Red Roof Inns

I stayed at this hotel from Sunday March 29^th to Monday early morning the 30^th. The morning of the 30^th I was itching my arm all day at work and noticed giant welts on my arm. They appear to be spider/​bug bites. I contacted Expedia the next day regarding my bug bites and asked for them to notify the hotel and that I would also like to be compensated for the lack of cleanliness of the hotel. The hotel has rejected my request for compensation. I hope they have at least checked the bed and room for future guests. The picture attached is taken on April 4^th after the bites have reduced slightly in swelling. I will not be staying at a Red Roof again after this experience.

If your looking for a cheap place to stay this place was the one that was cheap but looks nice.
The pictures don’t tell the whole story. The place looks like they invested money into a place that has customers that are constantly breaking things.

The door lock was damaged and looked as if at one time it was kicked in.
Bed and pillows left my back aching.
Lights require me to hit a timer button across the room to turn on the light in the bathroom or above the bed.

Love this place. Best place in Lansing, I love the staff. Makes you feel like family. Rooms are new and clean!

I was thrilled to arrive here as a stop over on my way to Canada. I was so happy to see that the room looked neat and clean. The staff was accommodating and warm, both on arrival and check out. I left in a very happy mood. Unfortunately as I got in the car I realized I had three small bug bites on my wrist. I thought nothing of it. An hour later on the road I look down to see my legs and ankles COVERED with itchy red bumps. Do bare in mind I STILL have not reached my destination at this point and this hotel was the only place I had been other than in my own BRAND NEW car. How thrilled I was when I reached my destination to find my suitcase infested. This is the first and last time I will stay at a red roof inn, and believe me I will always check for bed bugs no matter how clean the room looks.

You will not get a good night’s sleep here. Staff was nice, but nice doesn’t make me sleep. Constant door slamming and traffic all night long– especially the weekend.
I will never stay at a red roof again– This place is for f*ckn, not truckn.

The lady at check in was indifferent.
I was only here for one short night. But when I got into bed I notice some scraps of tobacco on the sheets. I was too tired to complain so I used the other bed.
There is no ironing board or iron in the room.
The old gent at check out was kind.
Not much else to say.

Just stayed here last night (a Wednesday), it was better than excepted! Room was great, I stayed in the all inclusive king room. Front desk staff was helpful (my questions seemed to relieve them of their boredom!). For a fairly cheap motel, this was a very comfortable place in a very convenient location (there’s everything you need along Saginaw Hwy! The mall, numerous food options, banks, coffee!). Check in was at 1 and check out was at 12, very convenient!
Only downside was the room initially smelled strongly of old smoke, but that quickly disappeared a few hours later when we came back from dinner. Also, the pillows we had were the most comfortable pillows I have ever slept on… I wanted to steal some! I would definitely come back if I was in the area again.
