Decent dive bar to grab a couple of cold beers. Staff is friendly and attentive. They do serve food which is a limited menu. I will visit again.

Greatest dive bar in Las Vegas. You can play everything you want on the juke box. All the explicit rap music or anything, huge plus. Food is amazing. Prime rib dip sandwich is my favorite. Their burgers and chicken sandwiches are amazing. Great bartenders. Also it’s not just normal bar food it’s a chef menu. If you haven’t been there you should go at least eat something from the menu.

Great food. Service was excellent. The atmosphere was upbeat. I enjoyed myself and the food I ordered. The prime rib dip is A1!

Smoky dive where you might get thirsty waiting for a beverage. The at least the beer is cold and the music sounds good.

If you are from out-of-town, don’t miss this place! I checked this place out, because I wanted a night cap off of the strip, you know. Something low key and unsuspecting. I got that and way more from my experience at Hammer & Ales. Logan, the bartender kept the beer flowing and is just a cool guy in general. All the local heads that kick it there are like a little family of people that convene at this spot. They keep great music coming from the jukebox and they are welcoming of out-of-town folks. I had great conversations, felt at home and will go back anytime I’m in Vegas! Traded numbers with people, they were that cool! Stays open all night, you might have a celeb roll through from what I hear and the owner is a pretty cool guy as well. The only thing I wished is that they did karaōke, but that didn’t make or break my experience. This was the highlight of my trip!

Very polite service. The drinks were strong and inexpensive. We didn’t try the food, but my friends who have eaten there, say they love the food.

Amazing Dive Bar! The hammer has great selection of beer and amazing food. Great atmosphere, great people. The bartender Alicia on Monday and Tuesday nights is by far the best bartender I’ve come across here in vegas.

Hammer & Ales on Russell rd is a great place to stop by for a beer and service is wonderful. I drive by coming to & from work and always wanted to stop in. I was greeted by a much friendly bartender and caught her has she was leaving only to be greeted by her relief. Well, service got even better. Two young bartenders vey friendly and attentive! I noticed they do have have a kitchen but haven’t eaten here, yet. I will come back again. The service is just with coming back to!

Outside looking in, local dive bar to the extreme. Here’s what stuck out at first around 3:00 p. m… — Unnoticeable unless traveling Westbound; — Sticky floors and dirty bathrooms; — Townie factory workers pounding Budweiser before their catching the bus home; — A pool table, Golden Tee,(tight) video poker games at the bar, and TouchTunes; — An underwhelming selection of crafts/micros, seemingly contradictory of the brand. Our immediate exit seemed inevitable… right? We ended up throwing a $ 20 in the machines, staying for about an hour, and having a pretty good time at the Hammer & Ales. Our bartender Lisa was friendly as hell, and a welcome breath of fresh Las Vegas air. Drinks were on the house while we were gambling, which we didn’t expect off-strip(SCORE!!). We heard so much about the food, but the oven was down and options were limited. Lisa graciously hooked us up with some fries, rings, and marvelous housemade ranch sauce which I’d likely consider drinking from a straw if I was in the constraints of my own home! Had some great convo with Lisa and a local Vegasan, gambled a bit, and even got to see«Barbie» turn in a handwritten application exclaiming her ability to pass a drug test! Yay Barbie! Probably had to be there for that, but trust me… only in Vegas. Judging a book by its cover, we probably would’ve ran from this place after a few minutes. But hang out for a little while and read a bit deeper into this classic, and you’ll be hooked like my wife and that 50 Shades of Grey stuff. Stop in, stay a while, and I’ll bet you’ll find a place in you Vegas heart for Hammer & Ales. THANKSLISA!

It’s wonderfully divey and you never know what you’re going to get from night to night, but that’s part of the charm here! It’s a great place to start the night, and end the night!

Stopped in for lunch. Friendly service, good tap selection. Ordered chicken fingers & onion rings, got a touch of food poisoning. Never again.

It’s a smokey dive bar… but man the Swiss mushroom burger was AWESOME! Fries had great seasoning and I tried beer I hadn’t tried before. I was playing the poker machine in the bar, so they comped one of my beers. Bartenders changed shifts while I was there and both of them excelled in customer service. totally worth it. The bathroom could have used some help, but I’ve been in worse.

