Personal Image Salon & Day Spa

I have been going to Personal Image for about a year now. I only see Abby and I will only see Abby! She is PHENOMENAL! She listens to what I want and I always leave impressed! It is great to see someone who loves their job and is truly passionate about it!
Side note: this review is purely based on Abby. I’ve had a few less than impressive interactions with their reception team. Sadly, this is the first impression of a salon and could turn people away, but, don’t run, friends! Be persistent and ask for Abby! Tell her JDobbs sent you!

My experience is almost exactly like E. F’s above.
This was my second bikini wax and my other experience was fantastic. However, my appointment with Nelli was rushed and uncomfortable. I went to her because of so many great reviews online.
She said that we had to rush, because she had another appointment in 10 minutes. Umm… okay. I felt very rushed as she hurried and all I had to do was lie there.
She was not very thorough with the oil afterward, I had to stop by Meijer and buy some on my way home.
When I got home and checked my wax (because I was not able to check things out there because she was too concentrated on her next client and pushing me out), she had missed spots. There are maybe 1 – 2 dozen stray hairs in my bikini area that I can get with tweezers, but the ‘brazilian’ part of that was was NOT thorough at all.
She seemed friendly, if she wasn’t in such a hurry, but I really don’t have a way of knowing either way.
I will not be going back. If you are fine with sloppy, quick work and a bit of savings, I would recommend her, otherwise, I would spent another 10

I went to see Nelli in February of 2011, for my second-​ever brazilian wax. I had a great first experience in another state, and was actually looking forward to it. I saw that she was recommended by a couple reviews of the spa, and I was new to town, so I took the chance.
Nelli is WAY TOO PUNK ROCK! Nelli stayed in the room as I undressed, then threw my legs around as she ripped my hair out in less than 20 minutes. I had a lot of hair to rip out, also, which she commented on. She did not make me feel relaxed, and she seemed very rushed. Yeah, it was quick. I did not want quick, I wanted comfortable. She left wax on, also, which did not go away for days. And she missed spots. Overall, she made me feel bad. Not worth the money, and made me consider a home waxing kit.

I’m very disappointed to report that Kelly, who we previously had such great experiences, «disinvited» my children from the salon. (At their last appointment, the 3-​year-​old was perfect — which even she acknowledged — but our 1-​year-​old got upset and cried. I felt bad and did everything I could to settle him down, but he’s little and he desperately needed a haircut. We ended up leaving before she was even done, so it’s not like we ignored the situation.)
Getting a phone call while I was at work informing me that she «thought my kids would be more comfortable someplace else» was embarrassing and upsetting.
The salon owner, however, was very gracious when I spoke with him and told me that my kids were most definitely welcome at the salon and that he did NOT feel the way Kelly talked to me was appropriate. He offered to make me an appointment with someone else there, but by then we already had one scheduled at Lockworx.
I still go to Personal Image to see Nelli, but the whole situation with Kelly unfortunately left a bad taste in my mouth, and I don’t feel as positive about this place as I did before.

I moved to personal image as well when Nelli moved from cartouche. I love her! Best wax I have ever had, and its all over in 5 minutes.
