before hitting the popular Vegas day beach clubs. We were greeted by a very friendly man who explained the whole menu for us and the different options we had when ordering. I don’t recall his name but he was very attentive of us and made sure we enjoyed the Ko-Mex experience. We had the kimchi fried rice with tofu, bulgogi fries, fish tacos, and the winner of our meal: tater tots with bulgogi! Ala carte, the kimchi fried rice and fish tacos were good. Not great, but good. They have two house sauces — one of which, the sweeter one — brought everything together when added to the meals, bringing my aforementioned«good» up to a wonderful! I didn’t get to try the other house sauce, which they explained was spicier than the one we had, but again I can’t make it past a level 4 on the spiciness scale. The tater tots were just amazing, both with and without the house sauce. Tip: 5% off if you pay with cash!

Ok first of is a dive. The menu is small and simple. Got your fusion, your Korean and your mexican. We try the Fish lettuce wrap taco and Calamari lettuce wrap taco, they both tasted really good. Also ordered the Spam Kimchi fried rice. It was a 1st for me but not something that I will be crazy about it. Still was good and finish the whole plate. Service was a 5 star, all the time on top of you. 2 interesting things that is a place, I guess, very well known by Metro. I felt like I was at a court house break room or something. Now when I saw the Health Dept. inspector eating there! That’s a super plus for the business. We’ll done and we’ll be coming back.

Love Korean and Mexican food so the idea for Komex is great however the execution was a little lacking. Food was good but seemed to be slopped together and was quite greasy(but I guess I should expect that when I order a bulgogi burrito). The staff was nice but a bit disinterested in answering my questions about the food. Overall experience was good but not great. I will give it another try in the near future to try some additional items so hopefully Komex will bring it the second time around.

The outside of the building and the location are not ideal and the inside is quite small. However, the food is very good and we will be visiting again. They have a sign up that lets you know they don’t consider themselves fast food and every order is made fresh so they ask you to be patient. They also mention you are allowed to call ahead to order if you are short on patience. With that being said it appears they meant it as our food tasted very fresh. Now on top of their flavorful meat and well made dishes the simple creativity in fusing the 2 styles of food are why i gave it a 5 star instead of a 4 star. Their customer service seems to be in order at least it was when i went.

I love the idea of Korean-Mexican fusion. But, I don’t know if we went there on a bad day, or they paid Guy Fieri a ton to hawk their place, but I wasn’t impressed. I ordered the bulgogi burrito and Jamie had the bulgogi plate. The meat was dry, and I had to ask for kimchi on the side. Korean restaurant, kimchi ONTHESIDE??? There should have been kimchi IN everything. Sorry, folks, I’m not going back.

First time going off the strip to go eat dinner. Very interesting mix of Korean food and Mexican food. I guess it works. I tried their fusion Flautas. First time every trying it but hey!~~~ it was pretty good. My friend told me its just usually just cheese and no meat but they added bul gogi meat in it. Pretty good~! Service was good. Everyone’s really nice and helpful.

This isn’t a full review! This is a pre-review based off of a short encounter. The pre-review will cover my experience today, when I dropped off my donation for« Unilocal’s Toys for Tater Tots Drive!» Ok, so I dropped off my toy around 3pm today. As I entered, I stood at the counter for maybe 30 seconds before I was greeted by the hostess. I inquired about where to leave the toy that I brought. The young lady didn’t know. She said to ask a man that had just finished eating at a table. As the man approached, the lady asked him about the Toy Drive. He kindly pointed out a box that was on the top of a table(or something similar). He then said, «You get a tot too.» I did know that I was suppose to get a tot but he was very friendly with reminding me. So, he yelled to the back for someone to make the tot. He asked me to have a seat and he quoted me 5 – 6 minutes in waiting time. After maybe 5 minutes, he bought out the bag, containing the tot. He gracefully thanked me and vice versa. I then walked out, got in my car and pulled off, without even checking the food. I had my friend with me, so she actually wanted to opened my container of tots, because everyone knows that tots or any potato is best hot. As she busted through the bag, we were overtaken by an incredible aroma. I’ve never smelled, or tasted, for that matter, any tots that smelled as wonderfully as these did. She finally opened the container and we were both surprised to see that the tots were covered with a combination of ground beef, bacon, peppers and cheese. I don’t know if they were suppose to come that way, but we were certainly glad they did. We both took a few bites and it was absolutely delicious. The spicy mixed perfectly with the meat and they all complemented the tots to perfection. The whole dish was seasoned JUSTRIGHT! We were fighting over who got the last bite, it was so good! I don’t know if the man(potentially the owner) realized he had just earned himself a loyal, satisfied customer, or not. But, he surely did! And just to think, we probably would not have known anything about this place, if it wasn’t for the toy drive. My friend and I have already added this place to our short list of favorites. We’re definitely looking forward to going back in the near future.

