The place has lots of press, but is very disappointing. The place is a mess with little organization. None of the plants are labeled or priced. Help seems non-​existent, but when you do find it, they are rushed and condescending. The plants are of questionable quality as well.

This is the absolute best nursery in the Tampa Bay area. If you want an eco-​friendly garden or a bird– and butterfly-​friendly garden, you have to go with native plants — and this nursery has tons of natives in stock. They are also extremely knowledgable and friendly. They can take you around and show you all sorts of cool native plants — for example, the plants you need to attract and keep certain butterflies, plants that produce edible berries (for humans and birds), plants that are good additions to rain gardens, etc. You can also hire them to design and implement your garden or landscape. Jason Beck just did my entire front lawn in natives, and I could not be happier with the results. If you are anywhere in Tampa Bay, it is worth it to drive out to Wilcox.

I absolutely loved this nursery! I showed up early on a Saturday morning– I was asking about plants, and was taken around, shown, explained, etc. The guy who showed me around, Jason, was super knowledgeable. I bought a ton of native plants, which is so hard to find in many nurseries (WHY DON’T MORE CARRY NATIVES!!!) — And I drove so far for them as I had heard/​read they have a lot of natives: and it’s true! They do! :) Very happy!

I found the staff at Wilcox nursery very rude and obnoxious. They are extremely overpriced. I would recommend you never waist your time by going there. We bought a house very close to their location. I was excited to use them for all our gardening needs. Needless to say, I will never go there again. To bad I can’t rate them a zero!

Won’t ever go in there again! The one time I ordered flowers they were delivered to wrong address. I visited the shop once in 2010 and the clerk was condescending.
