This place was GREAT! My waiter, Benjamin was wonderful, informative and friendly! The food, was fabulous! It was the best Mexican food I have had, short of eating at some ones moma’s house! I made myself save some so I could eat some later! Go here! O yea, that frozen margarita is good and strong but ain’t cheap! It’s worth it! If you are visiting Laredo, you should go to this place!

Slow service, pit good got cold as the waiter brought the food, minutes later the plates, another while later the tortillas, etc. Friendly, no doubt, but we couldn’t enjoy our dinner.

I have been here three times. Excellent food and service each time! Will continue to eat here until I leave town! Sitting in bar great atmosphere with all the sports channels you can watch and awesome cold drinks. I highly recommend!!!

This place sucks. We waited about 45 minutes to get our food and when it came out half the order was wrong. It took 15 more min to bring the correct food out. Server was not nice at all. We ordered a frozen margarita and it came back watered down. Instead of making the drink right they did nothing to correct. Their dr. Pepper machine wasn’t working and the only drink they had available is sprite and orange soda. Never again will I go to this place! No sense of urgency.

I love this place! The décor gives it a hacienda feel. The service is great. I love the Tiroz Huahuache and jamaica. I have been there plenty of times, and I can’t wait to go back!

I just came from this place and I’m sorry but I’ve had better Mexican food then this plus servers weren’t really paying attention we waited almost 30mins before refills of water and soda came. Food was tender but lacks in flavor. This place just didn’t do it for me.

Upon entering you will seem to be transported in time to «Old Mexico» with the interior of the restaurant replicated to portray a town square with a fully functioning well in the middle of the restaurant. From a business stand point this well did not make sense since it takes up too much space which could have easily accommodated 4 – 5 tables increasing revenues. Our family was a party of 5 and had to wait about 15 minutes before a table was unoccupied and cleaned. I witnessed a large family wait for about 45 min to be seated due to the limited space, and were actually seated in larger area reserved for«parties,» which the waiters should have done since their arrival because I would have left and other larger parties did. The menu items are very limited as other reviews have commented and pricey as compared to other restaurants of the same concept. What we did like and recommend is a margarita called a «Mariangonada» which is a slush margarita made of mangos, a bit of powdered chile, and Ornitos tequila. Overall, this restaurant is ‘Meh’ as I rated due to the limited, pricey menu and waiting period.

Went to Maria Bonita, had the taco alambra plate, average. My wife had the sirloin steak, ordered medium rare, came spot on and was very tender. Service a little slow. Went back two days later and ordered the sirloin steak, rare and surprise got it rare and very tender for bring a sirloin. Service was better, as our server was on top of it. If you go, order the 10oz sirloin.

On first visit, service was subpar, food was very bland. Swore that I would not return to this place again. Decided to give it a second chance. Our hostess sat us at a table that hadn’t been cleaned yet even though there were other ready to sit tables available. I didn’t understand her logic. She then proceeded to clean our table with a damp cloth that was dirty since I could smell it because she swept off the table with it after we had already been seated. This second visit I didn’t even get to try the food because service was so bad, our server never came back to take our order despite the fact that he was always around the tables around mine. Horrible place.

My wife and I went a day before Mother’s Day, and we were presented with a limited menu that had 9 entrée items. When asked for a normal menu, were told it was unavailable this particular weekend. We were started with the typical chips and salsa, although both were lackluster. The chips were from a bag, which is atypical of a Laredo Mexican restaurant, and the salsa was a bowl of canned refried beans and salsa roja. We ordered a chicken fajita plate, and enchiladas nortenas. Both were bland, as the chicken fajita was made with a frozen chicken fajita with the fake grill marks, probably a bagged product from Sysco or some other food supply vendor, as was the carne asada in the enchiladas. Rice and beans were also bland. All in all, it was a disappointing dining experience, and we will not return. Sad to say that, as the interior décor is nice, and the service isn’t too bad, by Laredo standards. Quite frankly, I’m surprised that this place still has clientele, given the amount of choice one has when it comes to Mexican food in this city.

The service and food here exceeded most restaurants in Laredo, which generally is lacking in any kind of service and good food. My family of four ate here during dinner. I can’t say exactly what the others ordered, but all 3 really enjoyed their meals. I ordered the stuffed pepper and it was super flavorful and yummy. Our waiter was very attentive the entire time, he was pleasant and spoke to us in English which is our first language, so that was pleasant. The décor is very cute and reminded us of the World Showcase at Epcot. It was a nice change from the other restaurants around town.

Just got back from a business trip in Laredo and was taken to Maria Bonita for lunch. Service was actually quite good. I ordered the Tiroz Huahuache which is a burrito. It was very tasty. Once half had chorizo which was nice and spicy with a slow burn. The other side had white cheese and was tasty. The filling was asada with avocado. The asada meat was tender and nicely flavored. We also ordered guacamole to start. It was chunky and served with toasted slices of tortillas called banderas. Our server was attentive and made sure our glasses were always filled.

Arrived at 11AM for lunch. I was seated shortly and greeted by my waiter within minutes. I ordered at 11:10 and waited and waited. The waiter was nice enough to bring me another small bowl of factory produced chips and salsa. The jury is still out on the salsa as it was just so-so. Okay now it’s 11:55 and my order is still not in front of me. So I asked the waiter what was the hold up and he just looked down trying not to give eye contact. So with that I told him to prepare the kabob and sides to go as I was going to be late for a 12:30 meeting and had to leave. I should have just gotten up and left without the plate. It was now 12:25 and my plate/order was finally put in front of me. Surely to late for my meeting but left anyway to try and make it. I had a 20 min drive to get there so I missed a lot of information that was presented. By now I’m starving so I started to eat out of the takeout plate. I had ordered med well cooked meat and had undercook/rare meat. As said in other review here it’s ok but really not worth the LONG wait. Should have left and eaten somewhere else. Anyways not recommended at all. Even if you do have the time the food is just so so.

Cute décor, mediocre food. This was our first time here and I was extremely disappointed. We started off with the chiles toreados and homemade tortillas, the best items tonight other than the beer. Then their chicharron soup proved to be a bowl of melted American cheese, breaking of course, with a miniscule sprinkling of pork skins from a bag. The mushroom appetizer was bland and watery… I have no idea why the«chef» approved to have these named after him. The final straw was the arrival of the Tapado tacos with chicken clearly from a bag of frozen chicken fajitas with fake grill marks on them. Disgusting! They should not try to pass off this mediocre fare as authentic Mexican recipes. They should be ashamed of duping their ignorant customers who should know better! If I could give negative stars as a rating I surely would!
