Contrology Pilates

Purchased a groupon for pilates classes at the end of last year and had an impossible time scheduling through the website. FInally got a hold of someone in Jan after repeated calls and was told that as long as I used the first appt before the expiration I could use the others after. I was able to schedule one session the end of Jan and really enjoyed it. Since then I have tried repeatedly to schedule appts and am never approved through the website. I have also called several times with no answer. I will be asking Groupon for a refund.

I had initially purchased the Groupon deal as well (back in October 2012, I believe) and had no issues at all with scheduling or contacting anyone from the studio. My telephone calls were returned promptly and I’ve used more than one instructor at the studio and I’ve loved them all. I used up my 5 semi-​private classes and I’ve been going ever since.
This studio is WAY better than the other studio I’d gone to in the past with the pilates reformer. PLUS the instructors are very knowledgeable & can work with people of all levels (beginner, intermediate & advanced). And the price was also right, as the other studios charge more for semi-​private classes and they don’t pay attention and help you through the exercises, which defeats the whole purpose in the first place.
Everything in this studio is immaculate & I’m definitely a person who is concerned about germs as I’m OCD about things being clean.
This was a great Groupon purchase for me & I’m ever so thankful for my instructor, Angie whom I see on a weekly basis and she takes good care of me.

I had a Groupon for 5 private classes and it was so well worth it! I just purchased a nice fat package of semi-​privates and it takes the class price down to $ 11, which is less than most you would pay to go to a packed yoga or Pilates class without personal instruction.
I had some very frustrating scheduling issues with them initially, which they made right. Amy is my instructor and I adore her. She’s a wonderful trainer and funny to boot.
Another thing I like about the studio is the brand new equipment and open space. It’s not cramped or loud, even with a busy gym floor right outside. I do wish that it was a little more private — the walls are all-​glass and when you’re on the reformer or the cadillac with your ass in the air, the guys on the other side tend to stop and forget that they’re supposed to be lifting weights. Some light curtains could do the trick.
Whether you love Pilates or have never tried it, I highly recommend Contrology.

Similar complaints as the previous reviewer. I wish I had seen this review prior to purchasing a groupon (In September 2012) for private lessons. It was very difficult to set up an initial appointment as they are IMPOSSIBLE to reach by phone or email. After several attempts of not being able to schedule because of their website problems (Michelle, an instructor, confirmed they were having problems on the website when i finally went in for my lesson), I finally reserved an appointment. Michelle was a great, attentive, knowledgable instructor. When I asked her if my 5 lessons had an expiration date, she answered they did not expire as long as I activated my groupon before the expiration date. Cut to 3 weeks later, and I receive an email telling me my lessons would expire in 1 week. I tried to schedule 3 lessons through their website and two days later I received an email saying my appointment request was denied (period) end of story. So I again scheduled another 3 classes and same email denying me my appointments. I called and left two voicemails a week apart and have yet to hear back from anyone about scheduling my appointments. I feel cheated out of my 3 remaining classes and have not been able to contact anyone at this studio despite several attempts. Terrible customer service and they obviously could not care less about ethical business practices. STAY AWAY and spend your money elsewhere.