So, I got a thick entertainment book for Christmas from a employee, and its mostly bogo coupons, or 20% off your bill stuff, and this place was on it… so first impress was: Outside Décor: needs help, or more brightness and inviting Inside Décor: not much, just one pool table, its a dive bar Bar seats: not cushioned Non Bar seats: on wheels, round tables(sits 4) Smoking: yes Bar food menu: viewed on a xerox pieces of paper Bar food QUALITY: impressive Bar food QUANTITY: moderate/just enough Ordered 3 things: Buffalo chicken strips(medium), came with fries or onion rings, celery and carrots(a good appetizer) Angus burger came open face, and fries *order medium rare, got medium rare* (a mans burger, very good, would order again) Adiós MF(right on the money) Bar STAFF: Alicia(cool, happy spirited, smiles alot, great personality, would follow her to any bar she bartends at) I was in a half food coma and half alcoholic buzz coma, Alicia offered me a bottled water(no charge) til i sobered up to drive out of there. Customer service from her: 3 thumbs up.

We saw this place on Bar Rescue and wanted to check it out. My wife and I showed up about 9:30PM. I was starving and planned on eating here. Unfortunately the bartender said the kitchen was closed because they had a slow night. I had one beer and left only because I couldn’t keep drinking without getting some kind if food in my belly. Next time in Vegas I will definitely give this place another shot. And maybe more stars. The locals were extremely friendly and greeted us as soon as we walked in. The bartender was also very friendly. Wish I could have experienced the food.

Bar Rescue stop number three… this was the highlight of the night but still only earned 4 stars. The beer selection was pretty good. Probably the 2nd best in the city. It was bright and airy inside with hardly a hint of stale beer or cigarette smoke you’d expect walking into a «dive» bar. I spent a few minutes standing in front of the bar trying to determine which of the many beers to choose from(Only had two out of stock). The beer wasn’t all that cold and had a large head of foam but tasted pretty darn good. Their gaming room with electronic golf and a few other old fashion bar games went unused the entire time we were there. Seems like a complete waste of space to me. I’d think they could make a better use of that area. The door to the men’s restroom refused to stay closed. Anyone walking the hallway could see the guy standing at the Urinal so I used the stall. Not use to being in a bar with only two toilets even in the men’s room. Our Bartender was Rebecca. She was absolutely awesome and chatted with my fiancé and I a good bit.

As one of the Las Vegas bars featured on the hot Spike TV show Bar Rescue, I really had high hopes coming into experiencing this bar for the first time. Unfortunately, it seemed to me that a lot of the improvements made to the bar can be chalked up to TV magic. Sure the bar clearly went through some changes for the better, but it seemed to look a whole lot more flattering on my television screen. The bathroom was a dump. Several beers were out of stock. From the outside, the place just doesn’t appear to be a bar despite the large mural painted on the outside wall by the entrance. The place is a dive bar, I get that, but there’s just not much too it. The bartender was pleasant enough and was on top of refilling my glass, but she would not stop mentioning what time her shift ended. It was as though her customers were getting in between her and her freedom from working behind the bar. Other than that I did not get a chance to sample any of the food and may go back to do so and perhaps update this review.

I came here after CMYE with my roommate Roy E too keep the party going and the drinks flowing. I am fan of Bar Rescue show been too two other bars that been on the show. Unfortunately for Hammer & Ales felt like this bar is my least favorite Rescue out of the three I been too first hand. Not that it was all bad the things that did stand out for me was like outside of the building with the art work and like the well lit sign that can see from the road. It located in industry area one that only business other then strip club down the road open at night. So make sure look for the sign or else drive right by it. I like all the widescreen televisions that inside the bar couple of them nice size and perfect chill watch sports(last night case primetime Olympic coverage) drink beers talk stories with friends. They have separate room that has a pool table and dart board. Not sure if they do the world beer stamp card from the show. I like the chalkboard world map on the wall. The bartender she was friendly, on it came too our beers ask us before close too empty, and she has this positive upbeat energy vibe. Really in the end Hammer & Ales still dive bar for me. As for Dive bars nothing that really stood out for me thankfully bartender and hanging out with roommate made the most of first time visit. I know they serve food but after the food coma was in from CMYE last thing on my mind so never asked the bartender for the menu, She never asked us if wanted one. They do have nice selection of beers on tap too choose from although last night felt like looking at the taps few that was out. The area is not exactly the most safe area and coming out of the bar feel like looking over my shoulder something bad going too happen. Really in the bar if not gambling on the machines, sports fan watching games, or playing pool or darts no excitement come here too Hammer & Ales. Maybe the food but get back too you on that one. I might come back too check out the food. I think would rather stick too my normal dive bars.
