I have been meaning to attend the Asian Moon Festival for a few years and this was my first time I could go. It’s been many years since I have been to The Springs Preserve which is a nice venue in and of itself with so much to learn with the gardens and other exhibits. The price for the festival I believe was $ 8.95 but to upgrade to a $ 25 year pass seemed like a better deal. Looks like the Preserve got a lot of new members due to the festival. In terms of the Moon Festival itself, I enjoyed the various exhibitions, dancers and martial arts demonstrations. I think, though the venue is a dilution of the overall experience because it is so spread out. If you’re at the kids playground or a food booth and another act starts you have to sprint up stairs to try to catch the act. I give 5 stars to the performers but only two stars to the flow of the venue at that location. I will also say that many of the attendees probably couldn’t even find all the vendors. If you are not able bodied, that would even be more so the case. I expected to find more vendors booths and food booths around the seating area and there really were only two, one from the on site café and a shave ice vendor who was using ice cubes and a food processor-really? There’s fun to be had for sure and it is reasonably priced, but the venue for me doesn’t work for this event.
