Just got off the phone with Derek McCarthy. He threw this sales pitch on how he can make me a star and how i can get a call from a casting directors right away and then told me i had to pay him $ 400 for 2 years and after i told him i didn’t have the money to spend on that he got mad and told me «Casting Directors will not consider me». I kindly explained to him how my classes have told me i never have to pay money for an audition he got mad at me and said «thats not how they work!» sounds like a scam to me…

Please for the love of all that is holy do NOT give any money to this company. They are not a casting director, not a management company, and not an arm of any production. They pray on naïve hopefuls to be included in what is a completely useless database.
If you are a newbie, register with legit operations like actors access and lacasting.
These people at Explore are shameless and awful.

These clowns stole my phone number from LA casting or some site and have harassed me with texts and calls for years. I never signed up and have repeatedly told them to remove me from their calling list. Every couple of months I get more calls and texts about «exciting extra work! $ 800/​a day!» Or such nonsense. Reporting all their numbers to my phone provider. Just search their name to see the complaints.