You can’t always trust Unilocal… KoMex Fusion was such a disappointment. I stayed at the Bellagio and paid 70 bucks round trip to get here too(yes, call me crazy). Everything was so greasy! The bulgogi fries barely had any bulgogi. The food didn’t sit well in my stomach either. What a letdown.

My mom and dad were visiting me in Vegas and saw this place on the Travel Channel. We came in around 6pm on a Thursday– not too busy. Staff was SUPER friendly and funny. He helped us with the order to give us a great variety. Even explained the history of the joint to us. The food was complex. Eating a burrito or taco and tasting the tang & spice of Asian cuisine was intense. Easily could eat this every day. The komex salsa has a nice hot spice to it but can be easily added to top every dish. Highly recommend.

We started coming here a few years back after a friend had it catered for her son’s birthday. First of all, I love korean fare and I love tacos. The two together… unstoppable. I love that it’s some hole-in-the-wall. People get their panties in a bunch when the spot isn’t classy enough. Like hello, you’re eating tacos, burritos, etc… how fancy do you need the parking lot and area to be? I usually order the bulgogi tacos(marinated korean beef) and their fusion take on tostada. It’s basically crispy rice with all the taco fixings on top. The crispy rice and all that jazz on top is perfect according to my taste buds. My son orders the fusion burrito and this thing is more like a chimichanga! In other words, it’s huge. We have also gone to their second location and the quality of food is no different than this location. You know how sometimes businesses open other locations then all of a sudden their own menu doesn’t translate properly by the time you get it – not here. I believe it’s a husband-wife duo. The wife runs the buffalo location because I usually see her there, and the husband runs this location. Both are nice people! Don’t have any complaints about their service. They do offer Mexican food, but seriously… please do not come to a korean-mexican fusion joint by ordering team Mexican or team korean. Gotta combine the powers and try it out for yourself. Deelish. Definitely kid friendly, but I wouldn’t bring a stroller in on a busy day. Certainly a place on a day when you feel like having some cheap eats.

Dubbed as our Vegas weekend cheap eat, the marriage of Mexican and Korean was a good concept that suffered from poor execution. Komex is located in a strip mall and is a bit of a hole in the wall with paper napkin drawings taped to the wall and a dark, dirty water? line that made its way along the wall, counter, buckets, etc. The floor is chipped and dated as is much of the remaining décor. But hey, I came here for the food right? We ordered a few beef bulgogi tacos, a few pork bulgogi tacos, the half order of loaded fries, and a chimichanga to split for two. We received complimentary chips with guac and salsa. Chips were oily and needed salt, guac was quite bland, and salsa not memorable. The tacos were the highlight of the meal albeit a bit messy. Fries were super soggy and execution of the dish was straight up poor. The chimichanga was equally as meh that we left half of it untouched. Of the beef, pork, and chicken bulgogi meats we tried, chicken was the worst. Good for a cheap eat that is not Chipotle or Taco Bell, but not worthy of the accolades it has received. Cash money = 5% off.

