This review is for the ice cream in the new smaller container. I actually tried contacting the company through their web site today at about 12:15 pm, but the server appears to be down. So, I decided to post my concerns here as a review. I have enjoyed Anderson ice cream since moving to Las Vegas in 2003. It has been a staple of mine for many years. Very well made, delicious and never had any issues with it — until they decided to use a new container. For the first time, I tried the ice cream in the new smaller container. What a disappointment. The new container is terrible. It is cheap and flimsy. I had a hard time getting the lid off for the first time and it literally almost fell apart. Even getting it off the first time — it still seems to want to fall apart for further servings. The ice cream seems to taste different. I initially thought they changed the formulation of the pistachio nut ice cream. But now I’m guessing probably not. I suspect that the new container is so bad at providing insulation and support of the ice cream inside that it melted between the shipping location and the store. That is why it tasted different. I understand that as costs increase, they have to increase the price of the product. That is fine — and quite expected. So, I would ask them to please bring back the old container with the old size and simply charge a little more for it. With this very bad experience with the new container, I’m afraid that they have lost me as a customer forever — at least with this flimsy container. I wonder how many other customers feel the same way. They will regain me as a customer if and I’m hoping when they switch back to the old container.

Excellent company and docent– solid five stars. The film at the free tour explored how the factory evolved throughout history. I liked learning about it a lot. The kids enjoyed free ice cream afterwards. Minus 2 stars for the very rude receptionist in the front desk. She is an African American lady who gave us eye rolling looks for asking for water or ask to use the bathroom while waiting for the tour to start. I have never met a receptionist who is as rude as her. With this kind of attitude, she should be fired. It is sad that her behavior tarnished my experience at the tour.

I recently bought some eggnog and it just didn’t taste right! So I wrote an email to the company letting them know about their product. Their response was fast! I received a phone call this morning from a gentleman, who for the life of me– I can’t remember his name, letting me know that he was going to deliver new eggnog to my house! He was here within the hour of the phone call. Thanks to Anderson Dairy for their customer service:)

This review is specific to the Barnyard Buddies tour. A friend arranged for a group of us to take about a twenty kids and parents on a tour recently and it was a huge hit. Now, they do give away free ice cream at the end so I’m sure that is the reason some people like the tour but my kids loved the main room they used for the tour that was decorated in a farm theme with large scale animated puppets. The kids also like going through the facility and seeing the production lines. Anderson does lots of little«extras» to make the tour cute. As an adult and a Vegas transplant I really enjoyed the historical aspect of the tour. They facility has lots of old photographs explaining Anderson history and various locations in the Valley and then the video shown at the end goes more into the history. The video was a little bit long for my 2&4 year old but not bad. The entire«tour» which included two stops in the main barnyard room and enjoying our ice cream was about 45 minutes so a good length for little kids. We also had teens with us and they enjoyed it as well. It’s free and definitely worth calling to reserve a spot! The website is To schedule call the Tour Host, 702−642−7507, extension 264.

This tour rocks, and it’s FREE! Make sure and call ahead and book a time. The tour was quick, less then an hour with a video about the history and a look through glass windows of some of their packing rooms and freezer room. Every single staff member was inredibly nice and the ice cream is awesome!!! We went to the store that night and bought some… so good!!!

This review is for Anderson Dairy’s «Barnyard Buddies Tour», which is a free and fun tour for kids of all ages! They have a room with animated puppets who tell the story about the dairy, the tour guides walk you down the windowed-hallway, where you can see parts of the plant and the packaging of milk. The best part of the tour is the end, where you get free ice cream! Oh, and the moving/talking puppets and lighting are entertaining, too! This is a great place to take a group of kids!
