Went because we wanted to eat and listen to live music… doesn’t get better than that on a Friday night, right? Well, I will never love long enough to understand why this restaurant gets the hype it has! Musical performance was reaally wonderful-​a gentleman and 2 young girls… not only were they adorable, but they were really good! As for the restaurant: Service was mediocure at best, staff was not attentive to the simplest detail as keeping a water glass with water! Food was okay at best… wont be back… there are simply too many othet excellent restaurants in the area!

Sorry really wanted to like the place, the location is convenient. Arrived for lunch for 2, basically empty restaurant 1 other table, 1 waitress and 1 staff member behind the counter. The waitress is extremely nice and friendly otherwise we would have left. Prices seemed a little high on appetizers so we ordered a salad and a pizza special. Pizza special very reasonable 2 slices and drink $ 6.95. Unfortunately the pizza was extremely salty. (Thank god for the drink!) Salad was big and beautiful looking but served without any dressing! Asked for blue cheese received 2 tiny takeout plastic tubs with a mayonnaise tasting blue cheese. Asked for bread to eat with salad, they don’t bake bread during the day it would be an extra charge. Ok we will pay its been 30 mins and it hasn’t arrived I assume it’s not coming? There are 5 other tables here now for a total of 7 so waitress is now MIA… Damn it man!

Ordered an overpriced White pizza, with tomatoes, spinach and basil. They actually charged $ 2 for basil as a topping! It was so greasy it left a slick in the box and on the plates. Ricotta tasted like it was one day from turning. Meh, way too much money — $ 24 and change for a 16″ pie that was mediocre at best.

After a huge brunch we were not very hungry for dinner but we knew we had to eat something. So, we settled on Manalapan Pizza «Basils». We did not want to travel very far and this place is right up the road from our abode. I have been here several times; this was Drew’s first time. Since it was hot and muggy, we decided to sit inside near the window… where we could see a nice crowd of people dining and listening to the good live music… the guy on Sax was excellent. It seems Sunday’s is «Ladies Night», so the «Lady» needs to place the order to get the deal… cute. We started off with some wine, while looking over the menu. We settled on: the eggplant, the portabella mushroom, the seared scallops and the «Hot Oil Pizza». Everything was really tasty. The only downside was that all of our dishes came out at the same time. This was not a big deal. That said… the service was good. We are looking forward to going back for some more tasty Italian food.

People notice the high quality of the food here, and the staffers are all, without exception that I could see, terrific. I loved my meal and the amazingly good happy-​hour price for such great food.

I should say that the food was really delicious. The pizza was nice, thin layer crispy with fresh tomatoes and mozzarella. The veal parmigiana was really soft and tender and the chicken Francese was tender and delicious as well. Our server was Matt who was extremely helpful and nice. His service was excellent.
I will give this place and their service a 5 star!

Not impressed with any aspect. Salad dressing so thick it doesn’t pour, portobello app was tasteless and the chicken dinner was barely warm. Waitress complained about the chef every time she came to the table and left in the middle of service to make a delivery! Although her back ups provided much better service than she did! Will not go back!

Ordered delivery from here the other night and was extremely impressed with the quality of the food! And the fast delivery… The eggplant parmigiana was awesome and so were the garlic rolls! I will def be ordering more from this place! Only thing that was a bit bland was the Pasta fagioli… Everything else was great!

My daughter and I had an incredible meal at Manalapan during our Christmas holiday. Our food was outstanding — love the eggplant! Atmosphere was casual, enjoyed the music. Service was great. Much more than a «pizza place!» Looking forward to dining here again!

OMG! This is the best! We had dinner here 2 nights in a row. The Beggar’s Purse is heavenly, served w the house salad and wonderfully garlicy rolls. Then the Chicken Piccata the 2nd night was the perfect combo of butter, lemon and capers. Wishing I lived nearby to eat here more often. Delicious.

We went to this restaurant for the first time tonight, and probably the last!
First the only reason they get one star is for the servers, who work their asses off.
They had a «new «pizza maker, but after reading prior reviews this has happened a few times recently. The pizza came out with actual holes, and so thin, in other places that you could only get a half of slice,
Earl, the guy that runs the place wanted us to pay for this so-​call pizza and come back to get a free one, you mean pay for crap, and get crap later on?
Earl did this through the server and wouldn’t come over himself. How. Can you run an establishment, have a chef screw up, and not come over to apologize, he steered at our table through the kitchen but no balls to come out. the people who work there deserve better mgmt to back them.

We were staying at the EAU and looking for a nice relaxing dinner for our first night in town. Based on a recommendation at the hotel we walked over, expecting a good pizza joint. This place is way more than a great pizza place. My wife had an amazing seafood dish and I of course had the pizza. The staff is very friendly and the service is top notch. The outside café was a nice place to enjoy a great meal with a great bottle of wine
Don’t miss he deserts, really amazing. Prices are great for what we got that night. Definitely plan one night here.

Apparently a new chef. Excellent food. They offer gluten free pasta and gluten free pizza! I had gluten free pamadoro, it was an excellent cream sauce. Hubby had fra diablo, a spicy red sauce with scallops and calamari.

Have eaten at a thousand restaurants but I can honestly say I have never had better Italian food… let me recommend the shrimp, mussels, calamari, clams, sauteed with red or white sauce… OMG. the best I ever had… meet Earl owner and a former baseball player in the Cards organization, a great host.

This place is amazing. The food is quality italian with large portions. The wine list is also very high quality. The indoor area is beautiful but the outdoor patio has great ambiance. Casual yet nice for a special occasion.
