I couldn’t ask for a more openminded, thoughtful, compassionate, competent doctor. Dr. Rosenfeld has been managing our son’s severe heart disease since he became acutely ill 2 ½ years ago. More than any other doctor I’ve met in my life, Dr. Rosenfeld breaks very complicated things down into plain English and is very open to input from us as parents.
I really feel like he’s been a partner in our son’s care, not the BOSS, in the best possible way. When we decided not to list our son for a heart transplant, he made it clear he totally respected our decision and jumped right in with other medical treatment options. Even when things looked really grim, he remained optimistic, without negating how hard things were.
He’s helped us feel empowered and is very flexible in terms of trying things we want to try and explaining why he thinks different options might be useful or not useful.
He has a great sense of humor, relaxed and kind bedside manner and is very approachable.
We love Dr. Hunkypants, as we call him in our house :-)

My husband and I were first referred to Dr. Rosenfeld when our 2-​year old son was diagnosed with a heart murmur. And then, we increased his case load two years later when our daughter was born and she had a murmur as well.
Fortunately, both of our children had mild problems. My son’s condition eventually corrected itself (well, mostly!) and my daughter had surgury last year to current her condition.
Both my husband and I think that Dr. Rosenfeld is wonderful. He has a terrific way with children. Some of the procedures they go through might scare them (such as an Echocardiogram or EKG), but when it comes letting Dr. Rosenfeld getting to listen to their hearts — they are just fine.
It doesn’t hurt that he also makes the parents feel as if everything is going to be alright. If you are going to have Dr. Rosenfeld — trust me, you child is in good hands.

We take our daughter, who has an ASD, to Dr. Rosenfeld. Our pediatrician had originally referred us to a different pediatric cardiologist, but I had worked in bay area healthcare for a few years and knew that I wanted a cardiologist affiliated with Children’s Hospital Oakland. Dr. Rosenfeld has an amazing reputation in the medical community, and I couldn’t be happier with his care for my daughter. He has a wonderful bedside manner with young children and explained everything in detail to my husband and I. He takes his time, we did not feel rushed in any way. He explained what our options are, and he made us feel so much better about everything. I like that he didn’t make my daughter go through anything that wasn’t necessary. He has daughters of his own, and I truly feel that my daughter is in wonderful hands. His echo tech is great with kids too.

Dr. Rosenfeld is definitely the best doctor I have ever been to! I had open heart surgery twice when I was 11 years old at Children’s Hospital in Oakland, CA. He was my cardiologist while I was there. He was always there for me and was very helpful and very nice. I would still be going to him for checkups if I hadn’t have moved out of state! I highly recommend him!
