Service slow. We were a group of 11. The chicken parmagian was over cooked. The other meals in group seemed to be enjoyed. Bread is delicious!

Good basic Italian food. Yes, it’s a chain. Thus the food is consistently good. Service is good, even on a busy Friday night. Happy hour is user friendly. It’s loud. The calamari is cooked correctly and the lasagna is tasty. Tira misu is good too.

We went to lunch hours and it was too busy. Our waiter kinda rush, spills, forgets when we need something, and he sweat horrible. We kinda block that issue but we were hungry as heck. The foods we got are outstanding.

I come here often when in town. Usually so long as you come after 5pm, the food is ok. Not restaurant quality but ok. Tonight with it being MLK day, the crowd is dense. I guess, a day home from school or possible day off from work means eating out instead of cooking for yourself and your family. Anyway, i get a simple order of eggplant parm with penne and they decided I should have wheat pasta… Gross. So i send it back and in return I get a new REVENGE plate of COLDSOGGY food, the pasta was surprisingly aldente on this plate, but it was the sad eggplant that was cold, mushy, and soggy with the fry coating slipping off. Not planning to patronize this particular Johnny Carino’s again. They honestly should just go out of business and replace it with the Laredo norm of random Mexican food, be it mom/pop or fast food.

I visit the Laredo Carino’s when I’m in the area for business. My favorite dish is the Rosemary Chicken, but I modify it & order it with bow tie pasta instead of angel hair pasta. I’ve had consistent food & service in every visit. I also like the Carino’s Pasta Points program that rewards loyal customers. Carino’s is my fist choice in the Italian Restaurant chain category.

Alright, I’m an out of state person, and haven’t been here over six years. Giving them five stars because it was /way/more than I expected to be before coming here. I read some reviews here on Unilocal and noticed that not many people use Unilocal here like they do in SoCal.(Oh yeah, we Cali use Unilocal every day) A upon reading some reviews about this place, I wanted to give it a try. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G Got in the door, was greeted by the hostess, and asked how many for the party and it was really pack for Wednesday. But it wasn’t a problem for a table for two, they even get me an estimated time which was 15 – 20 minutes; we got seated in less than 10 minutes. Fasted sitting I’ve ever been in a long time. Now the waiter was friendly, he gave us the menu and also gave us some time to decided on drinks. He even ask«Have you been here before?» And of course, I said no and he recommend me some drinks and appetizer.(I’ll give him the best waiter award because to me he seem to be well trained by the company, and to that thank you for doing it right) Alright, you get where I’m going now and this isn’t some sort of sugar coating the place. Sure, there are times it’s bad or whatever. Takes for ever to order blah blah, but think about it. The food and the atmosphere is great, I got the 16 layer lasagna, the Italian Nachos(which I highly recommend) and a bottle of wine(which I think are half off on Wednesday) Love this place, clean and fast. Will be coming back for sure.

Never again! My wife and I stopped here for a taste of Italian and it was insipid. In their defense, the Italian Wedge Salad was terrific: Crisp lettuce; great bacon; lots of bleu cheese. I’d order that again. But the entrees were absolutely horrible. I had the pizza and, for $ 11, it fell short of my expectations for even«airport food» pizza. The crust was doughy and undercooked and flour-y. The toppings were scarce. Microwave French Bread pizza is more satisfying. My dinner partner ordered penne pasta with spicy marinara. She received bow-tie pasta with the spicy marinara. The portion was large, and the marinara was, indeed, spicy. But the dish was cool and the pasta was overcooked. Add to that the ambience; loud, echo-y, TVs all over the walls. Not a pleasant place to be. Next time we get the craving for Italian we may call Papa John’s as an improvement over Johnny Carino’s. PS: Shout out to our server: Abraham, you rock!

Had the Chicken Florentine 2 more times after my first review… both were horrible! Looked like soup and tasted nasty. They must have used the dirty dish water. Yuck. U was such a fan:(
