I come here regularly for some excellent sandwiches, the staff is always nice and courteous.
Sometimes it is hard to find if they are open, so call ahead.

Everything of theirs tastes incredible! Everything is homemade. Why go spend $ 22 on lunch for two at Jimmy Johns when you can go down the road to this place and spend $ 15 on lunch for two and get that homemade taste plus a side, soup and a pickle! Cant pass it up now a days.

Excellent food so far, admittedly I’ve only had their chicken salad meal but it was enough to keep me returning.

Had lunch at the Indiana Deli today. Started with some hot chicken noodle soup, Jose had some sandwich (don’t remember the name), and I had a turkey sandwich. Both very good, so we ordered some to take home and a grilled cheese for our son. It was our first time there and we’ll definitely return soon. I don’t like to be rushed and they left me alone :)
They also ran out of chips while we were there, so she included some pasta salads, brownies, and peanut butter cookies instead!

We used Indiana Deli and Catering for my son’s wedding recently and was very satisfied with the food and the staff. Our guests raved about the wonderful appetizers, especially the meatballs. Nancy helped us pick from the large catering menu and the food was delicious. Everything was set up perfectly, the staff cleaned up after the meal and the leftovers were boxed up for us. We did not have any problems with the final payment, or anything else. Thanks!

I don’t know about the catering side of it but this place has some of the best sandwiches in town. Everything is fresh, I get a kick out of trying something new each time we come to the deli. They have so many unique sandwiches in a time where every restaurant seems to have the same thing. My coworkers rave about the soups and salads but I am still working through the sandwich menu. Today i had the Belle Gunness sandwich and fruit. Service has always been good. I have only two complaints, plastic chairs and short hours. If they were open longer I would be picking up dinner on the way home.

I have one piece of advice for anyone considering this business for catering services — get a contract; an iron clad, no room for error contract. The owner of this establishment will have you sign a quote; she will then assure you that she will mail or email you a contract which will never come. If you are foolish enough not to write your own contract and insist on signatures well before your event, you just may end up in our predicament.
Four days before catering our wedding, the rate was increased by about $ 1,000. When questioned, the owner assured me that she would produce the signed quote, which she insisted was written at the increased rate, despite the fact that I had two independent witnesses who could confirm the quote at the lower rate. Needless to say, the signed quote could not be produced.
On the night of the wedding, a check was written to Indiana Deli at the agreed-​upon rate, at which point a staff member approached me, causing a scene in front of my guests. I asked her to go back to the restaurant and return with a copy of the signed quote as discussed; she returned with a piece of paper that had no signatures and had clearly been hand-​written upon her return to the deli. I wrote the check for the increased amount and then promptly canceled payment the following day noting the following: 1) the amount charged did not match the agreed-​upon rate; 2) the staff left food out to rot overnight despite our agreement that leftovers would be boxed and refrigerated; 3) my bartenders had to bus tables; 4) the quote produced the night of the event was fraudulent.
Before I even had the opportunity to send the revised check with letter of explanation, the harassment began. The establishment owner has written libelous comments on my public websites and made several threatening calls including one in which she announced: ‘Don’t f#@* with me’. I would not recommend doing business with Indiana Deli under any circumstances, but if you do, buyer beware.

We hired Indiana Deli to cater our wedding, as they were recommended by the reception venue’s management. The food itself was on par for the price. However the disappointment began when the Owner overcharged us beyond the agreed upon price point, but had mysteriously lost the signed contract. She then made quite the scene at the wedding when we refused to pay the inflated amount, then stormed out, left the food to spoil overnight, and neglected cleanup. Fortunately other vendors were generous and finished Indiana Deli’s job.
The reception venue owner was equally disappointed, who admonished the owner the next morning for her behavior. Indiana Deli was the only vendor who under-​delivered that weekend.
Good lesson for small business here — «Piggy’s get slaughtered». And while Im sure its a fine place for a ham sandwich, greed is a terrible long-​term strategy, and its a lesson Indian Deli could stand to learn. Buyer beware.

We were at Indiana Deli yesterday for lunch. It was our first time. Everyone’s meal was out of this world. I do not live in LaPorte, but I would kill to have this Deli near my house!!! All three of us raved about our food and soup!!! Absolutely out of this world!!! No, I do not work for the deli, nor am I associated with anyone who works there. I just really feel that this is a gem of a place, and right now it’s sort of like a hidden secret!!! The food was so fresh and good. Honestly, I cannot compare it to anywhere else!!!

Honestly, really enjoyable. I get lunch somewhat regularly and I think very highly of the food. Service is typically very good and if you like pesto you’ll be in good company — try the Honest Abe. President Lincoln can’t be wrong — it’s awesome. The only reason this is four stars is every other time I order for pick up, I get to my destination, open my bag… and surprise, not what I ordered. Lucky for me everything they make is awesome, so I’ve never complained.
