Checker Cab

I would like to express my gratitude to your driver Belte Tesfa who drove us from the Airport to Palzzo hotel on 7/19/2023. We arrived @the hotel and than my husband realized that he left his wallet in the taxi. We were so lucky the honest and compassionate Driver came back to the hotel to return the treasured wallet (that if lost would ruin our entire stay and more) Thank you for employing wonderful drivers ???? ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I called a cab with checker cab and was told it would be at my place in 20 min. I called 25 min later and was told wait 20 more minutes. And again after 25 minutes more I called and was told they weren’t sending a cab to me because they were too busy. Ridiculous! I live one block from the strip, 5 blocks South of Freemont, in prime cab area with several cab stands within walking distance. So, I walked up to to Freemont and there were at least 4 cabs sitting in live doing nothing!!!
This is absolute shit. I was over an hour late to an appointment to get my car (the shopped stayed open just for me) because the cabs strung me along while they sat at hotel cab stands. I really hope über and lyft put a lot of these shitty cabs companies under. Good riddance!!!

Awful service. My sister just missed her flight because they never showed. They said 20 min and I called 45 min later and they couldn’t even find my reservation at first: Said it would be another «10 min». I had to leave work and drive her myself. Hopefully my sister finds another flight home. Very disappointing. Can’t wait for über !!! At least they are on time. And honest!

Great service! Arrived in 20 minutes after I requested for a cab. Mind you, we were staying about 15 mins away from the strip.

Once again Las Vegas cab company continues to disappoint. Called at 6pm, called at 6:30 and was told the cab would be here any minute. Called at 7 and was told they had my number wrong so the driver wasn’t coming. I have used über all over the world and have never had a problem. Can’t wit til I can use it in my own home town.

Worst! Cab service ever!!! Can’t wait for Über to take over this town. So if u need to get a cab please call 2 hours in advance. Bc they’ll probably take way longer.

Horrible. Thank goodness Über is going to be in business soon, in Vegas. They can’t even quote a decent ETA… they say «If nobody shows up after 20 minutes, call me back.» ugh.

In the past, it took 2 hours for this company to send a cab to my address, so I called 2 hours ahead this time. The employee who answered the phone said that I could only call 30 minutes ahead of my requested pickup time. I let the employee know that I am pretty far out and I thought they might like the extra time to plan. The employee hung up on me. You have a good night too, I guess?

Checker Cab #3545 picked us up at Circus Circus and then pulled to the side of the road for several minutes (meter running, of course) to figure out how to get to Boulder Hwy. Had to use my cellphone to map the address and then went the longest way he could to get us to there. Husband left his cellphone in cab. Called for 30 minutes before driver answered, then said it would cost us $ 20 to get phone back. Took another cab back to Circus Circus ($ 6 cheaper than Checker}. We called to meet 1^st driver with the phone, all the while tracking the phone, which indicated the driver was sitting across the street, However, the driver told us it would take 15 minutes to drive ‘back’ to Circus Circus. He let us wait 20+ minutes and then proudly announced how honest his company was, that they had cameras in the cabs and everything. Could have fooled us.
I understand normal procedure is to turn the phone in at the end of the shift and we’d have to pick it up from the cab office, so I appreciated the phone being returned. Long hauling us and lying to us as we watched him sit across the street for over 20 minutes (40 total as he was expecting us back) was what upset us.

The customer service lady that answers when you call to get a cab was almost laughably rude and impatient. I nearly canceled just to give my business to another company. I guess when you pay politicians to get rid of competition (Über) then you don’t have to hire polite employees. Two stars instead of one because the cab driver did a fine job once he arrived.

I called Checker Cab at 1:15 PM today and the driver was here at 1:30 PM. Travel was 5 miles cost 25 dollars that included 3 dollar tip & 3 dollar credit card fee. Driver was nice. Overall GREAT experience thank GOD!

At a corporate park. Said 15 – 20, after 25 min I call and they the some number car is on the way. 20 minutes later still no cab and hitched ride from a client. Thankfully made it to the airport on time.

