Bought the Half Off Depot deal because I have been looking for a salon for awhile with not much luck. I figured it’s hair and it grows… a bad haircut is no fun but easily fixed. Salon 314, I learned later, is under new management. Jacqueline has been there for quite awhile, but now she is the new(and very talented) owner. She is GREAT. My hair hasn’t looked this good since I left NY! She is EXTREMELY adept with those scissors, and I’m going back. All thumbs up!

My hair is naturally very light blonde and I dyed it a dark brown. I went to a rather upscale salon first where they guaranteed they would be able bring me back to blonde. After 2 hair stripping applications, a bleach soap cap, a burning scalp, and 5.5 hours later I left with multicolor hair. Blonde roots, black tips, and an orange/red in the middle. I was extremely upset to say the least and left. Then, I went to Salon 314 and talked to Ronnie. She was absolutely amazing! She was able to get me in right away and fixed it. My hair is now beautiful and looks exactly like it did before I even started coloring it. Other salons priced the color corrective service between $ 150-$ 200+. Another salon(off East Bay and Keene) priced it starting at $ 200 and said it might take up to THREE appointments! Salon 314 was way wayyyyy less expensive and I am beyond thrilled with the result. I’m generally not a very talkative person but Ronnie was personable and I did enjoy my conversations with her. It made the whole process very enjoyable. Salon 314 is not a pretentious salon like many others are. It has a laid back atmosphere where I felt at ease and comfortable throughout the entire process. I will be coming back in the future. Thank you so much, Ronnie.

The salon 314 is run by an owner that has no business sense. He knew what my hair needed, he knew I only had 60 dollars and he didn’t want to help me at all. It was like I was a vagrant or something. He threw an extra charge of 25 dollars on a lady that was checking out when I was coming in. Then the owner charged my girlfriend an extra 5 dollars even though he saw and evaluated her hair when she arrived. She explained she wanted the group on price and he agreed but at the end he said she owed more. I think that is the same as a mechanic telling you it’s one price to fix your car, but when they are done they have hidden charges. My hair dresser was nice but she couldn’t do the toner as my hair turned out almost platinum because 60 dollars wasn’t enough apparently. I left. Not so happy and I want go back!

Probably the worst salon experience I’ve ever had. I got a very«not worthy» feeling for using my Groupon; the owner actually has highlighter yellow hair(which should have been my first«clue» to their hairstyling abilities…) and came up to my stylist while she was doing my hair to pressure her into taking the next appointment earlier(while she would have been finishing my hair) — so unprofessional! …I see some good reviews, so maybe I had the wrong stylist… Rosalie(the lady doing my hair) seemed like she’d never cut or styled women’s hair before(didn’t even blow out my hair with a round brush correctly)! I had to tell her how to place my highlights so they looked«natural» and I’m not even sure she knows how to use a curling iron. «I want Farrah Faucet hair» — it shouldn’t be hard to do big, feathery curls! I told her to cut my hair like the stylist on the end…(in a v-layered shape) and she just barely trimmed it in a straight across style! Meh! What did I expect using Groupon?! 1 star for easy parking.

Just got a hair cut from Jacqueline, great job! My stylist was on time and friendly… she delivered exactly what I asked for. Their shampoo, cut, and blowdry is $ 18. Buzz cut for men is $ 8(my fiancé will be coming with me in the future) Parking is free right up front or there’s a private lot in the back. It is so scary to try someone new to do your hair(or nails, teeth) I guess I’m a lucky duck. A little gem like this will keep me coming back for more!

Don’t buy the Groupons they offer! Save your $$$$!!! Groupon: SHAMPOO, HAIRCUT, DEEP-CONDITIONINGTREATMENT, ANDBLOW-DRY My experience started when I called to book my appointment. I called but the salon was not open yet. I did not leave a message but somehow the salon owner found my number and felt the need to call me back to find out what my call was about. I find this technique to be unprofessional and my first sign that he is desperate for business. When I arrived at the salon I discovered that there isn’t any paved parking. I had to park my car in a dirt lot next to the strip mall where the salon is located. My first impression of the salon was that it was old, dated and dirty. The hairbrushes were caked on with other clients hair, wallpaper looks like it started to be stripped but never finished. Mirrors were dirty, signs saying«Ask me my favorite product» on hot pink paper and hung up with scotch tape were on every mirror. So tacky. The owner is a heavyset young guy who did not look professional. He was in shorts sneakers and a baggy T-shirt. But he was nice enough. My hairdresser’s name was Bonnie. I think she’s somewhere in her late 50s early 60s with enough cleavage hanging out of her shirt to be gross and inappropriate. She did not go into any detail about what she was doing to my hair. When I tried to explain to her what I was looking for, she cut me off and assumed I was just looking for a trim. At that point I was fine with a trim because I lost all trust and figured a trim would be sufficient. When she put in their«deep conditioning treatment» she didn’t tell me anything about it. She did not engage me into any kind of conversation, instead I had to hear her life story about her 23 yr. old son who is a vegan, didn’t do well in school and never calls her. I also know how her friends are doing so much better than her and that she’s still«just a hairdresser» CLIENTSARENOTTHERAPIST! The last thing I want to do while I am a new customer and paying for a service is to hear about your problems! Again, UNPROFESSIONAL. I could of had an ok appointment up to this point, but towards the end of it, I had indicated that I have other appointments during the day. It was 12:00 in the afternoon and Bonnie dries my hair to the point where my hair is leaving wet marks all over my blouse. I understand their concept of «it’s part of the deep conditioning process,» but to have me leave a salon with wet hair and a wet blouse is unacceptable to me. I asked Bonnie about it and she said«that’s what the Groupon is for.» I still tipped the woman $ 5.00 on a $ 13.00 hair cut and walked out. The OWNERTHANFOLLOWEDMEOUTTHEDOOR to my car and said that he could ask Bonnie to blow dry the hair more«at no extra cost to me.» He also felt it appropriate to say that«If I had misinterpreted or didn’t understand the Groupon» than he apologizes for that. I understand leaving the hair damp, but what professional salon has you walk out with your shirt and hair wet?! Again, my Groupon headline was good for: «SHAMPOO, HAIRCUT, DEEP-CONDITIONINGTREATMENT, ANDBLOW-DRY» With these kinds of attitudes and less than adequate atmosphere, I don’t think this place will last much longer, but if you are considering going to this salon, do yourself a favor and NEVEREVERGOTHERE!!!
