I’d give this place very mixed reviews and definitely not what I expected from a Radisson. The group rate was fair for what seemed like a nicer hotel. We came here for a family member’s wedding. We checked in and the front desk staff were very nice. When we got to our room, the toilet seat had something hardened on it. We washed it off rather than call housekeeping as we were in a hurry. Also, do not expect early check in. They are not nice about it. And there are crumbs of something all over the floor in the bathroom. I’m in the bed now and hoping it’s clean. I won’t be back and I wish I had done more research before booking here.

Great lunch buffet at a great price. The food was all very fresh and delicious. The salad portion of the buffet has mixed greens, fresh veggies, grilled chicken, and all the toppings. They offered hot and cold sandwich’s, bacon Mac and cheese, bruschetta and a few other options. Oh, it also came with a drink, all under 10 $. Derek provided excellent, professional service which complimented my experience.

My family stayed at this hotel for a HUGE sporting event(tournament) this past weekend. They were not even close to being appropriately staffed for the quantity of guests. To name a few issues — we had to wait 20 minutes to check in — every time we needed our car, it took at least 30 minutes for a valet to bring it… in the mornings, when families needed to leave the hotel to get to their tournament sites, the lobby was full(I mean, FULL) of angry people waiting for their cars(I only saw 2 valets the entire time and even heard one cuss at another one… tensions were very high) — We ate dinner Friday night at the(overpriced) restaurant but had to get our own drinks from the bar every time we needed a refill… not once did a waitress come to our table(there aren’t many restaurants nearby so you are almost forced to eat there if you have time constraints) — Our room was never cleaned and we had to get new towels from the front desk. I don’t blame the employees, I blame the management for not anticipating the high volume of guests and staffing their hotel appropriately. The actual hotel was nice, but good luck getting anyone to attend to you… on any level. Perhaps I would have a better experience if I stayed there on a Tuesday night, but I don’t think I’ll try it.

This is the exact reason I try not to eat at hotel restaurants. The Capitol Grill at the Radisson caters to a captivated audience. The prices are high for sub par food and service. I ordered the Walleye per recommendation from the bartender. It was accompanied by broccoli, rice, and a side salad. Bland tasting is an understatement. I would find it hard to believe that the cooks even used salt and pepper let alone any other spices. The bartender was doubling as a server and was the only employee working. I understand it was a Monday but I went in at 6:45pm. The service was lacking but only because he was working my table along with a half dozen others and a party. The only reason I gave two stars is because the meal was partially comped since the hotel forgot to pick us up from the airport. In no way does this place live up to the Radisson brand name.

There are some serious pros and some serious cons with this place. Pros: –Attached via skywalk to the Lansing Center(which is amazing and so convenient when attending a conference!) –Decent pricing when staying in a group block(which would be every time I stay here, since it’s always for a conference) –Standard rooms; nothing that stands out in either a good or bad way(ok, this isn’t exactly a pro, but it’s not a con either) –Sleep number beds! –There is a Starbucks right in the lobby, and also a restaurant(which I didn’t go to, so no comment there) –Front desk staff were super helpful and friendly –Free wifi –Pool(didn’t go to it, so no comments there either) Cons –Parking is ridiculously expensive considering that you’re only in Lansing… there is no reason to need to pay extra at all in this city –No free breakfast. Maybe some people don’t care about this, but it’s a huge drawback in my book –The Starbucks in the lobby doesn’t accept Starbucks cards(how does that even make sense?) –Rooms are way too expensive when not booking with a group rate; I feel like this hotel thinks it’s a lot fancier and nicer than it really is. Time to price things like the standard, no-frills hotel you really are…

I waited for over 10 minutes to be seated. After trying to waive down servers I decided to make my way towards the tables. A server stopped me and said I needed to wait. She added there were no clean tables. There were plenty of tables and at least three servers that I counted for a handful of guests. I left and went to another restaurant. I was a hotel guest at the time.

This hotel was okay, I have another conference there next year and am not thrilled about going back. The rooms were clean but dingy. The housekeeping staff does their best, but you can’t clean worn out and dingy. The shower head cover kept falling off, so the wall was exposed. They charged the wrong credit card and said it was a «clerical error» even though I had specifically addressed this with them 12 hours before said error occurred. The staff was nice. By no means the worst, just not worth the cost, or even the convenience necessarily.

Good: Hotel and pool friendly staff Bad: the tub would not drain when I took a shower and water filled up past my ankles scratchy sheets on the bed scratchy towels nothing nearby in terms of a convenience store like walgreens have to pay for parking in the lot across the street too expensive for a non-upgraded hotel with minimum features

Stayed here for the MDA Meeting. Was disappointed in the extras offered by the hotel. From not getting a nice selection of tea in the room to the shampoos, etc. The hallway was very noisy in the morning and they did not have a do not disturb sign to hang out. The view was to a rooftop and just not nice. The curtains do not close at all so it was so light in our room. The staff at the check in was very friendly. We had lunch at the Capital Grill and that was as expected pricey but very good food.

Clean. Friendly staff. 10 min van drive to the airport. Plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance. Great running trail along the river which is right by the hotel.