Wow. rudest and dumbest people in Vegas. if I had a daughter is pay her NOT to take this. Not only was I embarrassed, hurt, and dumbfounded by their stupidity I was mad. I don’t get mad. I wouldn’t be paid to take this taxi again. I wish I could give zero stars

Called in for pickup at Ethel M candy and arrived no more then 15 min. Driver friendly and cab clean. Timely drop off to hotel.

I’m from New York and take Cab rides everyday. Never have I been so annoyed at the rude behavior from a taxi cab driver before. I along with My family was told that our destination of three miles was too short and a waste of money for the company. The fare was 15 dollars so be the judge. Taxi driver 5698

Called for pick-​up at Musashi’s Japanese Steakhouse. The lady on the phone said that I had a 20 min ETA and to call back if the cab wasn’t there in 20. Cab got there in less than 10 minutes. Awesome service. (Was already waiting 45 min for another cab company to pick us up unt we decided to call another cab co.)

They answered right away and sent someone with in 20 mins to a remote spot early inthe
driver was really nice, helped me out and even found my mitten I lost

I recently had a cab hailed for me at a Las Vegas casino. The valet called out for a cabby to show up and this awful looking man showed up in a cab. I told him I needed a ride to the airport and he asked me” «fast way or scenic strip?» .which right then I knew was suspect. The guy drove up onto the freeway and for some reason the meter was moving faster than if we were just driving on regular roads. I fear there was some mighty suspicious doings here.hmmm.
First of all, I asked the valet earlier how much it should cost me to take a cab to the airport, the valet said «about $ 17 dollars». Well it turned out it cost me almost double that at $ 30 fucking dollars (without a tip!) and the dirty cabbie was looking at me as if I owed him a tip on top of that! These people are downright horrible. Really are. They’re just so dishonest. I can’t stand that.
WTF?
I can’t wait until Lyft starts service around Las Vegas and beyond. It’s about time these private services start taking over and pushing these dirty cab drivers out of business. I can’t wait for that to happen. I’m sick and tired of being ripped off by cab drivers in their vomit filled cabs.
Please Lyft, I hope you are reading this! We need you to decimate the cab industry and start service all over this country!!!

Had the most honest cab driver last night. I dropped both my wallet and my phone in the taxi. When I discovered this and called the phone from my hotel, the driver actually answered it and brought the phone and my wallet to me at the hotel. I gave him a reward and about 10 hugs. I know how lucky I am and it feels good to know there are people like this out there. Checker, you guys are lucky to have one!

On the afternoon of August 18, 2012, my husband and I were put in a taxi to go from the Mirage Casino to our show at another hotel. The driver asked where we were going and then pulled out. After waiting at a very long red light we turned onto a busy Las Vegas Blvd and the driver just began screaming at us that we should have walked and that he now had to sit in traffic for such a short distance. I asked why he was screaming at us, and why it mattered about traffic because he was still getting paid. He just kept screaming that we should have gotten out while we were still at our hotel. Seeing as we were by a sidewalk, and not moving, my husband tried to pay him so we could get out, and not be harassed by this crazy man. He then locked the door and started screaming at us more. I was terrified. If he had simply told us that walking would have been easier due to traffic before we had left, we would have gladly walked and Thanked him for the suggestion. In addition, he made no effort to tell us this while we were stopped at the red light at our hotel. Instead he waited until we were in traffic and couldn’t get out of the vehicle. He eventually just pulled over, we paid, and as we were leaving he screamed at us to «eat it». I am still baffled by this man’s reaction to us wanting to ride in a cab instead of walking in 100 degree temperatures. I can’t express how scary it is to get into a cab and then have the driver begin screaming at you for no reason. Then to top it off he locked the doors! Why? Truly a horrific moment I hope to never experience again.

I guess this cab company is much more reliable if you are on the strip.
As a local, this has been a very frustrating process. Luckily, this trip was
not a emergency!
I waited for a cab for over an hour before trying to contact the dispatcher
once again as recommended by her. She advised me to wait 20 minutes
if no one showed up, to call again.
I have now clocked 41:38 on hold waiting to speak to the dispatcher and counting.
I thought i would write this review while I wait for a cab. Ho hum.: (
