Sonic has been my favorite fast food restaurant for decades… the reason why? Because they have such a diverse menu and they readily accept orders for items not on the menu. They have lots of «add-ons» and several toppings and mixes. They have burgers, hot dogs, salads, tots, fries, jalapeño poppers, burritos… and best of all… fresh green chile! This particular Sonic used to have the best manager. Unfortunately, service has been sketchy ever since she retired. I based my review on service when she was manager, and over a year after she left — because immediately after she left, for several months the service was the most pathetic I have seen in my life. I actually got a burrito once that looked like it had been thrown on the floor and stepped on. The flour tortilla was hard and crunchy. Another time, I had waited OVER20 minutes for a coffee! That’s right,… a simple coffee. And they weren’t busy at all. That having been said, let’s get back to the food. Unlike, say McDonald’s’ pre-fixed, throw it in the microwave breakfast burrito, you get fresh eggs hand rolled in a tortilla, made to order… so you can add bacon, green chile, jalapenos, tater tots… anything you want! Their green chile burgers are some of the best. And their drinks,. don’t get me started… cherry limeade … blue coconut slush… grape cream slush… and when you order a Cherry Coke, you don’t get the bottled branded Cherry Coke, you get a Coke with Cherry syrup added(much much better than the branded flavored Coke). This isn’t fast food, this is food that happens to get to you faster than a sit down, dine in restaurant. In fact, it reminds me of a roadside diner, only with car hops. And for«out-of-towners» outside of the Sonic franchise area, not familiar with Sonic, it is an old-style drive-in restaurant with car hops. Alot of newer or remodeled Sonics also have a drive-through window. Some also have some tables outside as well and you order from an intercom near the table area.
