It has sort of become a tradition that on my birthday October 26th we visit a pumpkin patch as a family. This year I decided to give opportunity village’s magical forest Halloveen Haunt a try and boy did we have a blast. We purchased one adult all access pass for me one child all access pass for my son my husband just came in on general admission and he and the baby enjoyed themselves as well. She’s only 9 months old so she got in free and was able to ride some of the rides as well. She went on the carousel twice and the ghost train and enjoyed herself immensely on both rides. My 9 year old son enjoyed going down the slide the most. The part that we all enjoyed very much so was the #Halloveenhunt. A scavenger hunt that you had to take pictures with certain attractions and then post on Instagram. It really was a great time! The funnel cake was delicious and we would definitely do it again. The adult all access pass was $ 20 the child all access pass was $ 18 and the general admission was $ 11. Look forward to visiting again during Christmas season & seeing it in its true glory. The best part of all is the proceeds go to the opportunity village charity.

I mean, the proceeds go towards a good cause, but in my opinion HallOVeen is best suited strictly for families with young children. The normally Christmas themed Magical Forest revamps itself in October for Halloween, but the Christmas decorations and attractions in the park are still very evident. General admission for adults is $ 11.99, and at a leisurely pace one sees all there is to see within 20 minutes. The attractions onsite include a miniature putt putt course, a carousel, a train, and a tubing slide. Each ride is $ 3, or you can buy an unlimited pass for $ 21.99. I went the general admission route, so really all there was to do was walk through the Spooky Forest. The park is littered with sponsored booths handing out candy to kiddos. I think I saw maybe 5 booths in total? I went to HallOVeen on their Pirate themed night. During the last week in October, every day has a different theme. I only saw two employees dressed as pirates though. All in all, HallOVeen’s audience is meant for families and kids under 10 years old. Buying those unlimited passes is the best way to go! ***Pro Tip: There’s a $ 2 off discount for military and seniors. There was also a Groupon available for unlimited ride passes for adults and kids.*** Unilocal100CHALLENGE2015: #248

What better night to visit than during the full moon! I’ve been wanting to come here for years and was excited to finally see it. There’s so much more to do than just stroll along the path in the spooky forest, although I’d say that was the highlight. The attention to detail in the decorations was amazing. The castle within the forest was impressive, as were the Xmas trees decorated with all sorts of Halloween motifs. I was digging the Ghostbusters theme and other music that played throughout the place. The attractions, which are not included with regular admission price, are not to be missed. You can buy a wristband or pay $ 3 per attraction. Proceeds go to Opportunity Village, of course, so go crazy! There’s probably some attraction for everyone, and not just the kiddos. We enjoyed the mini golf and the 3-D maze(you get 3-D glasses!), which I’m calling a Funhouse of Horrors. The maze wasn’t really scary, just loud and had amazing props and it was all neon SOCOOL. There’s also a slide, carousel and a haunted attraction. Plenty of treats were available, from BBQ to popcorn and candy, and there’s also a cool Halloween store. The store of course will become a Xmas store next. I can’t wait to return to enjoy the Magical Forest, Xmas style.

Opportunity village has done a wonderful job at transforming their magical forest into a delightfully spooky attraction for Halloween! There’s trick-or-treating all through the park and lots of fun stuff to do and see. I am so glad that we get to enjoy these beautiful grounds twice a year now!
