Anthem Periodontics and Dental Implants

I decided to see a specialist after being told conflicting things from my general dentist regarding my bleeding gums. The office staff was very nice when I first arrived. I got there a little early to fill out paperwork and since I was early they offered to let me sit in their massage chair. Seriously, I will come to all my appointments a little early just so I can sit in the massage chair, loved it! I am always anxious when I see a dentist. The assistant in the back was so awesome and really took the edge off. Dr. Allen came in to do the exam. She was very gentle and nice. She explained everything so well. The most important thing was she actually took the time to listen to me! I am looking forward to my next appointment at the office.

Went there for a free consultation because my dentist recommend him. Even though my dentist assistant insist that he doesn’t take my insurance but both my insurance doesn’t cover the gum surgery so I should try him out. After finding out that they really don’t take either of my insurance and the bill is too large. I told Dr. Andre assistant that I want a second opinion. His assistant was immediately change their tone and tell me I have to pay them for service which I thought was supposed to be free. Very high pressure sale tactics here. I went to 2 other periodontist and they charge less than this place. The third one that I ended up using not only explain the surgery better, take both of my insurance so the surgery was free and he also did work that Dr. Andre missed.
Few months later I got a threatening letter from Anthem Periodontics that if I don’t pay the bill they would put it in collection agency. I was busy so I call them back a few month later asking why did I have to pay for it. After failing to convince them that it was supposed to be free, I ask them to resend me the bill and I will take care of it. No bill arrive but a letter from collection agency arrive not only did they jack up the original amount but charge me for a collection charge too. Wow! great customer service here!
Do yourself and your wallet a favor and try someone else

Now that I actually went through with my procedure. I can update my review.
I got a gum graft done with Dr. De Andrade. In the weeks before the procedure I tormented myself. Reading everything I possibly could to know more about the subject, even looking at grafting videos. There were some scary articles out there that didn’t put my mind at ease. So I was a bit terrified about my appointment.
The day finally came. I was put at ease as soon as I walked in and the procedure was done and over with much quicker than I anticipated. Both Dr. De Andrade and Sanela, his assistant have a great bedside manner and make you feel really comfortable. Everything was explained to me again in detail before the procedure, and Sanela was very thorough in post-​op instructions. The day after my procedure, Dr. De Andrade gave me a call to follow up and see how I was doing. It’s rare for doctors to do that nowadays. I think it was a nice gesture.
I am now two weeks post-​op. I got the sutures on my palate removed today, which I didn’t feel, thanks to Sanela numbing me with gel. Recovery exceeded my expectations. I only had to take one pain killer a few hours after the graft, the rest, I didn’t need. I do have to say that the worst part of the healing process was not being able to stuff my face with food for two weeks, that to me was torture. Other than that, recovery was swift and painless. I do have to return in 4 weeks to have the rest of the sutures removed, but I am sure it will be another pleasant experience.
Again, his entire staff has always been very friendly, both over the phone, and in person. He has an exemplary office. If only all doctors offices could follow suit, that would be wonderful!