I stayed at the Radisson during the week while in Lansing for work. The location was convenient, located in downtown/the capital area. The good: –The staff was wonderful. Every person I interacted with was polite and friendly. –The rooms were clean and comfortable. — Plenty of comfy, fluffy pillows. — The free wifi. Not only was it free, but it was easy to sign on and was actually high speed as advertised. The bad: — Parking. I was here during the week and the parking situation is terrible. The street is metered parking. There is a self park garage that is $ 10 for the day but $ 16 if you stay overnight. The hotel does valet for $ 20 a day which I find quite steep. — No fridge in the room. The mattress is adjustable, and while you can adjust to more or less firm. I think that it ended up being less comfortable as a result.

Their restaurants name is, «Capitol City Grille» and it’s located on the ground floor. The hotel connects with the Lansing Center convention space by enclosed, elevated walk way tube from the 2nd floor of the Radisson(signage isn’t so good).

When we arrived at the hotel, we parked around the block on the street. You don’t have to pay the meters on the weekend. There is a structure next door for $ 6 or you can valet at the hotel for $ 15(which I think is a little steep when you’re already paying $ 150 for one night). The location is nice and was convenient as we were in town to go to a show that night at The Loft which was walking distance. The front desk staff that we spoke to were pleasant and friendly and the lobby was clean and modern looking. Our room was ready, so we went up to the 9th floor right away to get settled in. Our room had one king bed with LOTS of pillows as well as a large desk, small sofa, and flat screen tv. Everything looked clean and the room had no smell — which is something I think is very important. Before heading out for the evening we stopped at the front desk to get some recommendations for somewhere to eat and get a drink in the neighborhood, and they were very helpful. When we returned to the hotel, I was excited to test out the sleep number bed. It was awesome. My boyfriend likes a firm mattress and I like it super soft. We both set our sides to our liking and drifted off into sleepland. Until… we were both startled awake by the awful loud thud of the heater turning on. It was so noisy and rattling so loudly, we weren’t even sure at first what it was. I don’t know if all the rooms were like this or if we just got a dud, but this happened about once every 30⁄45 minutes throughout the whole night. I’m normally a pretty deep sleeper, but every time, I was woken up. In the morning, our receipt was left under the door. The room was charged to the credit card on file and we were able to just leave the keys and go. I had intended to tell the front desk about the clunking heater unit so they could have maintenance check it out but quite frankly, I was too exhausted to deal with it. Apart from not getting a great nights sleep the hotel was nice and I would stay their again if I needed a room in Lansing.

I am completely floored by how poor a check-in experience we just had. I’ve stayed at this Radisson multiple times and have usually been impressed by how professional the check-in staff are, which made this all the more shocking. We were here for a wedding, and accompanied the bride(my sister-in-law) and groom back to the hotel to check in. They had checked in yesterday as part of the block of rooms, and were moved into a different room for the wedding night today, and they couldn’t remember which room number they had been moved to. I have to imagine that guests forgetting their room number is a fairly common problem, but Tyler, who was«helping» us, instantaneously struck a very combative tone. I cannot imagine a better setup for absolutely home run service: bride and groom, exhausted and pleased at the end of their 20 hour whirlwind day, can’t get to their room. So just come to their rescue! Instead, Tyler made it a bigger problem and treated them like a bunch of idiots. You know, the bride and groom? The reason we’re all renting these rooms? He was sighing, taking a tone, saying that there were no rooms booked under their names, even though she had a confirmation number(AND had already checked into it earlier in the day!), using very confrontational language(«what HE said was…») as if trying to score points figuring out which one of us deserved the blame. The groom was trying to explain the layout of the rooms and Tyler switched between ignoring him or interrupting him. It was so bad I took a picture of him so I could get his name right later if I sent in feedback. Then he took a tone with my sister-in-law, while the groom went upstairs to look at the rooms and I couldn’t let it go on – I jumped in and called him out on his tone, and that he was raising his voice, which he denied… and then 10 seconds later he was right back at it. I ended up starting to record the conversation because it was just… so…bad! I’ve experienced poor service before(who hasn’t?), but I can’t think of a single worse check-in experience than this one.

Updated review: I received an email from the Radisoon about my experience after completing a survey. They were very friendly and helpful and I am amazed at their response. If the customer service was reflected in the condition of the rooms, then the hotel would get much better.

I stayed here last night for a conference at the nearby Lansing center. I found the staff very attentive. I locked myself out of my room while placing room service tray in hallway, and the night maintenance man was on the elevator and he quickly let me back in. Valet parking is $ 16/day. I ordered an entrée salad and an appetizer for my meal, and it was great. Food arrived in20 minutes. Free wifi is offered; it is incredibly slow as an FYI.

I really like this hotel as it’s right in the middle of downtown/capitol Lansing. The rooms are really clean and they have HD televisions. The Sleep Number beds are way awesome! What I most enjoy is the complimentary water/coffee/lemonade they have near the elevators. In the mornings, they have granola bars and apples too. There is also a small gym and swimming pool/hot tub in the premises. just make sure you got a high credit card limit because they«authorize» $ 50 a day on your card for incidental charges and stuff. They will eventually take it down, but it takes a while.
