The Grove Las Cruces

I enjoy living here! The staff is very approachable and more than willing than to help everyone out no matter what their problems or questions are. The only reason I didn’t put a whole 5 stars would be on the maintenance and up keep of the landscape. Issues with dog owners not picking up after their pets; I noticed that this was addressed and since this has been done I have noticed a difference, however I think it is still an issue. Then the lack of maintenance or not enough maintenance personnel, I don’t like the wait time and have experiences with maintenance issues that were not fixed to my expectations. Overall, I find it more affordable than living on campus with a meal plan and I enjoy my own privacy and bathroom.

Worst apartment ever and let me tell you why.
First, the roommate match up thing they so call use to find you the perfect roommates is bs. I had the worst roommates ever.
Second, the apartments are filthy and there is dog poop all over the grassy areas. This is a huge hazard for college students who walk barefoot to go to the pool. Dog poop believe it or not has bacteria and worms when left out in the sun. That same bacteria can get into the points in your skin and make you sick.
Second, these apartments are extremely loud. If you are a parent looking for your college kid to have a place to stay I would not recommend the grove. I was on the third floor where there were parties every weekend and the smell of weed seeping through the vents. When I arrived the apartment it self was extremely filthy. I will post every single picture I took the through out the time I was there. Keep in mind I cut my lease early and only stayed for three months. This apartment complex was unbearable. I felt that it was unfair that when I had to transfer they mad me professionally clean the room when it was not cleaned for me when I moved in.
PLAESE RECONSIDER IF YOU ARE SERIOUSLY LOOKING AT THESE APARTMENTS. I WANT TO SAVE YOU FROM GOING THROUGH WHAT I DID.

Where to begin…
The Pros:
*Walking distance to NMSU.
*You are only responsible for renting your own room if your roommates don’t pay it doesn’t affect you.
*Fun community activities are planned but not well attended.
*Washer and Dryer in all units.
*Plenty of parking.
The Cons:
*Immediately start an email campaign for your kid to resign a lease.
*Start emails a week early that you need to pay your rent even if you have NEVER paid your rent late.
*If you don’t bring your own friends, they will match you. Not sure how they pick but be prepared for personality conflict.
*Parents must consign lease. Even if the kid lived there for a year no problems.
My kid had a lot of fun living here except her roommates were a bit much. From getting her stuff stolen from impromptu parties and bringing a dog home from Christmas, she just had a lot if drama from her roommates.
Tarin the manager is nice and does a lot to help resolve any problems. But, many of the problems could be resolved by making a good match in the first place.
Our biggest problem started as the move in was happening. The first apartment had a water leak by the water heater and there was quite a bit of mold in the apartment. In addition, that apartment was filthy! It had not been clean at all.
My kid was moved into another apartment with two girls that were a personality conflict. This apartment was also filthy. The manager sent over a carpet cleaner to clean the carpets while we were moving boxes in and trying to get settled.
I know that they only have two weeks to turn the apartments around. They should plan better. There is no reason for the apartments to be at this level of complete disaster.
While we were moving in, the maintenance people came in to paint the bathroom and put in a shower pipe and head!
After they were finally gone, the apartment was ok. Not worth 1275 a month for sure.
If you know one person, get an apartment and buy your own furniture. Save money! If you don’t there are plenty of one bedroom and studio apartments where you will be better off.