We tried KoMex – a Korean Mexican fusion joint – when we lived in Vegas because being from Hawaii, that’s not weird at all. Korean good. Mexican good. Fusion good. Sounded like a win?! Besides Bulgogi is gold if done right. Couldn’t resist. We got the bulgogi fries and bulgogi kimchi fried rice to share, my husband and I both ordered a bulgogi burrito, my girlfriend got the bulgogi chicken burrito and her guy got the bulgogi chimichanga. The bulgogi fries: delicious and what you’d expect from marrying decent bulgogi with fries and bold fusion sauces. Can’t say I’ve had anything like it. Bars should take notice because I’d describe this dish as the drunk person’s best friend at 2 in the morning. & on that note, unfortunately the fries are too soggy to be sober. So it’s like yummy bulgogi fusion-ness on… mashed fries? Kimchi fried rice: does the job but hmm. Eh. Meh. I say this as a true half Asian and kimchi fan. The bulgogi burrito was pretty great because we weren’t expecting a Mexican burrito. We expected a KoMex bulgogi burrito. Whatever that is. I approved and my hubby – he’s a man/disposal, liked it a lot. On the same note our friend«loved» the bulgogi chimichanga. And the chicken bulgogi was rated 4 stars but come on, do a beef bulgogi for the full experience. All in all 3.7(my rating) to 4(everyone else’s) Stars The place was clean, but nothing special. Oh, they serve free chips and salsa. Yippee.

I am convinced that this original location is better than the second location. If you’ve never tried Komex, try this one! The cooking surfaces are more well-seasoned here because it used to be a Chinese restaurant? Stick with the fusion tacos, and order the Korean wings if you’re tempted. The bulgogi and kimchee here don’t necessarily impress as standalone items, but in a taco you should enjoy them? It used to be really cheap to eat here, now it’s not as cheap, but still somewhere between Chipotle and Lindo Michoacan…

This was the best food I have ever had. We ordered a lot of bulgogi. Bulgogi fries, bulgogi burrito, bulgogi chimichanga, and a two meat bulgogi plate. We only ordered half orders, but there was so much food we had to get to go containers. And the wait staff was super friendly. He was smiling the entire time and quick to notice if we needed anything. I am definitely coming back.

KoMex Fusion-fusion Korean/Mexican food. It’s unique, cheap and most importantly, flavorful. Parking is terrible here but when you are lucky enough to find a spot and enter Komex, all that stress and frustration is out the window. What you might stress over is that you forgot your elastic pants on to fit all that food in your system. SERVICE Fairly slow but they give you complimentary chips which comes with salsa and guacamole. Enjoy those chips while they prepare your food. FOOD My favorite is their fusion taco. I like mine with beef and or chicken. I also like to substitute pico de gallo for kimchi which adds a nice kick. These things are $ 1-$ 2 and is off the hook. Make sure to order 2 or 3 of them since each taco is small and won’t fill you up. I’ve also gotten their bulgogi cheesesteak. Flavorful bulgogi but too much cheese for me personally. Huge portion. Burritos here are humongous. Half of this will fill you up. It just means you have the other half of burrito to take home and enjoy the next day. Packed with goodness and it’s so good. CONCLUSION Perfect as late night food except they are not open late. You definitely get the bang for your buck. Good food with slow service = 4 stars.

Really liked this restaurant, good price, and great quality of meat. Most places use really fatty meats, not this place! We came here during lunch hour, and we were seated within 1 minute. It was a large group, but they had no trouble. The service was good they filled my water multiple times(which is important, since I drink like a camel when at restaurants). They brought out the food, fresh and hot! what we got: 1. Fried rice with tofu! So good, it was a half portion and $ 6.5 and more than I could handle 2. The Nachos – nice favor, bolgogi meat plus pico de gallo, jalapeños cheese. Would skip next time. 3. Spam musubi – large portions! Very good! 4. Bolgogi meat, rice and chicken Will come again, would recommend it to others
