I have a severe fish/seafood allergy but love thai food. Everywhere I eat, either let’s me know to avoid a dish if the sauce is pre-cooked or just omits the fish sauce. I ordered take out here, and it was pretty expensive to begin with for Thai, and I was told first that all dishes are made to order, BUT to accommodate my fish allergy they would charge me $ 1.00 to each dish to OMIT the fish sauce. I find it crazy that I’m paying to not have something put in my food that could kill me… The curry was just ok but the attitude of this place really bothered me…

Definitely good thai food if you’re into Thai. Very pricey :)

Don’t be fooled, overpriced and serving portions are way too inadequate. The owner is rude and not very friendly to her customers. Surprised how this place has stayed open. DONOTPATRONIZE!!!

Love this restaurant. Is quite small but has a few outdoor chairs as well in the warmer months. The tiger cries are amazing and we have enjoyed every curry we have eaten there. Find it also better than most Thai restaurants I’ve eaten in the city. A great local find.

Great Thai food. We are so happy they are around. Two favorite dishes are Panang Curry, Pad Se Eww. Wish they had a bigger space, so we usually get take out. It is a bit pricey, but always reliably good. We order from there quite a bit.

Hands down my favorite Thai restaurant. I can confidently say this is the real deal, and Larchmont is lucky to have such a gem. My husband and I travelled to Thailand and fell in love with the food, and now we get to relive that feeling by walking just a few minutes. Of course, pad Thai is a safe choice, but definitely try the Mee Kati.

This gem of a place kept us enthralled with spicy deliciousness. We loved the mussels appetizer and lamb puffs. Our curry dishes were perfectly cooked. The staff was über friendly and knew the menu as if they themselves had cooked it. How could we not have ordered the coconut mousse and fruit? «Good for digestion,» they promised.

Such authentic, flavorful, beautiful dishes that are clearly prepared by someone who has a passion for what they do! The restaurant isn’t very big but a comfortable place none the less. The cocktails were delightful as well as the staff! I have to say, I don’t know what was better, the food or the staff! The young gentlemen who worked there were so friendly, enthusiastic about the menu and just a pleasure! They are natives of Thailand and seemed to be so happy working for the restaurant and claimed to really enjoy eating the food here! This place is a winner in my book! My favorite dishes were the shrimp raviol and the drunken noodles!

Really good Thai. Not your average Americanized Thai. It is fancified, unique, different, modern. But not average. And I will admit Probobly not ‘authentic’. For instance the hot peppers they use in the drunken noodles(great, and spicy, btw) are the kind you find grilled and topping a wedge in local Italian delis: the ‘long hot’. Also a Favorite of mine btw. It’s super flavorful, and really high quality ingredients. Interesting and really good. Pricey too, but it’s not a quick take out fill your belly meal. It’s very pleasurable. Eat in; the rice cake and hot pepper jam are, well, the jam. Papaya salad is a favorite Thai dish of mine and theirs is tasty and delicious. Pad Thai and drunken noodles are great. And they have some special entrees as well. Have liked them all. Enjoy!

Friendly but to my surprise… I was just there for lunch with husband and baby and as soon as we came in they said, «sorry we don’t have high chairs!!!» Maybe I’m clueless about restaurants not accommodating for families with infants but I won’t be going back!

First i’d like to state that my «bar» for thai food is high, having been to Thailand. This place does have fresh food, its clean and cozy… but dont think for a second thats its authentic… ITSNOTINTHELEAST. For one the lamb shank on the menu? Lamb? there are no lambs in Thailand. NONE…so why would this place have it on there menu.simple.to appease the local populace… Sad. very sad… why not be true to your cuisine? instead they choose to replace the PORK shank with lamb because probably a lot of local clients dont eat pork. ok thats my rant, Besides all this insipid curries. watery sauces… small portions. if I could give it NO stars i would. stay away.

Amazing! Been a regular for 3 years, never disappointed! Service is warm and attentive. Even take out is packaged perfectly! Do not miss her Specialty/Home Cooking Section especially, Lamb Shank and Crispy Pork Belly with roasted Chilies! I cannot say enough great things about Durian!

The food was excellent and service was exceptional. Although, a bit on the pricier side, I would recommend this spot to anyone looking for a good and unique Thai dining experience. 5 stars all the way.

I discovered this place sometime last year. I have gone with friends and family. I always enjoyed the red curry. I’ve tried the drunken noodles and they’re also good. my last trip there was yesterday. Food was good but service left something to be desired. We came to celebrate my father’s birthday. We ate. The food was good. The tablets $ 250 we brought a cake. Do you wanted to dollars per slice to cut the cake. I thought this was not reasonable in light of how much we were paying and the 20% gratuity that was included. Will strongly reconsider before going back there ever again.

The food is pretty good, but, with the new menu that just was adopted the prices are sky high, especially for meals that consist largely of noodles.

The key to understanding the Durian is that it is of much higher quality than the usual suburban industrial Thai take-out, that it costs more, and that it is certainly worth the extra outlay. It’s too bad the Durian does not deliver. The place is small, which makes it intimate. Along with eight tables, they manage to squeeze in a small well-stocked bar. Count on the finest quality Thai cuisine, and not just the generic red and green curry(although they do, of course, have an excellent Pad Thai). I have worked through all three of the duck dishes on my several visits: Paalo, with a soy and shitake mushroom sauce; Kratium, with a garlic sauce; Panang(my choice), with a spicy pepper sauce. I’m on to seafood next time. An early lunch is your best walk-in bet. Reservations lubricate the dinner process. Leave time for street parking.

It’s been a struggle finding great Thai food in Westchester, but Durian proved to be better than the rest. First of all, this is a TINY restaurant. Plan on waiting if you come at peak times on the weekend. FYI they don’t take reservations and they don’t take your name once you get there. We ended up waiting at the small bar for about 30 min on a Saturday night. The food was pretty good. I’ve been to Thailand and have taken cooking classes there, so I’m a bit spoiled. But the red curry was spicy and flavorful and had tons of tofu. I wish some of the tofu had been replaced with some other veggies, it would have made a more balanced curry. The rice that came with this was very good. My husband had the drunken noodles which was also pretty good with a nice mix of tofu and veggies. The papaya salad was very good and the juice from the lime added an extra zing. We both asked for our dishes to be a #1 level spicy, because they warned us that a #2 level of spiciness was pretty hot. The only disappointment was the dessert. The mango sticky rice was not as good as what I’ve had in Thailand. The rice was a little too mushy, and a little more coconut milk would have made it better. The mangos however were delicious. We are both vegetarian and asked for our entrees without fish or oyster sauce. The kitchen was accommodating, I just hope they truly didn’t put any in our dishes!

For Thai food in this area there really isn’t much of an option. So when I saw it at first I was just praying that it was good. My wife and I went there the other night and got a table right away, there were only 2 left. Upon ordering she asked the waiter if there was any fish sauce in the curries, there was. So she opted to have some noodles and asked to make it spicy — which he refused to do, because it’s not«traditional» anyway, so he brought out some fresh chopped chili(huge plus points!). I ordered the Kra Prow beef — which was really pretty good! The wine selection by the glass is also well thought out and really went well with the food. I will surely take it up with the owner to have an option of no fish sauce in the curries so my wife and I can frequent it. For all those who take the train to Larchmont, it’s worth stopping by to try it, or at the least have some apps and wine at the bar!
